Wow! What a result. What a performance! Only criticism is it should’ve been more comfortable, could have been 3 up by half time. So many good performances, pleased for Baldock, thought Bird was stand out for me but Jags Davies Morrison Joz Sibley and the full backs deserve a mention, Byrne back on form tonight after a shaky start to the season.

Attacking exciting football and defensive resilience. Players in Baldock Jags and Morrison who really want to be here. Rosenior spoke brilliantly after the game, class from Rooney to let him do the interview. Said Rooney keeps everyone calm (including him) and is a natural born leader.

Our only issue is we don’t have a squad so Rooney was limited with the changes he could make. Only option was to defend it out.

It’s early days but 4 points from the first 3 games is solid enough. More positives than negatives, but I’m loving this team and the way we’re going about it, the players and the coaching staff. Mel and Stephen are making a Horlicks of everything off the field but the playing staff are doing everything they can to bring pride back and help the fans connect again. I’m a super proud fan and I’m backing them to the hilt. Can’t wait for my first trip to PP this season on Saturday against Boro. Extra incentive for that one
And the red dogs lost………….again!! ????
    Its a beautiful evening ?? ???

My love for football has been slipping away for a few years. The prem is poisonous, £100m on Grealish isn’t even laughable when clubs are sinking and along with them the lifestyle of people like me who used to plan our lives around the fixture list.
Total saturation of football on tele too.
More than that it’s our fans, the bile all over social media. The moaning at the game, the booing, the political stuff, the constant neediness of fans demanding success.
I think the pride has gone. I used to be proud to be a Derby fan, now I’m just meh.

Didn’t go to the first game for other reasons but I’ve definitely distanced myself from the club over the summer.
The euros were a nice distraction but I was waiting for some sort of new era to get back in to Derby but the Rooney/Mel saga continues to drag itself out.
I don’t know if anyone else had this but I was waiting for the club to get sorted out and then suddenly realised we were playing on Saturday. Stearman and Curtis at the back.
Reality has sunk in now that this is what we’re watching this season and I’m happy to go again. I know what the deal is.
The people I have the most time for right now are the players. We’re in a dire situation and these are the lads we have to keep us up, I’m going to back them to the death.
There’s no point moaning about Roos/Fozzy/Jozwiak, there’s no one coming to replace them now or in January. Zero point selling them either. Every player I’ve seen criticised on social media is a player I’m grateful we have at the club right now.
This season, as far as the players are concerned, I’m only going to be positive. Byrne can score three own goals and I’ll clap him off. They need that attitude from the supporters to stand a chance.
Rooney is at least sticking by the fans and players but I wish he’d ducked off instead. It’s daft but I’d take McClaren over Rooney at this point, football is crap, results are crap, constant media attention is crap. Not usually bothered about the media but the clubs image is only getting worse with him at the helm. McClaren may be the only one who would take the job at this point.
Mel can duck off, which I wasn’t saying at the end of last season. Backed a fair few of his decisions but we know about 10/20% of what is going on at the club. To have all the facts at your disposal and still put us in the situation he’s put us in, I can’t believe it. He’s either a rat or he’s stupid.
I’ll always be grateful for the academy but the sooner he’s gone, the better. Never have him near the club again.
Yes, the EFL are out of order but he was too clever for his own good. Glad he was outspoken against them, wish he had the brains to back his words up.
The fans. Pride Park can be anxious and toxic at its worst. We’ll go down if it is. I know I sound like B4 but get behind the lads no matter what.

I will always follow the club but I've been losing interest in the match day 'experience' for a while now. I enjoyed the Lampard season and that inspired me to keep going and renew my season ticket. The covid break from the routine combined with a lack of finance has meant that I won't be going to the games again any time soon. I've been a season ticket holder for yonks. Not living local to Derby is also a factor.
The cack football doesn't put me off - I started going to the games in the late 70s and early 80s!! Went to loads of away games in the old third division and I remember the day we were 15 minutes from going bust. The 11 point season didn't put me off either. I think it's modern football generally that I don't feel part of and that makes me sad.

Can you imagine if the EFL slapped a 12 point penalty on us on Wednesday then Gibson turns up on Saturday. The atmosphere would be belligerent.
I think your post has much merit Pearl and because of it I think we are going to get a deduction and the club and EFL have moved things on a week to avoid trouble at the match.

Not only was tomorrow earmarked as the day when our accounts had to be submitted by, but also when season tickets were finally going to go on sale.
Last weeks announcements stated there would be more info on that "early next week"... which of course is now this week.  As we haven't had any further info on that particular subject to date, and I assume 5pm this evening marked the end of "Early next week", I can't help but wonder whether season tickets will indeed go on sale tomorrow, or whether that date may also be put back 6 days?

I guess tomorrow will answer that, one way or another?

totally professional yesterday both manager and players alike , all seem to be in this together which is a positive for Wayne , going to be a long hard season but with this team spirit and 2 or 3 more players added there is no reason we cant avoid relegation

Wasn't Rooney's biggest fan, even a week or so ago. But to see the crap that he's been dealt with during pre season with no funds, inability to bring in transfers and an owner who doesn't want to be there, I'm starting to warm to him and what he's about. You can see his desire to succeed and I do think he is doing all he can to bring Derby out of the mire we're in.
He's assembling what could be a fairly competitive squad and managed to pull a team together today that produced a result without having played together. Huddersfield aren't the strongest side in the division but you have to play what's in front of you.
He's got some games to win before he proves himself as manager but Im routing for him.

This is the fella who reminisced about Arsenal catastrophically losing to a Derby team who had been in the relegation zone all season during the 88-89 title win.  I believe we finished 5th and comfortably did the double over them that year . Numpty

I think you are both being a bit disingenuous here. I read that, and align that with all the noises Rooney has made lately, trying to prove he is committed to this club. I take this as a sign of positive intent, albeit whether he has what it takes to be successful is another issue completely, I think what he's saying is he's here for the long haul and not going to snake away and distance himself from potential faiilure.

Arguably MOTM yesterday and people still bashing Roos, both on here and on Twitter. Why focus on the keeper who couldn't really do much and not the awful defending from set pieces?

if he had come for it and missed everyone would be slating him. It was a great ball in.
His positioning wasn’t that bad and after the header it’s pure luck where it ends up.

It was an excellent delivery. Roos would have looked a complete dummy if he had tried to reach it before their player. The defence left plenty to desire, but Roos certainly wasn't at fault in my opinion.

Lets be right Roos had a good game again yesterday i am not convinced he should have came out i am more concerned that probably the most dangerous cb in the division in terms of scoring headers was unmarked.

some people need to realise we are a mid table championship team… he’s more than good enough for where we are at the minute.

This weekend the eyes of the football world will be on the Rams. Absolutely no point in turning up to protest - that would just be a huge shot in the foot. The situation is what it is. Let's turn up, cheer and support WR and the players. 3 points from a win will give the players a huge boost; siege mentality, fans behind them, nothing to lose. We're in this together. If you can keep your head when all about are losing theirs and blaming it on you...
