But the immediate football is pointless. Just a bunch on lads who’ll be playing for nothing. Knowing they’ll be relegated from the start. We’ll lose the good young players and our better players. Just seems a bit pointless us playing the rest of the season

Pretty sure if we don’t finish the season’s fixtures we will be massively punished. EFL won’t just let us put our feet up and start in league one next season. We will probably learn a thousand times more about the players character and ability in this time of crisis than we ever would in a season of mid table obscurity. We all know we will have to suffer as a club but personally would just like it now rather than dragging on for what seems an eternity

That’s this season done then. 38 pointless games from now on then? we knew it was gonna be a tough season but duck me -21 points. Just purely ruins the championship this year. Makes us uncompetitive in the league and it’s only September

I disagree. This season is far from done. The outcome inevitably will be relegation but it allows us @ 10 months to prepare for next season. We can offload players we don’t want or can’t afford. Blood players who will be needed next year and scout players who will be great in league one. We can build momentum and togetherness amongst fans and staff alike and hit league one with all guns blazing!!! This is probably the most important period in our recent history, far, far from done

Well EFL had already offered 9 points (less than 21) and Mel would have smelt the coffee and waived his (unsecured ) claims.

And if they were going to buy through administration MSD would I think have tried to set up a quick purchase to avoid extended costs/trauma.

Let’s see. One point that supports your view is that I think it might be HMRC’s policy only to compromise claims after an insolvency event has occurred. And this would force administration even if Dell is the ultimate buyer

Nine points for the last set of re-submitted accounts. The latest 3 years are bound to break ffp too I suspect and incur further punishment in coming seasons. The administration team will clean the slate. Painful now but short and sharp, rather than death by a thousand cuts

But the As are going to conduct an auction

I think that if MSD was wanting to buy administration would have been avoided

Why???? The debt to Morris and others  was still on our books and the EFL punishment not likely to resolved with Morris still around. This way they have certainty that all issues will be legally resolved prior to putting pen to paper

Anybody else get the feeling we might have a buyer lined up imminently? If not why else we would be so happy to rush this through, we could have dragged this out for a while longer but it seems we could be giving a new owner a complete clean slate.

The administrators role is to tie it up as quickly  and neatly as possible. They realistically know they are selling a league one club with massive potential. Not saying a buyer isn’t waiting in the wings and hopefully there is but they would operate like this regardless

I just feel it coming … we end up with minus 16 and just before we go down the EFL announce (regretfully ?) that after much research and diligence we are due another 9 from the beginning of next season. Surely someone dispassionate like an administrator must be able to get the EFL to be up front about what they want and what they are going to do about all sanctions for past deeds. They have months to do it.

The EFL are dealing with professionals now and not Morris. They will give us due punishment and we will have it legally tied up. Personally I don’t care if it’s 4 or 44 as I think we will be in league one regardless. For the first time in months I feel the bottom of this mess may be in sight. At least when we finally get there. The only way is up COYR

Isn’t there a rule in place where there is a 28 day grace period for a fans consortium to put an offer in. I can’t see a takeover happening that soon. I suppose it depends how far the buyer who apparently pulled out last week was down the line, fit and proper test, proof of funds etc.

Yes deffo a 28 day rule which is why I said takeover in 27. I don’t expect it either to be sorted that quickly but if a buyer is in place, it shouldn’t take long. Big IF though

  8. I don’t think this is a massive issue IF the administrator has a viable buyer lined up. If he can assure the players that a new owner will be in place in 27 days time and will pay the wages then. I think those who can afford to wait probably will. If the administrator has no idea about a new owner then I can’t see us completing this season’s fixtures as the players will rightly get payed employment elsewhere

I may have missed it as I was a little late switching on and had to make a cuppa halfway through, but was he asked/did he say:

    - why he'd chosen Friday (just before an important match) to put us into admin?

    - if the new accounts showed we'd breached FFP by £4M in 2017/18 (which he reckoned was a 4 point penalty), why hadn't he snapped the EFL's hand off and moved on asap?

    - why he left the players and manager to find out aabout admin via Sky?

    - what part MSD will play in admin?

I saw that someone on here claimed it was a good interview - seems to me that the really big questions weren't even asked.....

Perhaps he should drop a bombshell every Friday night if it instigates the incredible reaction from players and fans we witnessed yesterday afternoon

    He does explain that.

I think you will find he explained why some clubs were not affected  like Derby but by no means could he explain why all other clubs were not similarly affected. I think we were holed below the waterline prior to Covid19 if I’m honest. I am glad he is keeping hold of the stadium at this stage though. If as some are suggesting, he gifts it to the club. Then it will just become a saleable asset for the administration team to dispose of if a new buyer doesn’t materialise

On the contrary, I want to hear what he has to say. Then I can make my own mind up about it before it is twisted, misinterpreted,  slanted either way to suit people's agendas before posting on here.

If you don’t want to hear a twisted, misinterpreted or slanted version of the situation to suit a person’s agenda. Then I suggest you don’t listen to the interview

It's a strange one. I'd never heard of it in football - just 'we have gone into administration' or some similar phrase.

The appointment of an administrator is needed if a company is trying to enter a CVA ( Jamie’s Italian restaurants) and doesn’t involve actually going into administration if a write down of debt can be achieved. Absolutely no idea if MM is trying this or even if it is allowed for a football club

Great game today. From my seat behind the goal in the North Stand I was treated to two goals.

The flight of Bird’s strike left the keeper rooted to the spot and in an effort to redeem himself he flew out and was then completely bamboozled by Curtis’s nod on.

From a physiological point of view a I think we can survive 12 but 21 is totally different.

12 gives us something to fight for and the players will dig in but if it’s 21 they’ll start thinking if it’s worth putting their bodies on the line for a lost cause.

I wonder how many is too much psychological speaking.

I think 12 is too many to survive  The psychological effect on the squad when we are rock bottom of the league is massive. Shef Wed a prime example last season, turned to poo straight after the points deducted

  14. IF he walks away or is forced out, he should do it with his head held high. A proper gentleman, operating with one and now both hands tied behind his back, yet sees us in the top half of the table. Thanks for your loyalty, hard work and incredible dignity. I wish him a glittering career in management. Just hope more of it is with Derby

  15. Assuming Morris isn’t anywhere near the place then possible protests have been superseded by tonights events. I hope the support is tremendous but I can’t see too many with the appetite for full throttled support after tonight’s kick in the gonads. I expect a shell shocked atmosphere but hope gallows humour prevails
