Jackal reacted to Jimbo Ram in January Window
But take 3 key players out of that squad with injuries, say Cashin, Knight and McGoldrick, and we would be in big trouble. Think we need a right back and striker at the very least…

Jackal reacted to hintonsboots in Joseph Anang signed on season long loan
Didn’t concede many. All the best to him.

Jackal reacted to GangwayD in Aden Flint gone to Sheff Wednesday, he was crap anyrode.
In fairness the rumour came from the newspaper. The legitimacy of it can be discussed but rightly or wrongly the club are keeping their transfer business discreet so forums/fans have little to debate - which I miss.
I agree I’d rather not have another aged 30 plus central defender though, but you can argue it’s where we are at and there has to be an element of planning for next season with so many contracts up.
Highlights the difficulty of the job for PW as not sure what league nor what players will still be here and we almost start all over again.
Kind Regards

Jackal reacted to sage in Tony Springett - signed from Norwich, loan to end of season
Spring-ett, Spring-ett Real Good
We would coordination from 3 stands
South Stand singing 'Spring it Real Good'
East Stand going da da da da ..da da da da da
West Stand making sexualised heavy breathing noises whilst gyrating their hips
Should be easy to get going

Jackal reacted to Mucker1884 in Tony Springett - signed from Norwich, loan to end of season
Allow me...
We've got Tony Springett,
He always likes to Wing it.
His nickname's "Little Wriggler",
... Makes NML a giggler!
Might need a bit of work, and absolutely no idea what the tune is at this stage, but hey, at least I got a penis based reference in there, so that gives us something to hold on to, and have a fiddle with.
Oh... erm... actually... can I rephrase that last b

Jackal reacted to Jourdan in They're playing football now, not hoofball.
It’s nice to see that Warne is converting people from sceptics to believers.
But let’s be honest, our fanbase should have been right behind him from the very beginning.
It’s not like he fluked one promotion. He’s won three. He’s a very good coach at this level and exactly what we needed.

Jackal reacted to Mckram in They're playing football now, not hoofball.
They seem to know when is the right time to try and play football and when is the right time to go direct.
I found under Rosenior we would always go short even when the team needed to get the pressure off and get up the field.
The most impressive thing is Warne has done this without signing a player. Also our back line only has one player in his ‘natural’ position…imagine if we had a bit more depth/options.

Totally agree. We really are “mixing it up” go long or play it out .. there isn’t an edict or religious dogma. We are playing football and it’s great

One of my criticisms at the beginning when Warne came in is we all knew his style was direct and get the ball into the other half as fast as we can and try and win second balls and play from there. I think the team originally struggled with what that meant and how to execute it.
One of the key differences for me in this run is that Warne is allowing his defensive players to actually work the ball and pass it between us. It’s not as frequent as the LR style but it’s a definite shift from early Warne days.
We are constantly now in the 50-60% possession stat. Wildsmith gives a lot more short goal kicks and we definitely allow CF and EC more freedoms on the ball.
I for one am really enjoying it now because it isn’t hoofball for 90 minutes. A lot of our better goals come from the passing passages of play - Hourihane header today for instance was a nice move with the EC diagonal after some passing in the defence. If you look back over the recent goals since December a lot more are worked plays. Hourihane against Accrington, McGoldrick first goal against Forest Green. All were excellent team moves.
I feel that Warne now trusts them and he’s striking the correct balance between ball retention, long balls, direct balls into Collins and playing the triangles of play to create space. There is a decent mix in there so we are not too one dimensional.
Well done Warne and his team. This is starting to get fun.

Jackal reacted to AndyB in No more transfer news leaks
LR takes some credit for the close knit group I think. When the players were being signed a lot was said about players who knew each other already and how existing squad members, such as Stearman, were used to ensure the right characters were being brought in. Given the limited time he had and the limited pool of players available due to the restrictions LR did a great recruitment job. And Warne is now doing a great job getting a tune out of players he didn’t sign.

I think it’s the mugs for scoring. We all like a free mug, and I think these mugs have a lady in underwear on them which disappears when hot liquid is poured into them.
Simple, but very effective.

Jackal reacted to MadAmster in The Sibley Enigma
Been doing very well at LB. Keeping Roberts on the bench. Best defence in L1 which is amazing when you consider the RB is a midfielder, the LB is an attacking MF whose best position may be at 10, one centre half started out his footballing life as a left winger, became a left half, then a LWB, then a LB and is now probably having the best stint of his career at CH (I wonder if Wildsmith is starting to get worried ? ) The other CH is the only one of the back 4 who is playing in his "proper" position.

Jackal reacted to KBB in The Derby De-brief on Rams TV
Owen "Im delighted to be joined by former derby captain Barker and also Gaz from the South stand who has had 6 pints of carling. So Gaz what did you think of the performance"
Gaz (inhaling deeply) "THEY DOCKED US 21 POINTS"
Owen (cutting in) "please join us next week....."

Jackal reacted to Ellafella in The Derby De-brief on Rams TV
@Owen87ITK& Sean Barker do a great job of summarising games; it’s become a must-watch for me. Sean Barker is a very insightful analyst and I think he reads the game very well. I appreciate he’s a former footballer so should understand the game very well but it doesn’t always follow that very good former professional players make great analysts.
One feature that I’d like to see though: how about a supporter who has been at the game joining in to give their reaction and analysis? The objective is purely to bring the fans’ view in so the fan doesn’t have to be as expert as say Owen and Sean - the enthusiasm and passion would add another dimension. Thoughts anyone?

His first hat-trick was all right foot finishes. His second hat-trick, all left foot.
Looking forward to his hat-trick of headers later in the season.

Jackal got a reaction from 48 hours in Bart Cybulski - joined Solihull Moors (was Matlock) on loan
Emil Riis Jakobsen was released from our academy and deemed not good enough. He went back to Randers in Denmark and now finds himself playing in the league above us with Preston. My point being, don't judge a player too harshly too early, they may turn out better than you think.
