Tommy are. you forgetting he's been a very expensive bench warmer for the past six season for Villa and us Thank goodness the person who gave him another year is no longer employed by dcfc

I like Bent, also think if he made the right move that he would be able to help us achieve our aim of 2nd place.

Burton isn't the right move for him.

Brentford would be ideal; a team that create chances and need someone to put them in. Forest, too, would be a good move.

How do you square that view with your comment on Chris Martin - unless you think Bent can still make it if we get promoted to the PL? ?

Why no loans n by Rowett? Because he knows more than we do, apparently. Long may it continue.

I think at one of the fan events he said something along the lines "there's loan fees which are as big as a few million and a lot of them come with must play games clauses which he isn't willing to consider in his team for obvious reason" So he would do loan deals if he thought they were in the team's interest but a lot of them don't seem to be that good a deal when considered in a bigger perspective.

Bent’s been a decent servant to the club. Never our first choice striker but never failed to make a positive impact when given a chance. He’s contributed some very important goals for us, and off the field he’s put a lot into the club. Sorry to those who wanted him to play exactly like Chris Martin, are obsessed by how much money he’s apparently on, and somehow can’t see his time at Derby worthy of their respect.

Yep, some unbelievably crass comments being made, especially about his injury. And blame the club not Darren for his contract,. He's done well for us by and large, not that some on here will give two ***** either way.

Darren Bent scored one of the best goals ever away at Wolves.

Apart from that he's been very ordinary.

Is it coincidence that when he triggered his contract extension, Rush got fired?

I doubt it. i think we were banking on getting rid.
