I really hope PC sticks by the lad just to spite you experts . The biggest thing i dislike about DCFC nowadays are the know all football manager  'supporters' ! ?

What a weird post to make on a Derby County discussion forum, specifically set up so that DCFC fans can air their opinions.

I've just freeze framed those first 2 goals .

No 1 is clearly Forsyth and Davies' fault . Both totally asleep . Forsyth should have blocked the cross , Davies the player. Neither even moved .Roos could not dive right out that far .

No2 even worse . Martin goes to head and completely mis judges it , Davies ,  Bogle and Beilk are 3 on 1 with their no9 completely blocking off Roos while none of them challenge.

Pathetic defending for which the main blame for me lies with Davies .

But that doesn't fit with the fashion of scapegoating Roos does it ?????

I've defended the scapegoating of Roos for a while now but yesterdays performance was abysmal.

He does need to be dropped.

Exactly.  We are absolutely entitled to our opinions and you absolutely do not need to be an expert to see that Roos is.... not good.

This isn’t a subjective discussion - it’s not about Waggy being played out of position or formations - it’s about a player who is costing us games.

I’m definitely a ‘get behind the lads’ type bloke but sometimes you have to say it how it is. A lot of us have felt he’s got away with it for a long time and now it’s bitten us big time. He’s just not good enough at the moment and for every reason mentioned, needs to be dropped.

That's his opinion. The fact that it probably doesn't coincide with yours or mine is immaterial.

No ones scapegoating him, the team played well and defended well, individually Roos cost us the game today.
The first two goals he should be cleaning up. If it was just the third goal you could put that down to a miss kick sometimes it happens. But the two previous are a sure fire indicators of what we have been seeing from him all season, indecisive when it comes to claiming a ball in his area.

You can try and blame Davies and co but I feel they are dropping deeper and deeper because they don’t trust Roos to collect the ball anymore. I remember a really good example of this in the Wigan at home game Davies dropped just outside the 6 yard box to clear an easy ball just because he didn’t know Roos was coming or not.

It’s a shame because he’s a great shot stopper but unless he can claim a ball properly then he’ll never make it long term for us.

Hmmm not convinced by that at all.  Generally poor all over the pitch.  The first 2 goals were poor defending and poor goalkeeping.  If either had been adequate those 2 goals would have been stopped.  Having said that I think it was likely that they wold have scored from other chances

I'm going to throw Roos a lifeline(he may not catch it though)up until the playoff final I thought he was doing OK, Villas 2nd was his fault and no one elses, Pretty sure since then there's been a hit squad of supporters who are pointing a finger at his failures as a keeper, You'd have to be totally deaf not to hear the disdain coming from sections of the crowd when a simple catch is louded with cheers and applause, This must be playing on his mind.

Being coached at Moor Farm by Shay Given and co has no bearing on the 90+mins on the pitch, You can not replecate the phsyicality in training, Cocu must take some of the blame, He's persisted with Roos when those watching(not all may I add)know of his failings, The 2nd goal last night has shown how our weak defence are trying to protect him knowing he will not attack the ball, Davis had the same opportunity as Mitrovic in the phsyical stakes...but failed, It's the midfield and fullbacks jobs to stop the crosses coming in(excluding free kicks)but once in the air Roos has to show his metal and attack the ball, 1st goal last night he was caught in thick fog not knowing when or how to attack the ball, Their player did.

There's been harsh words more so from last night from Roos performance, To keep faith with a keeper Cocu is either blind to Roos failings or Hamer is out of his depth, In which case to quote Private Frasier "we're doomed", You can not/should not hope Roos will wake up one Morning and become a commanding keeper, If he's not learned by now then that ship has sailed.

If Hamer plays on Saturday I hope he and the defence know each others capabilities, It's the outfield players job to protect the keeper, It's the keepers job to show all he owns the 18 yard area.

Thought the defending for the first two goals certainly didn’t help , but Roos needs to start getting brave and start clearing a few players out.
A goalkeeper is a specialist position which requires a lot of bravery and I’m not seeing this at all .
The third goal was a terrible mistake , smashing a ball straight down the middle of the park , no way was Bilek going to be able to control that.
As a kid goalkeepers we’re always told find the wings if in doubt , this is basic stuff , and Roos isn’t grasping this.
He’s not been the same since being outmuscled by a guy half his size at Wembley .
He needs taking out the limelight.

Agree 100%.  No argument from me.  Yes indeedy.  Right on, Bro.  With you all the way on that score, squire.  etc... etc...

Now we've cleared up our thoughts on "Opinion", what's your thoughts on "Irony"?

Think the best thing for Roos, the fans, the club would be for him to take some time out, give Hamer a run.

He needs to work on his decision making, his self confidence and his commanding of the box.

Give him a couple months out, to work on these.

How long has he already had? He’s 27? Not 21! He’s never been good in the air or commanded his box, he’s only ever been a ‘ball playing’ shot stopper (at best).

I mainly meant the ones at games, especially at home but if the cap fits .........

Only just caught up... Fair comment, and kind of nullifies my previous post(s).

Clearly a misunderstanding on my part, as I wrongly assumed your comments on a forum for DCFC fans, about DCFC fans' opinions, were directed at the opinions of DCFC fans on said DCFC fans forum... so apologies and thanks for the clarification in equal measure.

Not wearing a cap though... I'm indoors.

Yes I get your point however these issues we are picking up may not have been noticed as such before he got first team football, and they have more or less only just come to light.

God if so sack the coaches...imo he got in when Carson was injured and stayed in for his ‘ball playing’. His poor command of his area and poor technique when coming for the ball - he waits for it, doesn’t attack it and generally is hesitant, cannot have been missed previously.
