No you shouldn't be surprised Crewton, We're all football fans who want to see better than we have this last 3 years, I really don't know whether LR is the answer, It's not a case for change for changes sake, Look at Huddersfield 9 games in and they sack their manager, Playoff final to 2nd bottom in the space of a few months, Stoke even less games, I think our expectations are what you have posted, The players we've signed come with a deal of pedigree, Most on here said that League 1 is a physical division, What I've seen from 4 our home league games is a mix and match of performances, Good in patches, Ordinary in some and poor in others.
I really believe our match against Wycombe could be a watershed for obvious reasons, Their owner(if he fly's over)will be greeted with hostility, Their players booed as they come out, Our players will/should be aware of what went on before they signed, LR I'd hope would see this as another game and not use that stick to beat them with as that would be an added pressure.
For LR to use language like "he's learning about his players" and being critical of the official on Tuesday shows he's an angry person, That anger has to be channelled in the right way.
    I'm expecting a win on Saturday...here's hoping ?

Technically, your correct on this one point about bielsa. I don't expect we would ever get him.
My points been missed though, an experienced manager, even a much older and experienced manager and even if that manager was currently out of work, in my opinion, would be of greater value to this clubs performances, than rosenoir would.
Rosenoir is out of his depth.

    It's not about him.
As a club, we could use a Senior assistant manager and potentially a tactician supporting the club's strategy for games.
It's a shame we can't get someone like marcelo Bielsa as manager. It obvious wouldn't happen but I'm just not sure risking it all on rosenoir is the right approach.
He probably was the best option at the time, given the summer window to rebuild the club.
In the last game why didn't we switch to 451 or 532 and defend the lead.

I think the decision to offer the role to Rosenoir was based on need at the time.
A club needed to be rebuilt fast from a very difficult place.
Multiple recruitment decisions had to be taken.
The recruitment decisions weren't made on the basis of if we had a transfer budget, but on who we could bring in as a free agent.
In my opinion the correct decision was taken to recruit experienced players who had previous championship or promotion from League one experience.
I'm not saying that some of those older players have resale value if we don't get promoted this season.
That built up a team, a huge amount of players brought in.
Most teams in League one brought in a couple of players, we brought in a team. That takes time to gel.
Rosenior was a gamble, but who could you get to come in at short notice that was experienced with the club.
Would I have preferred a different manager, maybe John Terry or Judy marsh if they had accepted the offer to manage the club.
The question isn't easy to answer, that's because if your a decent manager and your offered a job in League one, with a team that requires a complete rebuild and doesn't come with a transfer budget for two year, that might not interest the people you want to hire as manager.

When your looking at a 3-2 defeat, two things spring to mind ...
    1. Are our defenders good enough
    2. We're the tactics right
We had no ability to spend a transfer fee and we have a untested new manager.
    I think our managers learning.
I think we might have the best defence we could get given that we relied on free agents.
I'm confident we will be in the play off places this season, and I'm not surprised given team strength due to having no transfer budget and nearly non existent team a few weeks ago.
I've never thought we would outright win league one, and I'm grateful we still have a club to support.

