“government won’t have much power”? The regulator will probably be funded by levies on the clubs. So I am sure the clubs , ie their greedy owners will not support it.But they will not have any choice.
What powers do you want or expect them to have?

Worries me. I think it actually stopped us playing somewhat yesterday. Also no good for Bielik’s knee’s! ? I know we are where we are, and it’s same for both teams etc etc but it’s going to be a muddy place come Wednesday night
The time to start worrying about the pitch is whitewashing the penalty spot before the kick can be taken

I doubt very very few of the 72 associate clubs want government interference and are happy with the EFL and to keep the status quo.
It is the associate members who make and pass the rules on a majority basis.

The Government will remove the Football League's (and Premier league's) regulatory powers and instead create an independent regulator. Football clubs are community assets and there is every reason for the Government to do this... not least becasue a Parliamentary sub committee has already put the EFL on notice of this after the Bury debacle. It had the chance to "heal thyself", and it has spectacularly failed to take that chance.
Then we had the Tracey Crouch fan-led review and the clear indicators from Government ministers now are that the Government is minded to accept this.
But I do take your point, be careful what we wish for and an independent regulator on itself is not a panacea for all of footbal's ills.
With the FA and EFL being associate members of EUFA and FIFA the government won't have much power even if it introduces an independent panel. There are other instances were the government have said "heal yourself" or we will do something about it but little has been done, they like to talk big but in reality nothing comes of it. Why should the taxpayers pay for another quango.

With heavy rain forecast in the next few hours I just hope the pitch is playable. I have been told the heaters that help the grass grow through the winter were sold off at the start of the season.
The heaters that help your "grass" grow cost a lot of money to run, i am sure if the administrators had asked someone would have bypassed the leccy meter for them.

So, had another response from the EFL, asked when they would be charging Middlesbrough with bringing the game into disrepute with regard to their unfounded allegations of another member club 'systematically cheating'.
The EFL response:-
Generally speaking, if any Club wishes to bring a matter to the attention of the EFL in relation to any of our regulations then they can do so.
So it appears that you can do whatever you want as long as another club does not report you?
I have responded asking why they need someone else to point it out to them, when the statement was released into the public domain.
If i was the EFL i would tell you to go through the correct channels and raise the matter with the clubs administrators, they don't have to respond to you in any way, shape or form.

Not just that. If Rooney is to leave DCFC it isn't going to be to go to Preston North End.
No disrespect intended to Preston, but that just won't be the case.
I am glad you are so sure.

I’m sorry but I think Wayne has more attachment to DCFC than he does to Chris Kirchner.
He is here to do a job and as he has said will see it through, that doesn't mean he has more attachment. He is doing a great job but who is to say the eventual new owner will want him to stay on.

Chris Kirchner interested in Preston now (according to the Sun). https://www.deepdaledigest.com/news/preston-north-end-chris-kirchner-takeover/
If Rooneys agent is still part of the Kirchner bids and he does buy, whether it's Preston or another Championship club i certainly think he will want Rooney as his manager, would suit them both, Rooney is high profile in the US and is seeing what he is doing on a shoestring with us. Rooney because Kirchner will bank role him and raise his profile as a manager. If/when we come out of administration we are still restricted as to what we can do until the business plan comes to an end.

That's correct as the consequence of going into administration I think.
It all depends on what and how the new owners come to servicing the creditors, the business plan can be over Two years,

The people interested in the club arent philanthropists they are doing it because they think they can lever some benefit for themselves hence the price has to be right.
If they think are going to have to pay more for the club than they think it's worth then they'll simply walk away and look to progress something else, they haven't made their money by getting involved in random bidding wars.
They'll all know what an acceptable price is for the acquisition, if it goes beyond that then they'll just move on.
True, people are getting ahead of themselves now that the situation between the Two egotists has been resolved, there is still a massive amount of debt and if they don't want to cover that then they walk away, the deal for the club won't be any cheaper.

Must admit, "Flicks" is a term I am familiar with, but never used personally. I know "Why" it was called that, but no idea "Where" it started, so my reference to The good old U S of A was a complete shot in the dark, if I'm honest!
I do (just) remember that building being a cinema (or still looking like one, at least) but I'm a decade or so behind you, (b. '63) so never attended.
My Saturday mornings were spent at The Odeon on London Rd. Was never a fan of The ABC. Probably around the time the little "d" was being replaced by a little "p", although the odd tanner or thru'penny bit were still around! ??
No such luxuries for us in the Alfreton area, it was Saturday morning matinee at Alfreton "flix", got in cheaper if you were a member of the "tufty club". Upstairs front seats in the balcony peashooter at the ready.

Looking for trouble, they can't find it because they are wearing them back to front.

I totally agree that they won’t know what to do with humour when expecting vitriol, but also agree with the response before that people might think we mean it.
Personally, I am expecting 90 mins of “Stevie Gibson w*nks off dogs”. If anyone complains, we can just say it might not be true, but we don’t know it’s not, and so we have to act as though it might be true. That’s the logic that seemed to apply to us stopping Boro getting to the premiership. Makes perfect sense.
Even though MM & SG came to some sort of conclusion last night i don't think it's done anything to diffuse the situation today.

If Mr Gibson has agreed an ACCORD does that make him an ACCORDION?
ie: A wheezy wind box that makes an excruciating bleating sound when you press his buttons and put the squeeze on?

I don't know for sure but would hope once a preferred bidder can show proof of funds until the end of the season then the embargo could be lifted.
I don't think anything changes until a new owner is announced, a preferred bidder is just that, they then have to negotiate a business plan with the EFL

Occurs to me that the use of the word "accord" is interesting - I'm pretty sure that translates as "it's not resolved but we've agreed on how we're going to fight it out"
However it does diffuse tensions ahead of tomorrow which I think we can all be thankful for.
My speculation is if Gibson can feel he bested Morris he'll leave DCFC alone.
I'm just waiting for the announcement at 8PM tomorrow night that due to unforeseen circumstances it is not possible for the parties to come to an amicable agreement
