Interesting that the FA statement does not exonerate Wildsmith from the handball decision but states
“The FA has now confirmed that Wildsmith did not prevent a clear denial of a goalscoring opportunity”
This clearly is in my opinion to prevent thre referee from being highlighted as wrong in his decision making. It would be a lot more useful to the game in general for them to just state the referees decision was wrong.

Yes, Mel over spent on tripe and ruined the harmony in the dressing room by doing so, he can take the vast majority of the blame for why we are in league one but he’s not the one forcing us to use Sunday league style tactics and making a good squad of players look poor, that’s the fault of our current manager, a man that doesn’t get the best out of the players at his disposal or use them to their strengths.
Did Mel want the limelight, Yes
Did he make rash decisions, Yes
Did he take us from the cusp of promotion to broken in league one, yeah he f****** did.
But, he spent a fortune of his own money doing so and I believe deep down he did it because he loved the club and wanted to return them to the top flight, yes, he’d of loved the adulation but on the whole his intentions were good.
Us currently playing like we think the ball is full of Semtex is not his fault.

I’m under the impression he’s already aware we all hate him?
Does blaming him again get him to right his wrongs?  Is that even possible?  I doubt it!
Strikes me we are better off just trying to move on?  🤷‍♂️

Last year was a nightmare. The almost unthinkable nearly happened - we were so close to losing our beloved football club, founder members of the football league, champions under Clough and Mackay, FA cup winners after the war and European Cup semi-finalists.
David Clowes, a genuine fan with the means to do so, rescued the club at the last minute. He himself says it "was close".
Thanks to him, we have a club, our club.
We must learn the lessons of the past. We must not get into the same precarious mess ever again.
But....we can move on. We must move on. We should now look forward. We do not have to merely be content that the club is still in existence.
It's ok to demand more from the manager, the teams on the pitch (not just the first team but especially them).
We should demand exciting, entertaining football that gets results. It does not mean that we won't forever be grateful to David Clowes for saving the club.
It means we want Derby County to once again be a beacon for good football. Attacking football. Positive football. Entertaining football.
That means passing football, intricate moves, running with the ball, creating chances. It doesn't mean sitting back and hoping to score from a corner or a free kick.
I like Paul Warne, the man. But I don't like his tactics. I don't like his desire to play 3-5-2 with the players he has available, I don't like his use of players out of position or not giving the academy players a chance. I don't like the emphasis on set pieces rather than attacking play.

Will the players gel? Will the manager be brave enough to drop certain players if others fit better, (no England manager has done that since Alf Ramsey for instance).
There's a lot of luck/chance/refs decisions etc that go into a promotion season, the only way us fans can influence it is by giving our players confidence and support when they need it and making it hostile for the away team.
 

Personally, I'd miss Collo.
He makes it so much easier to believe that I too could pull on the shirt at first team level.

My son has just bought a season ticket at Stoke (don't ask 🤬) a few games in and they reduced the price pro-rata. I assume they will do the same if you ask. Maybe?
