you are right they can't force people to buy the club.

what they can do is make the club easier and a better prospect to buy. they sat around twiddling their thumbs about the boro case until mel and gibson themselves sorted it. i know we all dont want players to be sold but they needed to be, i argued this at the time the responbility of admins is to raise funds. now half of those players we could have paid for the rest of this season are going on a free transfer for nothing and that is them writing off millions of pounds at the off chance that we stay in the division

They can't win, people were saying if we sold the young talent in the transfer window it makes the club a less viable proposition. At that time they probably had a good idea that they would be able to name a bidder but things haven't turned out that way, matters are still fluid and can still change from day to day.

I would love to know how they could make the club an easier and better prospect to buy.

no doubt. mel got us into this mess, he should be held accountable and be taking to court by the tax man.

but it's now the admins job to get us OUT of the mess which they seem incapable of doing

I don't think they are incapable of doing it, it's their job to get us out of this if it is financially possible. If it isn't there is nothing they can do despite all their efforts.

And if they haven't then there is no news , so wtf is EFL doing issuing a statement now? Like I say pure unprofessional poo stirring.

Not at all,the extension expires today, the EFL have heard nothing so why shouldn't they put it out there,if they hadn't people on here would be going mad at the EFL asking why we haven't been told anything as the extension is up.

Think the bidders are part of the problem in itself, they don't want to offer over a certain amount to avoid us being hit by a further 15 point sanction which in turn makes us even less of an attractive proposition.

Indeed, so the bidders have 3 options. Pay enough for the club to avoid a 15 point deduction. Buy the club for as little as possible and get a 15 point deduction for failing to meet the rules of exiting administration without receiving a 15 point deduction, or lastly, keep your money in your pocket and walk away.

Don't you see though how the new owners are inextricably linked to the outcome of point 2?

If the prospective bidders won't offer enough for the club to satisfy the EFL rules on creditors then yes they automatically will be aware that the club they are bidding for will be subject to a further 15 point sanction.

Which probably means that the prospective bidders don't think that the club is worth that much to them to avoid this.

If we find ourselves in League 1 how many of the out of contract players including the youngsters are going to stick around with a 15 point deduction to overcome, perhaps the bidders have wanted to possibly know how many may be willing to re-sign before committing.

Even Ashley won't be interested if it includes a 15 point deduction next season and no team.

If the EFL require an urgent update, old school I know but, why don’t they pick you phone up and ask them?

I’m assuming they’ve made their request via email which most of us know can be easily ignored.

Because the EFL shouldn't be having to phone them for an update, the onus is on the administrators to keep the EFL informed. If they can't give them an update,or won't, then you can't be surprised by the EFL's stance, certainly no point scoring on their behalf.

exactly right. we are wasting our breath shouting at the efl and shouting conspiracy against us. the people that can sort it out are doing nothing. i am sick of them lying to us over and over again.

if you set your own deadlines then bloody speak when nothing happens afterwards, unbelievable

Perhaps we are too far gone to sort anything out and can't release anything until the agreed extension time is up.

More lies and absolute tripe by these charlatans, couldn’t run a bath.

Perhaps the bids received have not met their valuation and isn't suitable for the creditors or none of them are willing to stump up the required 5 Mil.

I haven't speculated any such thing. Only that it is in the interests of any creditor to accept something that is better than nothing. And the admin team are trying to get the best deal they can, why wouldn't they?

I have no doubt the administrators are doing their best, i have never questioned what they are doing or how long it is taking but there is nothing to stop anyone saying what is being offered is not acceptable.

They can't issue a winding up order if we exit via a restructuring plan because the existing company would be would up anyway. The club would be owned by a new company which would not owe HMRC a penny.

So would lose our place in the league,if you can just do a restructuring plan why are the administrators doing all this negotiating if you can carry on as before.

"the bidders obviously are not prepared to offer enough to cover 25% of the debt"?

Really? You do realise the article is in the Sun, so hardly reliable.   And even that says : "The Rams may only be able to offer less than the standard 25p in the pound to creditors".

So pretty meaningless speculation I think.

So pretty meaningless speculation I think.

No more meaningless speculation than you keep saying HMRC will accept what is offered.

  12. 29 minutes ago, CornwallRam said:

I don't think you're correct here. The point of the cram down is that it removes the distinction between creditors. Consequently, HMRC have to accept what the court agree to.

Yes but HMRC can be represented in court to say they will not accept that and will proceed to issue a winding up order. We don't know whether the HMRC offered an agreement to pay with MM which he refused or renaged on. They won't just roll over and accept what they are offered as much as some people keep using the ethos that something is better than nothing.

These business people appear to buy clubs for different reasons. Some are genuine supporters; some want to put something back to the local community; some see it as a business opportunity - building up a club to sell it on or to fleece its revenue stream.

I fear Ashley, because of his core business, wants to be involved in sport and, essentially, to have the advertising space. The (only?) positive for us is that those adverts would get more exposure if the club was in the Premier League. He also did well out of the Newcastle sale.

Won't get much exposure in L1.

Its true that Q may say they have been dealt a bum hand. But they had also said they expect there to be no penalties, so even by their own measure they will have failed if there are any penalties. And actually I don't think there will be any, it's Nixon after all, didn't he tell us Ashley had pulled out?

They won't have failed if we get additional penalties, the bidders obviously are not prepared to offer enough to cover 25% of the debt, whether creditors will accept what is offered is a different matter, it's not a given that they will.

Reading 6 point deduction - not happening so we can forget that.  Refers to wrong season for one.

From what i have seen and part of their business plan they will have one of the cheapest wage bills this season and certainly next.

High earners already gone and they have only 6 contracted players for the start of this season.  If they go down they will free fall, so they are massively fighting for club survival and championship status.

The same could equally said about us.

Not sure I have ever seen much magic from Ravel. Surprised he gets the shirt before Sibbo when we are crying out for some creativity…..

I don't get all this shout out for Sibley, most of the youngsters have greatly improved yet Sibley seems to have regressed, perhaps it's his attitude or he doesn't have the bottle for a battle, too much red mist if things aren't going his way.

Book someone for time wasting FFS. Every ducking time! ?

Sorry but every team does it when it suits them, even us. Why do people go on about how much time should be added on,we should be scoring in Ninety minutes, not hoping the ref adds enough time so we can possibly grab something.
