It's nothing new, I believe both Rowett & Pearson had to do this. I'm starting to wonder whether it's a line from the club that will hopefully see us more ardent in the transfer market. If Frank doesn't get the job now then the whole board/public relations team need shooting for not issuing a statement over the last few days along the lines of: 'Whilst we can confirm we are in talks with Frank Lampard we are still a long way from agreeing any deal. We need to ensure any deal is in the very best interests of the club and we have many other strong candidates to consider'. Letting it build to fever pitch is great if he is unveiled tomorrow but if he isnt and Wassall gets the job I've got a pitchfork if anyone else has a flaming torch.