That was a terrific game of football for the neutrals.
But I'm not a neutral! In many ways it was disappointing, mainly because we shoudn't lose from 2 - 0 ahead. And unlike many I thought we at least matched them in the first half. I expected them to give us a tough game, and they proved to be the best visiting team we have seen at Pride Park this season. They had a couple of good chances in the first half, but we had more chances than we took as well.
For a change we started the second half pretty well, but their first goal threw a spanner in the works. It gave Plymouth a lift, and knocked us back. Rosenior's substitutions did make a difference, and I like a few on here am baffled by the way Sibley is being used, or more likely misused. At last we have a manager who has responded to seeing him at his best in his best position. And yet again, we have a manager who blathers on about people earing their shirt, and keeping by how they perform, and then contradicts his words but dropping the guy after a string of good performances. And instead of putting him in McGoldrick's place, he stuck him out wide, despite numerous previous managers proving that doesn't work. Having said that, Sibley started poorly today, and didn't achieve much until we were pushing on at the end, when he started running the ball into the area. At least twice he could have gone down over the challenges being made on him in the area, but his maturity is showing through because he chose not to. Or he decided that the only players who get free-kicks for going down at the slightest of contacts play for the opposition.
I am not surprised that McGoldrick got substituted, because he was running around flat out for most of the time he was on the pitch. He put a huge amount of effort in, to the point that I was worried he was going to injure himself by pushing too hard too soon. He actually played really, really well. Hourihane continues to disappoint. He has the air of someone the game revolves around, but unfortunately it doesn't revolve very far. Maybe we put Rooney in at DM, and push Max Bird into Hourihane's position.
I had started to call Erin "King Cashin", especially for his first half performance, so his sloppy mistake for the winning goal was rather a shame. NML's goal was genius in actin. There was nothing there when he got the ball o the edge of the box with almost the entire defence in front of him. But like a thief in the night he silently picked several locks and got past all their defences to go clear on goal. A superb effort, to follow the most satisfying goal at Pride Park for ages! The crowd response to him was tremendous!
And although Plymouth's first goal knocked the stuffing out of us, and the substitutions didn't help, the match officials played their part as well, and I have to disagree with Jono on this. I am not clutching at straws. The ref had been fairly even-handed in the first half, but there was a deja-vue feel in the second half, where it had the appearance of the ref having had his regulation bollocking from the EFL for being even-handed. Just when we were trying to play our way back into the match, we went into a 10 - 15 minute period where we only had to breathe on a Plymouth player for a free-kick to be awarded. McGoldrick was booked for what was his first foul, and it wasn't for a cynical, professional foul to prevent an attack, because it just outside the Plymouth area. Very harsh. We had the bizarre situation where a clear foul on a Derby player just inside our half saw the free-kick be awarded to Plymouth, and then re-awarded to Derby. We had two attacks where we were clean through on goal, only for the ref to pull play back for a free kick, with no advantage played. And we had Osula, who looks good, won the ball and was in on goal only for the ref to blow for a free-kick. Apparently Osula having his shirt pulled off his back is a foul on the Plymouth defender! There were lots more, and it all had the effect of making sure we didn't get back into our stride.
In the end, though, cutting out sloppy mistakes, and a bit of "Row Z" technique to see the game out would have made a huge difference today, and we could have had a great result against a very good side, who thankfully didn't result to the usual bus-parking or thug football. And the unity in the crowd is great to see - singing is starting to come from all around the ground, and the bounce virus is starting to spread a swell, even into the North stand, and the boxes! Keep it up, you fans!

Yes, he's more of a winger or "wide-forward", but a goal every 500 minutes of playing time still isn't particularly impressive, or even suggests he's made much of an impact when he's had his chance. There's always a chance of course that this loan spell will do for him what the loan at Lincoln did for Johnson, but he has something to prove I think.

We’re likely to get knocked out here realistically, even if we play our strongest team. So we may as well rest some of our key players - with such a busy schedule coming up - and give some of our reserve players a change to show what they can do, and keep their fitness up. It’s a long season, and we’ll need everyone firing if called upon.

Yep. And losing some of our best young talent at bargain basement prices.
Tonight we were without Max Bardell (hamstring), Courtney Clarke (foot), Connor Dixon (hamstring) and Harrison Solomon (injured). Harrison Foulkes, Jake Rooney and Osazee Aghatise weren’t involved, presumably because they might be involved with the first team against Barnsley. There was also no sign of the trialists who were involved against Leeds: Lo-Everton, Mema, Deslandes, Torraj and Wallace.
Bartosz Cybulski played his first game after being out injured and Darren Robinson had to play out of position in central defence. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Jaydan Davidson limped off after around half an hour so Kwaku Oduroh had to move into an advanced role down the right wing so that substitute Rhys Brailsford could play right-back.
The U21 squad is already stretched paper thin and they are only two games into their season. The starting 11 contained four U18s with another two on the bench.
With six U18 players involved for the U21s away at Middlesbrough U21 Friday night, and at least three others injured, it’s highly likely the U18s will need to call on some U16 players for their trip to Sunderland U18s on Saturday.
