I get (annd agree with )  so many of the well reasoned comments and stats that others have raised. He hasn’t been as influential as I thought he would be over a season. BUT ! If the chips are down there if there is one player in our squad that I would want, anywhere on the pitch, it is Jason Knight. He is a fighter of the first order and gutsy beyond measure.

Great pity if he goes but if he does then we just carry on and hope the fee is useful.

Played as a number 10, that, for me, isn’t his best position. He needs to be box to box in a 3. Can’t be solely responsible for creativity in a team like ours as a 10. For all his attributes, he’s not creative.

The world cup is long over and all he's doing is hawking his services. He never had any intention of playing for Derby again once we were relegated.
I guess a few are confused on here; for clarity, he's contracted to Derby County and should be preparing to return to the club that paid his wages and medical bills. He should be preparing to return to the club he chose to sign for, ready for pre-season, like every other Derby player, not prattling on about his prospects and keeping his options open. He hasn't and he won't, but I and others are supposed to be fine about it because he is a footballer and has 'higher ambitions'.
    Big woop 🙄

More a tugboat turning in the fog from what I've seen.  He was basically signed by clubs as he'd get 9 goals a year from corners rather than anything else.  Them day's are gone.

    Arsenal?!
As a footballer I don't think he really needed much scouting. His ability and his dominance of League One whilst on loan at Charlton was plain for all to see.
It was known that he had had some issues with injuries, but unfortunately no amount of scouting can tell you he was going to do his ACL in (even if his all action, leggy style possibly contributed)
We paid too much for him, of course, but without the ACL injuries he was a beast, so much potential

Done that a few times at work and elsewhere, so must be a boat rocker.  Most memorably going to the aid of a woman who'd been punched in the face by her boyfriend on Gower Street.  Not only did I have to tackle him and his two mates.  She got up, grabbed my hair for hurting her boyfriend and started hitting me with a stilletto.  The 5 stitches she gave me were a wonderful thank you. I'd do it again mind.  I don't back down to t**** though you can come a cropper.

You've actually hit the nail on the head in a round about way when asking "can you even begin to imagine the repercussions for them if...?"
All throughout the ordeal, and throughout previous clubs' ordeals, the EFL's main concern has been their own image, making sure that they had their own backs covered so as for no blame to lie at their door.
Dhead as he was, Morris had a point about the EFL's inability to properly govern the leagues in a way which created fair competition, about parachute payments and about their inability to sell their product for the right sort of money. It never sat right with them that he had pointed this out and you'd better believe that it had some impact on the way we were treated when Mel's own b******* hit the fan.
Of course it wasn't their intention to see us go out of business, that would be madness, but it most certainly was their intention to levy against us as many charges as possible and apply as high a level of punishment for those charges as they could get away with. They went to great lengths to ensure that anything in their rulebooks that was open to interpretation, that could be dealt with  at their discretion on a case by case basis, was interpreted in whichever manner most turned the screws on us.
Indeed the very real proposition of our demise was not their intention, but an oversight, missed because they were more focused on getting their own back on Mel Morris than treating us in accordance with their treatment of other clubs
It was an outcome for which the chances it stood to occur had been exacerbated by the nature in which they had pursued their case against us and their failure to deal with others taking action against us, itself brought about because their own failings had put them in an impossible situation whereby Gibson was threatening to sue them!
Their archaic incompetence is only highlighted by their very actions risking their priority number 1, self defence of their public image. It was crushed when the politicians started getting involved.
By the end they were s******* themselves at the prospect that this nearly happened on their watch, but still of course they wouldn't hold their hands up and instead came out with some nonsense that made it sound like they were the ones responsible for vetoing Kirchner's bid.

Like Wanderers you have lots of players out of contract that you could either keep or replace. Of course it depends on which division you’re in as to who might come. If we’re both still in L1 then it should be easier to attract good players with the facilities we both have, although we can’t match the wages you can as at Bolton our budget is smaller. Competition in the Championship would be much harder, especially if transfer fees can’t be paid, so would it be better to miss out and build a better, more youthful squad for another push next year? There isn’t much point going up if you’re just going to come straight back down again as there is a pretty big gulf between L1 and the Championship. I think we’re slightly further ahead than you on that as we’ve been out of our restrictions this year so have brought in some youth which is starting to show but I’m still not sure we have enough to be competitive if we did make it up. Still a lot to do for both yet and tough away games tomorrow so it’s anybody’s guess for the remaining games. Can’t wish you luck obviously but I still think you’re better than Posh and will pip them to the play offs as theyve still got Ipswich and Barnsley yet!!

I have to applaud your consistency but I challenge the accuracy of your statement.
”over rated” by who ? Most people on here when discussing Dobbin are well aware of lack of finishing/final product to date. Reviews given to him by talk openly about his strengths and weaknesses.

“disappears” what ? I don’t know about anyone else but he always looks keen to get on the ball and displays controlled drive when he has it.

He isn’t over rated, we all know he has pace and for a 19 year old, is strong but he lacks the final cutting edge. This is league one, we are a team that lacks a few teeth by virtue of our finances and the trauma the club has been through. Lewis is a contributing member of the team and one of the few that with the energy and youth that can press home an attack. He does need to finish better. If he was ripping up the league then Everton would be bringing him back. Right now he’s learning and for what it’s worth I think he is improving. He is running in to less traffic now, the pass or shot gets made. I would be happy if the loan runs to next season, then we can see if he does step up a level.
Why do you so easily rubbish players ? You never seem to weigh the pros and cons, the good, the bad and where we are as a club and unit. You seem to be suggesting that because he is a young prem loanee then he should automatically be George Best and if he isn’t then he’s no good. Perspective young man .. Perspective

I agree we will never know and I’m not dissing rosenior though his style never did it for me but it’s got to be considered that without the gas out style we may have stayed around 7 th and never got into the top 6 too , when we looked really at it all over the park we had a very good run , so much so I felt we were the match for any side in the division and catching the top 2 was possible so it’s all ifs and buts really 🤷🏻‍♂️

From the Town squad, we've got a lot of peak-age players of contract who may be of interest, especially if Warne reverts back to his favoured 3-5-2 once he's had a full summer window to build a team in his image.
I think Kane Vincent-Young (27) will be a great pickup for somebody at this level, an attacking fullback who can play either side. He started like a train when he joined but then spent a year out injured during Covid. He's been dependable whenever he's played since and would probably be first choice for two-thirds of teams in this league but he's struggled to get a look in recently since Harry Clarke arrived. The only concern is that he could lack the physicality Warne would like because he isn't particularly good in the air but is really good at bombing up and down the flanks and surprisingly good at shooting for a defender.
Matt Penney (25) is another fullback and perfectly capable as squad filler, especially in a formation where he doesn't need to defend very often - he played left back for us but spent much of his time at Sheffield Wednesday on the left wing. He's on loan at Charlton and isn't pulling up any trees but excelled at Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership during the first half of the season.
Joe Pigott (29) is on loan at Pompey and still has a year left on his deal but we'd be willing to let him go on a free. His spell last year was a bit of a disaster but we never played to his strengths. He's physically imposing but he was played up front by himself and was isolated with nobody to make runs off him and win the flick ons. Warne's system would suit him though; he scored 20 goals playing in a front two for a poor Wimbledon team in 20-21 and 15 in 2018-19 so with a strike partner he'd do well.
Really interested to see Derby's recruitment this summer again. It's intriguing watch a side with a good budget for the level but very few ways they are able to spend it because of the transfer ban.
