kevinhectoring got a reaction from SKRam in Test Cricket is Back
Today Broad and Anderson broke McGrath and Warne’s record for most test wickets by a pair of test bowlers playing together. 1002 ! Records are there to be broken but given the dominance of the shorter forms it’s hard to imagine that this one will ever be challenged.

kevinhectoring reacted to England Ram in Paul Warne and the importance of tactical flexibility
One of the main factors in the next few weeks as we run out the season will be thinness and age of our depleted squad. Some play this down, but I feel it really will make its mark felt.
A lack of options for those out of form or for a change of pace within games can make all the difference. And some of our older players are looking like they are feeling the strain of a long season already.
Enjoy your time here, we really are a good bunch........mostly.

This is the switch I think we really need to make in defence and midfield, so long as everyone is fit and fresh enough. I'm not sure what the front three should be given the six options of McGoldrick, Collins, NML, Barks, Dobbin and Springett.
But this back four solidifies the defence while this midfield three brings more goal threat, bite and creativity, and is better balanced.

I think top 6 is very achievable to be honest.
PS Paul Warne please give Rooney more game time
Is he Injured !

This is a really good question. In his Barnsley post match Warne (surprisingly) said we looked a bit ‘old men’. Lincoln squeezed the football out of us first half with their press and Barnsley put us off our game with their energy. And posters on here are saying “what can we do if lots of players have an off day?”. Duh. Cause and effect.
The better managers see what’s going on. We’ll struggle for top 6 if Warne doesn’t find a way to a stronger midfield. And as we saw yesterday the defence need the protection, and people will work out how to penetrate an exposed Forsyth/Cashin team. More bodies in midfield is the obvious solution. But more youngsters will help and Rooney could improve fast. Also, try McGoldrick much deeper, Smith in midfield, Tommo to break up play, Sibley in a position that suits him better. PW seems to have fixed on a starting Xl and shape that can be outdone by a squad of fit 25 year olds

Well ok but as the manager has revealed we don’t have a foreword with a forehead so crosses don’t matter much, except from set pieces. Which begs the question why we look for so many goals from crosses in open play

I agree we definitely need a midfielder with strength and presence, but I don’t think Knight or Thompson would work.
We need a new player in there, but that can’t happen till the summer

It’s a depressing result for us, but it’s important to remember that Barnsley are historically, one of the best teams in world football.

My son is named Kevin after a certain Mr. Hector.
My son has sons named Archie and Horacio and a third son named Dylan Pride, our surname is Parkes so Dylan Pride Parkes is worthy of the award.
Archie is obviously after Archie Gemmill while Horacio is a nod to both Raich Carter and Horacio Carbonari.
My son married a Peruvian girl so was quite clever at sneaking Rams players and the ground into his kids names.

I couldn’t agree more, KH. I am really looking forwards to seeing Bird and White together.
A midfield of White, Bird, Knight and Hourihane. What’s not to like?

kevinhectoring got a reaction from I know nothing in The FBI have got the Kirch!
Kirch’s bizarre lifestyle made no sense. He was at the helm of a company that was at a crucial stage in its development and he spent his whole time swanning off to play with his boys’ toys. It just shows how the venture capital world works - investors are awash with cash, they do their diligence, write the cheques, then move on to the next deal leaving the company founders in charge. Nevertheless it’s astonishing that - with the private jet and serial bids for football clubs - the investors didn’t get involved.
He is still a major shareholder. So I’d think that when the poo hit the propellor Goldman Sachs and the other investors would have said to him - this is fraud, hand over most of your shares, and we’ll all move on. I’d think the the FBI were called in only because Kirch refused to do a deal with them and decided instead to throw the legal dice.
The investors continue to support Slync so his shareholding continues to increase in value even with him out of the picture.

Surely this can’t be correct. We all know the EFL, FA and referees association have a vendetta against Derby and we never get questionable decisions in our favour. ?
