Anag Ram
England’s morning undone by one poor shot. Burns and Sibley so comfortable until Burns tries a reverse sweep against the bounce of Ashwin and suddenly one wicket becomes two as Lawrence goes for a duck. 400 an absolute minimum on this pitch. Let’s hope Root and Sibley are still there at tea. Deej
JoetheRam
Digging in after lunch. India bowling pretty well.
Mr Tibbs
Nice 50 up for Sibley. Can't wait for him to bore the Aussies to death later this year. rynny
AndyinLiverpool
Blimey. Look at the state of the ball. Still 25 overs to go until the new one.
JoetheRam
Root makes another century. Played the sweep so well. Sibley still battling away. No wickets from now to the close would be a fantastic position to be in. Anag Ram

JoetheRam
Shame to get out in the last over of the day, but still England's day. Need another couple of partnerships tomorrow. Pitch has looked dead. Curtains
Curtains
Very good by England. Fantastic partnership by Root and Sibley . Root Century outstanding
rynny
Sibley is quickly becoming a favourite, it is brilliant to have an opener that doesn't feel the need to go after runs. Root was fantastic again, need Stokes, Pope and Buttler to put some runs in the board bat through the full day tomorrow. JoetheRam
JoetheRam
Root still there and Stokes starting to motor on this morning. If they're still there at tea we're cooking on gas. Anag Ram
Anag Ram
India starting to look tired now. Enough turn to interest our chaps. Need to bat all day though and try to bowl India out twice. Draw looks nailed on.
JoetheRam
A very very fine 200 brought up with a 6 for Root. Played the spinners incredibly well. So elegant. India have used up all their reviews and are turning to a part-timer just before tea. Feasible England could make 650 in this innings. Hopefully the pitch starts to turn tomorrow otherwise a draw looks the most likely result.
Steve Buckley’s Dog
Woke up 2 minutes after Ben Stokes was dismissed. Bit disappointing but Root looks imperious. Some super running just before tea as well. So nice to have test cricket available to watch. SKRam

Working this evening too so it’s a bit weird sat watching cricket. I’ll get the game later too but watching our run machine is worth the sacrifice of some zzzs! What a run machine Joe is. Need to see India bat to get an idea of the pitch. Fine show so far!
AndyinLiverpool
Can anyone explain to me what it is in Archer's batting that means he comes in at 9? I haven't seen anything that suggests he is anything but an absolute ferret. Anag Ram, Deej, ariotofmyown and 2 others 3
Anag Ram
Brilliant from England today and as a critic of Dom Bess, I have to say he has bowled much better today and thoroughly deserved the wicket of Kohli. Deej and JoetheRam
JoetheRam
Great start today. Archer getting both openers and Bess with a beauty to get rid of Kohli. Pitch just starting to give some uneven bounce. Edited February 7, 2021 by JoetheRam
Anag Ram
Gill looks some player. He was imperious this morning and it was a complete surprise when he holed out to mid on. I wonder whether his sore hand played a part in that. This is riveting stuff! ariotofmyown
JoetheRam
WHAT A CATCH! Bess bowls an absolute pie and Rahane drills it wide of Root at cover who dives to his left and takes it one handed. Comrade 86
Poor old Leach. How he ended the day without a single wicket is beyond me. Finely poised now. An early wicket tomorrow and we're into their tail. Draw still looks by far the most likely result but the strip is becoming increasingly unpredictable and stranger things have happened.
