Why send Thompson out on loan 🤔 He was beginning to look like the midfielder we desperately need 😊

Warne isn't a risk taker, he's a plodder. We needed goals today (only a Cup game after all) and at no time did I think he'd bring Brown on.

In the position we are in, lacking goals, finishing off the chances we create, and nearly 2 months off the transfer window, would you stick with the experience in the likes of  Collins/Waggy/Wash? or would you be happy to take a risk in pushing our youth players like Brown where it might take them a few games to bed in but could potentially be better than all the others we have?
Just wondering where the rest of you stand?
For me, I'd much rather take the risk with Brown, seeing as Warne has stipulated goals need to be spread out across the team and we don't have a nailed on goal scorer. It seems like the perfect time to trying out new options.

There's positive and there's inventive. We didn't score either of our goals from a cross. But we kept trying. There is that positive enough for you?
NO way did we outclass Crewe.

I agree let's see how Saturday goes before everyone getting too excited! We have been here already this season, now we have to kick on and show this level of performance week in week out.

Yep. Nothing I'd like more than to get out of this league this season, even with Warne as manager - but you know really all I care about is sacking Warne. 😄

It matters when the manager sets the 'agenda' for the type of player the club recruit, and the style of play that is watched by the fans.

Paul Warne gaining his wins in the 3rd division where as others around him played 1st or 2nd division teams. If he was managing the team in the league above I would understand it. But when you're not beat Stevenage and Cheltenham then it does throw these kind of stats into question.

Poor bloke will probably come out looking shell shocked. The reaction against him is massive now. I don't want him to stay, but I don't want him to suffer either.

    f*** that.
That's lower than our current ppg of 1.5.
At a bear minimum I'd be demanding 10 points. Looking at the opposition that should be eminently possible.

I understand that when the football isn’t pretty, and the league position is dire, football fans will inevitably lash out. However, I am amazed that there are a good number on here tonight slating our owner. This is a staggering state of affairs even for our club, only some 15 months since he saved us.  Cool it down lads.

In all fairness Bird nearly cost us a goal by shying out of a header. Thought Bird had a good game apart from this

Ignore that can't seem to delete it.
Didn't think Sibley was that bad - he shows for the ball and helps us have some control in the game.  He didn't beat players tonight but for me he was average - not great but not poor.   Waggy wasn't great either but again possibly did enough to keep his place.    It was a better performance and I think maybe in part because we had more technically good and more forward thinking positive players in there.   I wouldn't want to drop Sibley for a Smith or a Fornah.   Possibly Barkhuizen could play that role but he may be more suited to wide areas where typically there is more space

I would play Barks as a striker, it’s his preferred position and let’s face it, it’s worth a try.
