He has zero to do with the issues we now find ourselves in, but he has acted with utter class.
He's had no money and is playing a number of players he knows aren't good enough (at least at the moment) without a word of complaint publicly.
He's just got on with his job and tried to get this team playing decent football with one hand tied behind his back, wearing lead boots and being made to wear a balaclava the wrong way around.
And then he hears about going into administration on TV like the rest of us and rather than whining or walking out he gets on with his job.
I really like what I'm seeing, especially when you consider he's in his first year of management and the second youngest boss in the entire football league.
He should have control of this team if/when he has money to spend, or at the very least until the end of this season.
If he does walk or get pushed, I for one will be bitterly disappointed.

This is the most important thing we can do. Create some income to limit redundancies and player sales, make us attractive to purchasers and support the team.
If you haven't got a season ticket, buy a match ticket.
If you have a got a season ticket , encourage a mate to come or if you can afford it, gift a ticket to a mate.
Encourage friends and family to come.
If you can afford it and know someone who can't afford to go, gift them a ticket for this game.
If you live too far away and can afford it, gift a mate or family member from home,
If you are thinking of coming and have kids, bring them along.
Do whatever we can to fill the ground v Reading.
We've been let down but now it's our time, our time to stand up and save our club.

I loved the time in the 3rd going to so many away games and filling the smaller grounds.
BUT, I think the season under Jim Smith when we went on was slightly better.
I put a bus on from Matlock to Sunderland and we filled it in hours, so we ended up taking two.
    Great days!

I started going to watch Derby properly in 1984 when we had just been relegated to the old Division 3 (League One in modern parlance)
In the light of current events,  I wanted to start a thread to offer some positivity around the very high likelihood of our relegation this season
I'm sure there is a high percentage of posters who weren't even born back then and have no idea what it was like to playing in tier 3, but I'm here to tell you that it was a fantastic experience
Derby fans came together like never before and relished the status of being a big fish in a small pond, the fallen giants - every other  team's cup final, the one they wanted to beat
Atmosphere on the Popside was better than ever, away games were brilliant adventures to new places
Players grew in confidence week after week as the team started to coalesce, with the realisation that we had the beating of anyone in the division if we stuck together
Because at the end of the day - it doesn't actually matter what league you are in, you're watching a football game, and in that moment - the passion is just the same
So come on old timers - share your memories of those years 84-86 in Division 3 for the nippers

I would *imagine* that anybody interested in buying the club knows what you/we know.
IOW, they will be keen because the price will be so low, to close the deal before then and hold onto young talent to protect their investment of a quid, or whatever it is.

I guess your scenario could happen, but I doubt it will.

Absolutely. We have to remember that Administrators are very keen to maintain incomes as well as mitigate costs. Giving players away just to get them off the wage bill makes very little commercial sense and would be an absolute last resort.

Unfortunately the late Sean Lock, about 10 yrs ago in the Darwin suite. He was just off and I can't recall whether this happened before or after one of the audience make a big fuss of puking everywhere during the performance.

My mate drowned in a boating accident.
We had a wreath made in the shape of a life belt because, well, we thinks that's what he would have wanted.

Then again, he is a heroin addict

If you don't have kids hire a babysitter before a night out.
When they arrive say he's asleep upstairs in bed and not to wake him
Then when you get back, go upstairs and scream 'where's my baby'

The people next door to me have made a sex tape.
Obviously, they don't know it yet.

The president of France said that the English are arrogant with their refusal to learn foreign languages; at least, I think that’s what he said…  it all just sounded like “haw-he-haw-he-haw-he-haw"

As a family we couldn't decide whether to have grandma buried or cremated… in the end, we let her live.

I've probably seen over 100 professional comedians and rarely do they let you down, but these did.

Chris Rock - just ranted about his divorce
Lewis Black - just ranted full stop
Bill Maher - just ranted about Trump
    Bit of a theme here.

Patrick Kielty - absolutely brilliant callback at the end, but up until then a bit plodding
Jim Norton - left halfway through, totally bored
I wouldn't have though Black and Norton are that well known here, but they're pretty big in the US and Black sold out a big venue for two shows.

Those slamming Mel should pause for a moment to think about his intentions.
I do not - for a minute - think he's intended to run the club down.
He has spent millions, not to run the club into debt, but to chase the dream. We all supported that chase.
Even though he's managed things badly, which he admits, I do believe that he genuinely thinks the only way he can get new owners in is to put the club into administration.
I'm very far from happy about that, actually been crying about it, but I think it's sincere on his part.
