Rooney should do one of two things:
    1. Tell the world he is lucky to be managing our club and that he is determined to get the best out of our squad whatever its weaknesses
    2 resign

You are living in a fantasy land if you think that Marshall/Roos, Fozzy, Davis, CKR, Jowviak and Lawrence are top 6 players.

Noticed that in Clarkson’s Farm, Jeremy named one of his 2 rams Wayne (the other one was Leonardo deCaprio). Leonardo is still going strong but Wayne lasted just 2 years before giving up the ghost.

    Good question..
I suspect when the (quite reasonable rule actually) rule was set, that it was not with last seasons ?in mind though.

That's why I think Rooney is the wrong person to be manager right now. It's a hard task and it needs a proven manager to get the mentality right. Is Rooney able to do it? Maybe, maybe not - maybe it's beyond any manager.  But I would rather trust a manager with a record of trying and succeeding than a manager who we can see hasn't managed to turn it round and has never been successful in management.
Do you think (like him or hate him) that Warnock would inspire more belief in his team than the current Derby team have in themselves?

Was interested to read this. Yes maybe we will have a group of leaders who will take us forward. Stranger things have happened (to us in the last 12 months)

I take your point, but what is very clear is that if they could have sanctioned us further, ie. a points deduction, they would have. It was only their own legal team's advice that seems to have prevented them going again. That's kind of what I meant with my post. I do agree that the statement was also intended to bring closure onto the incessant whining from Gibson, Conway and that ducking melt Rob Couhig who seriously needs to shut his yap. Systemic cheating my fecking arse, grrrrrrr!
The LAP really had no business overturning the original DC findings. My theory is that the paltry fine imposed was intended to force the EFL's hand in that they'd have had to appeal the decision to impose further sanctions and also to make it abundantly clear that they would resist any attempt to sanction us in a way that resulted in relegation.
Obviously, we need to show we remain within the FFP thresholds, but I'm really not seeing any issue there. While I think with hindsight, we could have handled things differently, the EFL and the LAP have been made to look very foolish, though how helpful that is, I'm not sure!
Can I take the 5th on this bit please mate? ?

I would love Nixon to be right on this issue, and hope we are taken over soon, heard some rumours about the take over, but will not say as its just rumours but hope we get this over the line ASAP. As fans we need some positive news, as there has been so much negativity recently, there most be some good news around the corner please.

The business is extremely lean. There are debts, but we are a good prospect for a potential owner nonetheless.
How many clubs have this little deadwood while simultaneously having a few sellable assets in our young players? Plus the owner is desperate to sell and the club is getting a worse press every single day.
Someone who knows their football and their business knows that we are a very good prospect. A low level Championship club fighting off relegation, with low wage costs but high quality Premier League facilities?
We have the platform to climb the table again, if we can very quickly put this mess behind us

We have much more fan based revenue than the average. Player wages (post covid) will come down materially. I think we have a good chance of promotion without losses if we have strong management  (football and corporate) in place. Hope one of these US groups will bring that.

Our club is on the block for peanuts. We have recently come close to promotion despite having average player recruiting  (Lampard’s loans excepted). In non covid times, well run, we should more than break even. And with strong player recruitment and a strong chief executive, we have a decent chance of promotion in the next 5 years. What would you estimate is the return on investment if we make the PL and stay there? Must be massive.  And if we don’t gain promotion, and the club is run well, you won’t lose money. If an investor has a good management team, and is investing a fraction of his net worth, why not ?

For me there's no chance of this. Dell knows owning a Championship club is a mug's fame. That's why they're prepared to lend money to them at fantastically high interest rates and make a killing.
It would be madness to throw away all their easy profits to go and sit on the other side of the fence and start losing money instead.

Exactly this for me ... yes this is what it’s all about. DCFC supporter since boyhood. Now a bloke pushing 60 and yes my head tells me we are in a mess, a shambles of a club & the big time is as far away as it’s ever been BUT to follow the Rams is in your blood and if there’s nothing to strive for, to dream to achieve then what is the point. To look forward to the days when you can introduce the mighty Rams to the grandkids and accompany them to the games, to see the excitement on their faces, this is what I look forward to. Yes, I may be a sentimental old fool but it’s the escapism from the stress & strains of everyday life that draws you to the dream. Is my heart ruling my head ABSOLUTELY .... but if the dreams & aspirations are nothing but fantasy and we accept that they are a million miles away then what is the point??
