Turk Thrust got a reaction from The_Sheriff in New joke thread (trigger alert, may offend if you want it to)
My nephew and niece Archibald and Nina were playing ball with me when the ball hit my head and I fell down. They started crying but I said “don’t cry for me Archie and Nina”

Orient. My nearest team and a lovely little friendly club with a great supporters club that regularly wins the CAMRA award.

Steep angle. And “Pizz”? Is that a cross between “piss” and “wazz”?

Urolagnia - sexual excitement with the sight or thought of urine or urination, or being watched while urinating. We all do don’t we? Or is it just me?

Ah my subject area. You can often trace where the Danes settled by the old Danish suffix “by” which equates with the Anglo Saxon “borough” , (hence by-laws). Lincolnshire is full of villages ending in by. Around Derby there is Bretby (named by Danes for the place where Celtic peoples (Britons) lived, Ingleby (Danish name for the town of the English), Normanton (English name (town) for the place where Normans (Northmen) in other words Danes, lived and Denby (Danish for town of the Danes). It shows within a small area how celts, Anglo Saxons and Danes lived and got on)
And of course there is Derby, town of the deer, but not the animal we now call deer. Deer then meant any wild animal (cognate with modern German “tier” animal, beast)
“Thorpe” in the Danelaw is another Danish test word for a small village (cognate with modern German dorf.)

Yep. From the old expression “Life is meat and potatoes, and the luxuries are gravy” so the modern phrase “different gravy” means a standard is so high that comparison with anything is pointless.

For me as a 13 year old the Div 3 north seasons were some of the best times as a Rams fan, Ray Straw a 36 goal scoring Centre forward, Martin Mcdonnell still one of my all time favourite players, he was an ex paratrooper and if he fell to the ground he would do a parachute roll. I remember that team with a fondness matched only by the championship winning teams. I am looking forward to Saturday after noon football again this season, my interest was beginning to wain with all the midweek games I didn't attend. I have a feeling we will have a very good League 1 season, Champions maybe. But no 36 goal scorer. UPTR.

If a man saw his sister fall down, why couldn’t he help her?
because he can’t be a brother and assist her too.

Turk Thrust got a reaction from Rev in Derbyshire CCC - Mickey Arthur Appointed
I like reading this thread of the forum. I’m of an era when Les Jackson and Harold Rhodes reigned supreme and I watched Derbyshire then until I moved first to Brum and then to London where I am now. Lost my way a bit with the team but it’s good to catch up. Thanks.

Alpine team principal Otmar Szafnauer "Fernando said he had a proposal to continue driving with us next year, I told him to put it to Mike Krack, but fortunately he misunderstood me and had a constructive conversion with Mike Krack "
I know I'm childish but I'm not sure I'm ever going to not make a Mike Krack joke.

Alright Rams, Guiseley (who?) fan here in peace.
I came to the Oxford game on Saturday with my mate (Wolves fan).
It was our first trip to Pride Park between us and usually we pick a random game every so often. So we ended up at your place.
We had a great time, your stadium is fantastic. Plenty of eateries around the ground too. The fans we were sat near were passionate and it was infectious. We were in the North Stand which was family orientated but it was nice to see so many youngsters getting behind the team.
The atmosphere was great, the bounce by the south stand was something I won't forget. Capped with a great goal to get the win aswell.
Only downside being, we parked at the industrial park past the south stand and we didn't move for about an hour after the final whistle. But that didn't spoil a great day out.
All the best for the season, will be looking out for your results and will likely come back later in the season too.
