Stick a fork in it. It's done.

I have little to no faith that a takeover will be completed any more. Too many false promises, too many false dawns. Unless Mel *really* pulls his finger out and reduces his demands for the stadium, the proposition simply isn't worth it.

We were told the stadium wouldn't be a problem. But with Boro 'solved', what else is there?

Nothing.  If he lets go of the stadium the offer we had last week would have been good enough.  Hope he enjoys his 20 million allotment the Bamford

I think liquidation is the only way. Who would have thought that Onechop could have been right all along.

I just don't understand why we didn't take a peanuts off for Ebosele in Jan.

Think the one offering the peanuts were down the road.  300k of them. Least he's not gone their.  Expect others might come May.

Can anyone enlighten me on why if he directly signed with Watford once his contract expired with us we would be due compensation, rather than going from Udinese to Watford?

Essentially, Its not a British club his contracts with so no compo and they loan him to Watford - bit like Vydra.  If any potential new owner is letting a player who could be worth 10 million at the end of next season leave on a free rather than add another 5 million to the kitty now and risking two or three more following suit it's goodnight.  Makes no sense so we have no serious bidder.  Get on with calling time on this poo show.

Nice too see Watford avoiding a fee in January.  Clearly he had spoke  to them in January then despite Rooney not knowing.  A club like Udinese with the type of play in that league would not suit his play at all. This stinks.  May as well go now and save the wages. I can't blame a young player with a few months left and no sight of a contract looking ahead but this really smells like a shitty background deal and doesn't sit comfortable.

Of all the books written on Derby County, Pride has been the best by a country mile. I thought Pitch's production was wonderful. I do hope the one after this happens to be the present saga, fully explained and dissected, it requires a book, and a properly researched one with heart. I know Pride nearly had an interview with Richard Keogh, but interviews with him, Mel, Alonso, the Sheikh, all those that bid, the administrators, the MPs, players, management, journalists, supporters groups, the new owner(?), EFL etc, would be such a read if it could happen. Players that have departed like Bradley Johnson, Chris Martin and Ikechi Anya would be an interesting insight most would love to learn about.

I can help you with that one already

After the medical examinations carried out more than a month ago, Festy  Ebosele  will sign his contract with Udinese today. The Irish full-back of Derby County, despite Rooney's denials , will be a new player for the Friulian club from next season. His contract with the team will expire on 30 June 2022.

    They mean Watford

When is the final date that we have to inform the EFL we have a squad and can compete next season, i am sure there is a date but i may be wrong.

I would imagine at the end of May when it's not going to be an issue should we liquidate in season.  I notice the EFL were all outrage and bluster sending out 3 messages in a week when it wasn't clear if we had funding to the end of the season and they were getting a squeaky arse.  Now there back to not giving a stuff.   It even appears if reports are correct that they may have let a football creditor debt to Poznan slip by without investigation into where that moneys gone as they don't want to rock the boat.  being told were not going to play the last 3 or 4 games of the season is their nightmare.

TBH it always surprises me that Goodison doesn't empty rapidly when they play the Z-Cars theme.

Always surprises me they can sit on those wooden seats for 90 minutes.  Quite nostalgic as there about 100 years old but Jesus the rate of  piles in their fan base must be phenomenal.  Perhaps that's why their terminally miserable.

One reason may be that a lot of Irish immigrants from the middle of the last century onwards settled in Derby?

It was my mother's and lots of her family's first port of call anyway, I guess because of the employment opportunities offered by being a railway hub and a engineering stronghold, and all the associated jobs that came with it, from labourers and cleaners upwards.

A lot of nursing jobs as well, which was my grandma was here.  Grandad worked in North London and arrived in Derby for building work also from Ireland.

Thing is Keogh has to go down as a Derby sort of legend who is an Irish international.

I know I give out, but, possibly we could have 4 international players with Watson included next season. That's positive.

Derby have had some fabulous Irish internationals over the years.  I always felt privileged to see McGrath in a Derby shirt despite him being at 50% of what he was at Villa.  The guy was that good at reading the game he could play top level international football in midfield as well as centre half .  A proper legend.  I wouldn't rate Keogh in the same league as our squad that got 11 points myself, never mind in the same airspace as McGrath after his shenanigans.  He'll forever go down as a liability who put his own delusions of self importance above his role as club captain in my book.  I think next year we'll only have Watson sadly.  Bar a major miracle in form and a buyer in the next 4 weeks.  Here's hoping.

Second most at risk of exceeding limits behind Stoke. Blackburn have a number of assets they can sell in the summer to avoid any P&S penalties - notably Brereton and Dolan. Stoke will be reliant on their Covid impairment being approved by Gibson.
Bournemouth up there depending on how much cost cutting they've actually done since dropping down.
Forest always have a get out of jail free card with their A-team willing to purchase a player if needed.

    Boro have cut costs sufficiently.
Bristol will be just inside the limits... for this period. Tricky situation for them next year though.

Think he's out of contract in a few months

You do realise that Europe is still massively subservient on Russian, of which Marinakis is presumably supplying? There isn’t a total ban on Russian products, including oil.

If there was, lots of people across Europe would be pretty cold right now.

    https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/eu-tighten-sanctions-russian-oil-companies-stops-short-import-ban-source-2022-03-14/

Maybe Marinakis is shipping your cheque to Lech Poznań for the Jozwiak trade.. who knows?

Supplying at a huge profit to himself I'm sure.  Perhaps he could remove the profit element from this venture by doing it for free but I doubt it.  He'll keep funding the effort.  Anyway, best to let parliament have a look and make those decisions.

Lobby your MP everyone, we can't let this happen.

I shall pop an e mail of to my MP post haste.  We cannot let the integrity of the sport be tarnished in this way.  Busy body from Bulwell has been insisting that we pay ever penny of tax owed or liquidate since September, so I am sure they'll expect nothing less than maximum sanctions.  I suggest we all do the same.

If it goes to liquidation when there were bidders then some serious questions would have to be asked

It would be. It would just be AFC Derby County or something.

Sorry mate, the founder league status, trophies and memories go with the title Derby County for me.  AFC makes the difference.  Others have a different opinion.  No doubt my nephew etc will go along still as he's 14 but footballs dead to me when or if this team disappears.

We've done extremely poorly to throw this away but let's not pretend at half time we'd have been happy for us to make defensive subs and try and sit on one goal. Not only would it not have worked, it wouldn't have been popular

Be critical when we deserve it but be fair and be consistent ffs

Not half time but after the first goal it was evident they'd lost it.  Tighten it up that point you can still nick it as the last time they scored two in a game was when match footage was in sepia.
