We are favourites for relegation because the bookies are laying off on the possible points deduction. We get a 12 point deduction and those odds look right but without a points deduction they just don't make sense.
If we were say 10-1 everyone would be on it and hoping for a points deduction to take effect at the end of August. It's too big a risk for the bookies as all we hear from the club is that they are working with the EFL on the submission of the accounts. Which just sounds like there's an issue.

I joined this forum back in September last year when the number of posts was under 1 million, I don't know the exact figure but it was 9 hundred odd thousand.
We now sit at over 1.2 million so that is a minimum of 200k posts in less that 12 months. I've looked back and the oldest posts I can find are from January 2009 (the forum may have existed longer but I expect others would know more).
So from Jan 2009 to Sept 2020 there were just under 1 million posts, an average of 90k ish a year.
Since Sept 2020 up to now there have been over 200k posts so over double the average number and it would seem then that our troubles have prompted members to view and participate more than in less difficult times.
So in answer to the OP's question most people prefer to post when things are bad.

Rooney like many of us makes some rather stupid judgement calls when mullered.
In the past he was reigned in by a strong manager who was able to tune him but even SIr Alex wasn’t able to curb this weakness that has plagued his personal life.
But who is to hold Rooney the boss in check?
He’s clearly on the pop and has piled the weight on. I don’t see him as an example of the modern professional like Lampard or Cocu. So what does he bring to the table. Motivationally in the most trying of times he was able to pick up 1 draw in our last seven games then have to audacity to hail survival as success.
He’s getting a free pass by many because of the turmoil surrounding the club and the thinking is that changing the manager now will add further uncertainty.
I completely see that viewpoint and indeed at this moment in time see it as a sensible option, but he has to put results together straight away to change my view that he is not the leader he thinks he is.

We’re all desperate to get a least one thing sorted in this horror show.
Rooney has done nothing as manager and without Bielik’s short run in the team we would have been comfortably relegated. Just my view.
He has been fortunate that the ownership and EFL issues have taken focus away from how bad he has been as a manager, on and off the pitch but now I, like many, on the back of one very good performance am hoping, on the pitch anyway, that things are going to get better.

24Charlie reacted to Sheikh n Bake in Ravel Morrison - signed 1 year deal
In early 2011, Morrison received a 12-month referral order and was ordered to pay £1,445 in costs and compensation after admitting two counts of witness intimidation.[70] After an assault charge was dropped when Morrison's girlfriend refused to testify, he was convicted of criminal damage for throwing her mobile phone out of a window and advised to undergo domestic violence counselling.[71] In February 2012, Morrison was involved in controversy after posting a homophobic threat on Twitter, responding to criticism by calling another user a "faggot".[72] He was charged under FA rule E3, which governs use of abusive and/or insulting words including reference to a person's sexual orientation, and accepted his guilt.[73] He was fined £7,000.[74]
Morrison was remanded in custody on 31 July 2014 after being charged with two counts of common assault against a former girlfriend and her mother.[75] He was freed on bail after three days in custody.[76] In August 2014 he appeared at Manchester Crown Court entering not-guilty pleas to two counts of assault, one of assault causing actual bodily harm and one count of harassment. A provisional trial date was set for 26 January 2015.[77] In November 2014 he was found not guilty of the harassment charge of threatening to throw acid in the face of his ex-girlfriend and have her killed after the Crown Prosecution Service withdrew the charge.[78] On 15 January 2015, Morrison was cleared of all charges of assaulting his ex-girlfriend and her mother.[79]
    No thanks.

At least it show’s that Tom is committed to the club.
Despite what many think he has a very good goals and assist record at this level and could easily find another club and as he’s in his prime he’ll get a decent contract too.
So for him to take the job shows he’s prepared to stay even when the future for us is so uncertain. He could well be captaining a club with a 12 point deduction in the near future.
Others have already gone but not Tom.
We all know that on his day he can destroy teams, perhaps he’ll show that side more.
No doubt this is a brave call from Rooney and it’s clearly aimed at unlocking his undoubted talent on a more consistent basis.

It's a tricky one and not one with a single answer really because it depends on the game and the kid really. One thing I will say is that 90 mins is a long time to expect football (as a spectator anyway) to amuse someone of that age. You will definitely need some distractions and as others have said, food, drinks and even a backstop of a phone game if you need to.
Key thing is, if it isn't a total roaring success first time at that age then don't be either too surprised or too downhearted. If you need to fall back on alternative entertainment plans during phases of a game then don't feel that you've failed. The entertainment nuances of a 0-0 draw with Luton in front of a flat crowd is hard to sell to a youngster. If you can get him to engage for a reasonable chunk of the game then take that. If the goals are flying in then it's easier to keep them entertained so basically with Derby you're screwed ?
I first took my lad when he was 7 for a Boxing Day game and he was swept up with the whole occasion and big crowd with plenty of noise. He has never been that fussed about a season ticket but he still comes to odd games with me and likes away games in particular.

Make sure you buy him chips at HT and he'll always want to come back. Slowly he'll watch more and more and before you know it he will be hooked.
Even now I'm still demanding those chips at HT while going to watch my team ❤ (much to my dad's displeasure, I'm 27, he tells me I can buy my own damn chips now if I want them ?)

Give it a go .. it won’t do any harm to be with his Dad doing boy/Dad stuff together. He’ll probably be bored, will deffo need a wee at the wrong moment but these are special moments. I got married too late to have kids but I took my nephew to PP for his first football game when he was 6. He loved it, he lives and breaths footy, got his refs qualifications. Worked at Sky Sports for a while and is now at discovery. We have weekly football catch ups. He’s a Luton Boy but always keeps an eye on the Rams and even though we lost to Charlton 3-1 he remembers the goal we scored like it was yesterday. I can’t ! ?

I love to see young ones at matches- shame about the foul  language.
my daughter was 7 ish when she unfortunately saw some Preston fans going by in a coach mooning. We were playing them at Preston in the playoffs the following weekend & I’d got us tickets. all week she kept asking if she could do that if we won (clearly I said no!). I’m not going to lie when I say I was slightly relieved that we lost that match!!

Took both of mine from 2. Pop to the loo lots just before kick off and at half time as my youngest had a habit of choosing key moments to go. Like others have said take something to amuse him as even if he loves it his attention may go at times. Also helpful for those around you if they get bored - many a time I saw others watching the kids program on the tablet.  Hope he enjoys - its a lovely thing to do together. I was that age in the glory years but dad never took me which I dont let him forget

Thanks very much for the excellent responses and great advice. He loves kicking his football about but I suppose it's more about the awe inspiring sight and sounds of a football match that will grab him.
This friendly with a small but upbeat crowd seems ideal to blood the lad.
I think I'll go for it. Hopefully there'll be some pairs of tickets left tomorrow and as I can't buy him one today.
