w8sey reacted to Kinder in Curtis Davies - Signed 1 year contract
He’s approaching cult hero status for me. Put his body on the line last game of the season and has now signed for (comparative) peanuts. I get the feeling he has a real affinity for the club and wants to help out. He’s a genuinely good human being.

w8sey reacted to TKWhy in The latest from the club via Chris Coles
I never post, but I do check in pretty regularly and browse around the topics here. This forum is such a great source for keeping up with the club, and I just felt like chiming in today to shout out David and the moderators for the job they do here. I have the utmost respect for the way this message board is run; and following this thread over the last couple days has only encouraged more admiration of the work you all do here.
I appreciate David's patience and leadership in drafting the summary and pursuing clarifications, and thank you for the latest update Boycie. Once again: I really appreciate this place, and I know that the work that goes into its maintenance goes too often unappreciated.

There was no meeting, there is no 'David', there are no players on trial. Or am I going mad from pressing F5 for the last 24 hours.

You can use the spots reserved for the players, there’s at least 14 available.

w8sey reacted to angieram in Who will be our first signing?
As someone said, we have waited seventeen months to see a live competitive Derby County game.
I am really looking forward to it and I certainly won't be wasting any energy on booing anybody.
Time to enjoy being a supporter again.

w8sey reacted to chewbacca in Derby County Vs Notts County pre season friendly Meadow Lane 1st August 1 pm k.o.
For me Jozwiak has been a massive dissapointment, clearly got some talent but I think collectively we have seen about 30 minutes worth since he arrived...really hope he can prove his worth going forward, but I have my doubts.

Surely kazim would have been a better choice, strong leader, outspoken about stamping out racism..can't see how this can be a good idea making tom captain

The speech was embarrassing, would be interesting to hear a half time team talk when we are 1 down. I bet you it starts with eeeeerm

w8sey reacted to BriggRam in Phil Jagielka & Richard Stearman - Both Signed
More chance of him having a period than Derby being able to afford to pay him that

w8sey reacted to Rev in Phil Jagielka & Richard Stearman - Both Signed
At least with these two we're Covid proofing the backline, seeing as they'll all be double jabbed.

w8sey reacted to Malty in EFL Verdict
With Derby’s recruitment the problem is we actually need 8 or 9 new players to achieve the 3 players good enough to fill those positions. The rest will be jozefsoons or Blackmans or anyas or Ibes (mark 2).

w8sey reacted to RoyMac5 in EFL Verdict
Or:
"Pearce denied this, but said it must be noted the club "have been operating under some extremely testing circumstances for the past 15 months".
"During this period we have been able to function and produce a squad - and we will look to do so now," he added.
"We have a core of senior players and extremely talented academy players. That is enough to operate with and we have a plan for the rest of the window.
"We are not rushing to fill the squad for next week. We have a clear plan ready, pending the future ownership."
Entirely different to your quote. Not delusional at all!

w8sey reacted to DCFC1388 in Summer 2021 Transfer Window - Suggestion Thread
Personally think we need 8-10 players depending on youth players like Brown stepping up and if Davies stays -
GK: Roos, Marshall
RB: Byrne, Ebosele/McDonald
CB: CB, CB, CB, CB (Davies), Solomon/Cashin/JBrown
LB: Buchanan, Forsyth
CM: Shinnie, Bird, Knight, Bielik, CDM
AM: AM, Sibley, Watson
RW: Jozwiak, RW, Wilson
LW: Lawrence, LW
ST: ST, ST, Kazim, Stretton/Duncan
4x CBS - Mengi on loan likely who can cover RB too + Davies hopefully signs a new deal. Then 1 more on loan + 1 on a free.
We need 2 wingers with Tyree Wilson potentially pushing to be in the squad or cover for injuries/suspensions and the same for strikers with Stretton & Duncan pushing their cases.
Personally I feel like getting 5 loans & 5 on a free isn't beyond the realms of possibility and I also think that given the number of free agents and this summer's market due to covid there is a good chance of getting 5 decent free's in too.
So say for example based off a mix of players previously linked and possible options:
CB: Davies (renews)
CB: Mengi (loan)
CB: Gibson (loan)
CB: Lees (free)
CDM: Besic (free)
CAM: Garner (loan) or Pritchard (free)
RW: Mendez-Laing (free)
LW: Elanga (loan)
ST: Niasse or Wickham (free)
ST: Davis, Simms or Delap (loan)
