It’s lively in Yarm. We’ve added a new verse to the Allez Allez Allez song but I can’t quite hear it. Any ideas?
Derby’s new relegation battle song… ? “Wayne Rooney is our gaffer, he’s bleeding black and white. When Everton came calling, he said I'll stay and fight. They docked us 21 points, but we don't give a duck. Cause we are Derby County, and we are staying up!” ?

I am expecting rather than just hoping that this will start a domino effect and the obstacles standing in the way of us exiting administration will start to topple one by one. Please don’t let this be another false dawn. Not sure many on here could take another kick in the nuts. Onwards and upwards COYR

Or the EFL take away our league membership because we can’t fulfil our fixtures, which would mean no takeover could happen.
That won’t actually liquidate us although as we both know, in practice it will mean the start of the liquidation process ( unless premier league are willing to take us ?? )

Just had a thought. For us to be liquidated the following would need to happen (I think)
1) a creditor lodge a wining up petition to the court
2) the court issue a winding up order, after considering the financial situation of the club
Would a court issue a winding up order due to the presence of two so far unvalued claims for compensation?
Not the case. The admins will file to liquidate us if all avenues out of this mess are exhausted and we have no monetary means to keep operating. Normally a winding up order is issued by a creditor so that the assets can be sold and they can recoup some of the monies owed. In our instance, we have zero assets. The ground is owned by MM, the players can’t be sold as assets, their contracts will be cancelled and become free agents.

In some ways its one of the best seasons since the days of Jim Smith.
No "we should be beating clubs like..., are we ready for the PL, we won't go up with Keogh" etc
No in-fighting, no anger towards players, no wrist slashers or happy clappers
Just pretty much everyone is like "feck it. We'll give it a go"
Besides the stress it makes you very proud of Derby fans, players, staff and Derby people. Which hasn't always been the case in much happier times.
This is the vital ingredient that’s been missing over recent years. We’ve had players good enough to get us to the premier league. But have lacked the togetherness and never say die attitude to achieve the sum of the parts. It’s what won Leicester the premier league title. We at last have a team to be immensely proud of. If we can keep this team and team spirit and add a little depth and quality, then the sky is the limit. Absolutely loved it last night

If it wasn’t feasible then why release a statement to the Press Association? It’s just making yourself look silly if it’s not feasible
As I said before to try and salvage his credibility/reputation. Not an hope in hell it will happen. Him and Gibson have been comparing dick sizes for years. It’s just MM still trying to pretend he’s the bigger man

A simplistic point
Would Mel Morris provide a statement to the Press Association, of all the places, that he was willing to take on the cases personally instead of Derby County, without knowing whether he can actually do it?
I know Morris is Morris, and this doesn’t help those on here enjoying going round and round in circles playing Mr Know It All…but come on!
I think he knows full well that it won’t be feasible and even if it was, Boro and WW would reject it. Trying in vain to save what remains of his shattered reputation

They've only been above 20,000 for 3 of the last 6 games. This is a side who're on the verge of the playoffs, having lost just once since the end of November.
They have a very poor take up of the kids for a quid offer. Most are just left in hotels instead

[Rooney:] "But I believe Lee has got everything to be a top centre back. He will play there again tomorrow [Tuesday] at centre back and it is a good opportunity for him to go and show his qualities."
I always preferred him as CB too when he played there in the u23s.
Little surprised Wayne has announced this today. Gives Hull 24 hours plus to do their homework on a player I’m sure they know bee little about

How about this
Derby county and city of Derby black and white in your blood
Derby shall never walk alone
We walk in the darkness and back in the light
Derby is alive and we are staying alive and we love our Derby county.
What tune are we singing this to?

Worse day of my football life. Steve Walsh lived a couple of doors away from me at the time. Not only did I have the disappointment of a game we should have won by 6. I also had months of ridicule from the match winner

Rush was appointed as the president and chief executive of Derby County in September 2012. In November 2014 he was named FC Business Championship chief executive of the year. All going pretty well during his time at the club under the ownership of GSE. In October 2015, Rush signed a new five-year contract at Derby with Morris stating: “Rush is a big reason for the turnaround in the football club and a main for reason for me having joined the club”. A couple of years later Rush is accused by Morris of <cough> “gross misconduct and breach of fiduciary duty"<cough> although the matter never made Court, despite Morris “relishing the opportunity”.
Im not blaming Rush for our plight and his tenure prior to MM arriving was impressive. However we cannot ignore the fact he was in charge 2015-2017 when the foundations for our current plight were being laid. He was at best unable/unwilling to reign in the over spending on mediocrity by MM or at worst fully complicit in it. Either way I wouldn’t be welcoming him back with open arms

Why would being English make him a better owner though?
Appleby is a former Derby Chairman and Rush is a former Derby CEO. Doesn't that mean they'd know how to run Derby better than Ashley?
Ashley has run an English team sustainably for well over a decade. Rush was in post during our spell of frivolous spending (at best) that caused our current problems. I would say that makes Ashley far better qualified. Don’t want to speak for Kathcairns but I think being English provides a better understanding of the history and culture of the club and area. Not sure why people seem to want to read more info it than that

He’s said he’ll clear any claims from Boro and that other club if proved guilty.
He didn’t say that exactly. He said he would clear any debts through the high court if proven guilty. Knowing full well that Boro or WW will not entertain the idea for 1 moment. I am just hoping this is his opening gambit and will come back with a more realistic option

Credit for Mel, that move was unexpected but has to be applauded.
My guess is that Gibson is too deep into this whole matter and also take it personally so he won't back down. Couhig might be able to do unemotional and cogntive decision and disappear into nothingness he came from.
Credit for Mel. WTF. He is like a criminal who attends court pleading not guilty. He puts the families through hell and then at the 11 th hour, with the writing on the wall. Changing his plea to guilty to try and get a reduced sentence. In this instance though, he hasn’t pleaded guilty. Merely offered the other side a costly and time consuming way to prove him guilty. I don’t think there is any chance they will take up this “ offer”. When they can continue to bleed us out with the backing of the EFL
-
They will never go to court as they know they will lose. They will persist through the EFL though as chancers can always win in a kangaroo court. I think this is Mel trying to shame them into dropping it.

Oh, I will say this though, whilst you can argue legal reasons prevent full transparency with the fans, fully appreciate that, the way they have treated Rooney is abysmal.
When I heard that Rooney found out we had sold Plange via text from the club secretary, I just had to come off the internet.
The guy that’s holding this all together on the pitch, giving us hope which is seeing revenue brought into the club through ticket sales, you have to at least be open with him face to face, even if he has no say in the final decision. If you push him over the edge, this thing goes down without a fight.
Without Rooney right now, we are in a mess.
Assume you meant a bigger mess

Just been on Sky sports news on the banner that Festy is having a medical in Udinese and will be joining them in the summer.
It didn’t say anything about loaning him back for the rest of the season. I think this will be a pre contract agreement as his contract is up this summer.
No fee was mentioned.
This really is a kick in the nuts.
The worst so far imo.?
Not saying it’s not true but can’t see the point of a medical ahead of a summer move. Anything can happen in 6 months. Surety he would sign subject to a medical after the season finishes
