Agreed, Shinnies assist against Luton this week was perfectly weighted.
Unfortunately for the wrong team.

The reality may well be that as legal costs are rarely awarded against unsuccessful claimants then it would have been cheaper for Morris to settle out of court.
Or that he was going to lose anyway so there was no mileage in then adding his own legal fees to the compensation that he would have had to pay out to Rush.
He may also have wanted to avoid unsavoury behaviour on his part being regurgitated in the press during the reporting of the case.
Whatever option you choose it doesn't reflect well on Morris.

That's actually really interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Obviously, the pictures are only the artists' impressions of the real thing who will be congregating at the "whatever the Richo is called now" on saturday.

Not sure if these were all seen on a matchday at the Coventry Building Society Arena....

Grotesque faces of Coventry uncovered
Face-pullers, tongue-stickers, green men, skeletal remains, demons and dragons are all among the many grotesque faces of Coventry, documented in a new project.
Artist Mary Courtney has worked with historian Dr Daniel Reed to pinpoint the hundreds of grimacing faces that look down upon the city.
A "monstrous visual feast of gothic wonders," are to be found, she said.
They have produced a digital map and an exhibition detailing the top 100.
"You have to look up, they're behind things or under things," she said.
"They're in the dark, the semi dark or in the dim so you actually feel like an explorer - that is part of the fascination."
"I was just really intrigued because they looked so roguish, rude and fascinating and every one of them is different and it just developed into a bit of an obsession."

That was the immediate cause though as I said earlier. Not the root cause.
You must be right I must be a bit thick then.

From the Wigan appeal (para 62)
"We reject the submission of Mr Taylor QC that there were other, also effective, causes,
including the significant increase in the Club’s players’ wages and on transfers. That
these made the Club increasingly dependent on the owner’s continuing support is clearly
true. But so long as that support continued, the ship would have stayed afloat. It was
only when the owner pulled the plug that it sank."
In Derby's case as spending on transfer and wages has actually been decreasing for some years I would have thought the conclusion that wages and transfers were not the cause would have even stronger effect.
Whether it will be similar with Wigan it was all the owners fault for pulling the plug and not due to covid I think is less clear. Their owner only lasted a few days so not much sympathy for him from anyone. We shall see.
My main concern is not what an indepenent panel will decide it could go either way and must abide by that.
But what if there is another insolvency event and the holding company is liquidated. The fate of the club is then entirely in the hands of EFL. We could be expelled from the League.
And yes, as I have said many times I do not trust EFL any further than they could be thrown.

I'm fascinated by the number of times Rooney picks at his right nostril during post match interviews.
Might do the same during pre match interviews as well but haven't given them as much attention.

Tyler Durden reacted to angieram in Holiday Plans 2021
Not telling people you're going on holiday is all well and good, but I got broken into when out walking the dog, only out of the house for an hour. Came back and the lad was in my living room, he scarpered pretty quick through the same window he had smashed to enter, cut himself in the rush and kindly left his dna all over the glass and blinds.
Police were very grateful as they had been trying to pin a series of break ins on him and the evidence he left duly obliged.
Nothing was taken but how I felt about it lived with me for many months afterwards.

Pay on the day...and right up to kick off. How quaint. And a great idea for a club strapped for cash to imitate.

Tyler Durden reacted to RAM1966 in Mel Morris fan club
He wasn't gambling with his own money though, he's run up a poo load of debt. He's gambled with the HMRCs money, he's gambled with the money owed to HMRC (income tax and employees & employers NI contributions) which may result in ex-employees state pensions being reduced. He has gambled with dozens of peoples jobs and long standing servants of the club like Faye Nixon have lost their jobs. I wonder how many can no longer pay their mortgages, maybe you should stand there face to face with these people and defend Mel and see what reaction you get!
About time you took your Mel Morris appreciation society specs off.........!!!!!!!

This is laughable, so what of we made a transfer profit, its about the figure at the bottom RH Corner of the balance sheet that matter. How much did we still lose that financial year. All because of the ridiculous wage bill Morris allowed to be built up during his tenure!!!!

Is that called gambling though? In the same way that Ridsdale got Leeds into their financial mess by gambling every year that their huge outlays on players transfers and wages would be covered by them qualifying for the Champions League and the season they didn't precipitated their financial ruin?

Is your Factory Manager called Neil Stevenson btw?
Used to work with him a few years ago and am sure he said he was going to run the biscuit factory in Uttoxeter.

Waste of 300k that could have been used to keep people in jobs.
No chance we win this appeal given the state of our finances. To say COVID is the sole reason we are where we are is just false.

Retired now but during my unbroken 47 years of employment I went through 5 instances where a new company took over so had to go through the horrible process of applying either for my existing role or something similar. At the very least employees should be treated as individuals and with respect - not always the case sadly.
Not saying it's the same for everyone but as each situation happened I became less stressed as to the outcome. Fingers crossed that you and your colleagues (and no doubt a few good friends amongst them) find suitable employment - being elected by your fellow workers says a lot about you and the high regard they must hold you in.
Best of luck mate.

Do they though? I'm not saying that to be contentious btw. I can't remember the last time I HAD to pay cash for anything, in fact I could have gone out just with my contactless card and not needed cash at all for anything at all.
There probably is a split with the younger generation favouring contactless payments over cash compared to the older generation but for me cash went out with square wheels.
