You are underestimating the impact of luck and how slowly it evens out. Remember these events are independent, once one gets lucky they are not more likely to get unlucky in the future (gambler's fallacy). Last year we were hard done by in the region of 17 points, should have been third or fourth and didn't even make the playoffs.

All I see is Wildsmith's hand 30cm to half a metre away from the bar with the ball virtually on the by-line, so unless his reflexes are something approaching the speed of light he ain't getting there.

Have I read this right, the guy with the perfect view of Waghorn's lee arm was the one whose angle was blocked by not just every player in between but...Waghorn himself?

Back on topic, how did we rate his hat?

I think it went well with a jovial, goalie hugging, joies de vive style, but, i do worry that the onset of spring might spur a dangerous development and tempt Warne into going hatless which would be a disaster in my view.

It's clear that impermiating the hat with CBD oil and lining it with tinfoil to mitigate some of PW's more interesting ideas has been a winning solution, but removing the hat could lead to him rediscovering some of his less effective ideas.

Perhaps a summer hat? some kind of bobble-trucker cap?

Sombrero, oops let’s not go there😂

  3. Following on from the Bolton sellout thread, are we likely to sellout the home areas for the last 3 home games.

Think it’s unlikely any of the away teams will bring the 3,000+ away allocation but I think it’s possible we could sell all our tickets .

This is what we currently have left, but as we have seen you can probably add another 1,000 or so onto that figure if they open up the East stand blocks.

    Blackpool 2,810.

    Leyton Orient  4,308.

    Carlisle 1,919.

If we maintain or improve our league position I think the Carlisle game is a certainty to sell out.

Safe standing is basically people standing in an allocated seat, in my opinion it doesn’t address the issue. Terracing is not unsafe , done properly.

It will be interesting to see how safe standing at Portsmouth plays out.

Supporters are supposed to stand in their allocated position, the problem is fans, and their mates can’t always buy tickets in the same area if they are different category away members which usually means they just congregate on the stairs or cram into seating areas.

Portsmouth have said they will be monitoring it, we shall see.

Net chances per game against the league's average opponent on neutral ground. By xG, demonstrably the best metric to evaluate past performance in the public domain once you haven't followed a team's games.

Ignore the result mate, Wilson heading it in is just one moment of the performance, it doesn't "cancel" the remaining 95'.

This is simply not true, he was nowhere near it.

You are Mark Clattenburg and I claim my £5.

Sounds like you only saw the stats, I'll sum it up for you but if you watched the game or the extended ignore it. We had one chance in the entire second half -you read that right- plus two half-chances in the first, nothing else of note; the other way keeper pulled two worldies, they hit the bar and came close at least a couple more times (50'-64'). Now I would agree the above against a tough opponent is "solid" if we were mid-table or lower, for an aspiring top 2/3 side at home I would call it "a stinker".

So be humble, accept we got the rub of the green (as has been the case numerous times this season, I make it win #9 where we haven't been the better side - 18 points right there for those who like their points and ppgs), be grateful for the result and move on, no need to get all snidey. Spare the gloating and glorifying for when we are actually decent and worthy winners, not after smash-and-grabs on our own turf. My tuppence anyway.

Your teem couldn’t even beat Luton 😂

OK just for you, it was handball.

But the reality is we created the better chances and didn't take them, and a lot of credit has to go to your goalie. Equally, the responsibility lies with our strikers who are simply not as ruthless as our usual starters, especially Dion Charles.

As I mentioned during the match when we were battering you but couldn't score in a brothel, it was obvious that you'd get a scabby goal to win it which you did, but that's football folks - you don't always get what you deserve, and we didn't deserve to lose that, not that you care.

The irony is that it was Kane Wilson who was credited with the goal - a player we'd agreed a fee with Brizzle to sign, but didn't in the end as his personal terms and wage demands were too high for us, so he came to you instead.

    Anyhoo, onwards and sideways.....

If only we’d have had our first, second, or third choice striker available or our only fit free transfer striker hadn’t gone off injured I’m sure we’d have scored more, s*** happens suck it up.

Is recalling Dajaune Brown an option.

He's scoring a lot at his loan club

He’s been called up for Jamaica under 23s so he wouldn’t be available for the Northampton game.

As to your question on how many Derby fans will be going to Fratton Park. The answer, as many as Portsmouth will allow. Unfortunately the number of tickets available to us isn't that large.

Considering Portsmouth sold out the rest of the ground some while ago I think it’s a  very good allocation, they could easily have given us less and sold them to home fans.

Great result for both of us today. You guys deserve to go up with such amazing support. I honestly can’t wait until we meet in April. The atmosphere is going to be electric with our fans on good form and yours as well who never disappoint. I think we both go up in the automatic promotion places it’s now down to who wins the league. We are blighted by injuries at the moment so I’m nervous for our match and if we play like we did today we could be facing a drubbing.

I’m from Pompey originally but live in the midlands now so I’m pissed by the change to an evening game like I imagine many here are as well. Best of luck for the rest of the season.

    2,196 is the answer.

Thats the allocation we’ve been given.
