The new manager was shown around the training ground and agreed his deal the day they filmed the Jimmy Bullard thing at St Georges Park.

He's not even in the betting atm.

That's my guess, anyway!

Not quite sure what you mean? I suppose that you mean it was done out of the spotlight.

I mean the next manager will be someone unexpected , in a good way.

I think Mel gets his man, more often than not.

Wigan were very happy to just survive each season and he managed to do that with Whelans backing, But most of us (including Mel) don't want to see us in a relegation battle each season and he has shown at Everton that he can't handle the pressure when more than survival is expected.

I take your point and well made but he started well at Everton and there is a lot more football culture and expertise at Derby than there ever was a Wigan. I don't necessarily want him but his style of football had something going for it. My fear is that we will get some survival specialist playing percentage football and naive though it may be I am a Derby Way ( if there is such a thing ) sort of bloke and would rather die gloriously than be mediocre.

Only the Royal Canadian Mounted police have a better record than Mel at getting their man.

Only 3 years away before their new rocket is ready..

If you mean the Falcon Heavy I'd say it's closer. If you mean the Mars Colonial Transporter (aka BFR) I reckon into the 2020s (but before 2025). Taking 100 people to Mars in one go is quite a leap. Wonderful news that they'll be sending Red Dragon to land there soonish (says he completely hijacking the thread, but everybody should be talking about what SpaceX is doing for humanity, perhaps even more than who the next Rams manager is).

Atmospheric post, out of this world, more important than our re-entry into the stratosphere of the Premier. The Teleospheric football funding is eclipsed by the funding need for a Mars, though.
