A very interesting and worthwhile podcast with Keiran Maguire who I don't believe has any particular axe to grind with Derby County and so perhaps a more balance view than Mel's ramblings.
Unfortunately for some reason I can't get a link to the podcast to work so you may have to google it yourselves.
people hate maguire here because he tells us the truth which we don't want to hear
-
did he answer what the situation with the stadium is?
for me this is the worst thing he has done during his entire time here, we could be a homeless club in a few years like coventry
-
The results last season weren't special but he inherited a poor situation and people would have snatched your hands off if we had stayed up on the last game of the season like we did. it has never been easy for rooney and for me he has done everything asked of him and more.
i am not sure the cocu comparison is fair because even in a short term the job has become much more difficult. they were very different jobs
-
it is time for proper organised demonstrations against Mel. We will all support the team in the ground but for me we need to make our voices heard and hold him to account, not just a few chants in the ground occasionally.
he has been allowed to get away with murder, it has to be made clear it can't continue as if we sit silent this club WILL NOT EXIST by the end of the season mark my words
-
it reminds me of the newcastle situation, really steve bruce is doing the exact same job as rafa benitez did yet one is hated and one is loved. I feel like if a more popular name amongst supporters would be in the managers seat we would all be praising him every week working under difficult circumstances.
i never wanted rooney in the first place but he completely won me over when he kept us up
-
i think rooney has gotten a huge raw deal from supporters, people dont understand the difficulty of the job he has.
bluntly put he has a piss poor first team squad, and managed to keep us up last season and we have had an excellent start. just a shame it has been threw back in his face by that so called owner of the club.

my main worry going forward is, is this the end of the bad news?
i am not sure it is, i have always been thinking the summer that we will do well to complete the season, that is my main worry.
-
support the team not the regime, although the way things are spiralling will we actually have a team to support?
-
how can anybody give it higher than 1. you couldnt have imagined it end any worse than it has turned out. he has burned this once great club to ground

There is no defence of Mel Morris anymore, quite simply.
give it time, they will think of a new reason
GET OUT OUR CLUB MEL

Are we as a fan base finally going to wake up to Mel and hold him to account.
I am sick of reading people defending him, he has absolutely destroyed this club and this administration (when we have had a good start to the season!) is just a final spit in the face to the fans that stayed loyal to him.
there should be protests at the next game, although that is assuming we are even allowed to play games. I am worried about more than admin

GET OUT THIS CLUB MEL, I am ashamed that I once supported what you were doing.

Don't agree with that at all.
'Kept us up having been bottom' really is a generous way of looking at his performance last year.
Tbf he is probably the least of our problems at the moment but somehow he has to show he can find a way to make us look like we can cause problems to the opposition. Couldn't see us scoring if we had played all night.
we can all have a habit of overanalysing things and picking holes in things.
at the end of the day, we were already dead and burried and anybody would have said the person coming in would have done a good job to keep us up. That was his job , and he ended up doing it

I agree it doesn't matter to me whether he is from Derby or Dubai
exactly, you cant tell me the mood towards him would be completely different if he wasnt from Derby.
has his spell here been any different to fawaz from down the road? he at least knew when he wasnt welcome anymore
-
people talk about style but you can only work with what you have got.
Our squad is shocking, we are bringing on players that should be playing youth football expecting them to make a difference at this level. it is a pipe dream.
i dread to think about the upcoming winter period where we play lots of games and injuries will hit

The thing i dont understand is why do people keep defending mel? He has absolutely gutted this club.
i work for a national company so most of my work mates are fans of different clubs, all of them are baffled as to why Derby fans arent protesting against the owner and I tend to agree with them.
i ask the question if mel was from italy and had no connection to the club would he be seen as completely different? i think we are blinded by the fan thing - he is dragging the club in the dirt and seemingly gets a free pass. you just look at the whole fan meeting thing last month, it is a damn disgrace

when we appointed rooney i was seriously worried. I wanted a safe pair of hands that had been there and done it, but i think rooney has done everything and more than what is being asked of him. It may not be pretty but he is doing the best of the impossible situation we are in.
He kept us up after inheriting a team that was bottom, and this season he has got us competing with a side that is respectfully shambolic. Our team on paper last year should have gone down, the team this year is much much worse and he is getting us points on the board.
I think those that expect more of rooney and these players need a reality check.
he spent most of pre-season begging for a senior cb, that sums up the poo he is managing

But then you go on to say you do know and it’s all MM’s fault. It will be easier to apportion blame, once we have all the facts, if that ever happens, due to the number of NDA’s floating around.
You are right maybe i am wrong, i just had to get it off my chest.
does he have a number of dnas floating around or is he hiding behind it? or is it once again speculation?
this is what i mean about the lack of respect mel morris is showing for everybody. he should be held to account, at the moment he isnt held to account by the supporters while we shout at the efl. we need clarity, i am seriously worried the club is going to be kicked out the leagues.
there will be no dna's stopping mel morris from explaining the sitatuion, but me speculating (i know hypocrite ), its' because there will be a negative reaction towards him if he tells us the truth

I have long been an overlooker on these things and showed little interest, i generally believe as fans we dont know what goes on behind the scenes especially when it comes to the complicated nature of finances nowadays with financial fair play and whatever other restrictions there is. everybody like to think they know what they are talking about but the reality is it is all guesswork and speculation. I have always been a fan of whats on the pitch and pay little attention to the stuff that goes on elsewhere.
but you cannot ignore it at the moment despite my best efforts because it is clearly having a massive effect of things on the pitch and i am extremely worried about the future. we all like to blame the EFL but we as a club and mainly mel morris at to blame. The EFL dont wake up and decide I am going to punish Derby. We as a club have acted terribly over recent history, disregarding authorities, rules and other clubs. You even look at how long this has dragged on for, and looks like there is no end in sight. Why does this not happen at other clubs? it is you broke X rule, here is the punishment. With us we make everything difficult, struggling and resisting despite being guilty of charges.
i am sure i will take some stick for almost 'defending' the efl (go easy on me )i think the efl are an immoral organisation with no leadership, but at the end of the day this whole situation is our doing. i think the chants at the efl should be directed at the man running the club that is mel morris.
let us just look at the facts of the situation, we are in absolute turmoil and mel morris has had dozens and dozens of opportunities to resolve this entire situation, but he seems to be dragging his heels at every opportunity. i ask why? if he resolves all these issues which the efl clearly want to do, he could potential sell the club easier. so why is he not looking to resolve these issues?
for me i am seriously worried about the long term future of our club, we can blame the efl, boris johnson, covid or the pope. at the end of the day all of this could be resolved by mel morris, whether he genuinely does not want to fund the club going forward then the club needs clarity.
my reading of this situation is mel knows the crowd have not turned on him so he is keeping his mouth shut, i think the reality of this situation could be grim for us supporters and mel knows this. i think mel is direspecting the players, the manager and the fans in his handling of this situation.
sorry to be all doom and gloom this is just my thoughts on the sitatuion i had to get it off my chest
Ravel Morrison - overrated?

but natural talent is wasted without disipline.
for me it is clear at his age he won't ever get the discipline required to be a talented footballer at this level or above.
but saying that he is the best we can hope for in our position, we will have to get used to raw unfufilled talents that need nurturing going forward because thats the market we will be shopping in.
