Having a fit Bird could potentially have made that a different record.
He does the work that is unseen by many

Indyram reacted to Caerphilly Ram in Curtis Nelson - joined on a 2 year deal
Joe Ward scored 6 and assisted 10 goals in a Peterborough side that got into the play offs last season.
Curtis Nelson has played 27, 30, 44 and 33 games in the championship in the last 4 seasons and has been captain at pretty much all his former clubs.
Callum Elder played 29 times for a side that finished mid table in the championship last season.

Give them chance to show what they can do with a ram on their chest before completely writing them off.

The players really do help. I'd not though about it before, but it all goes with what Warne says about getting the right characters. Rosenior also did a great job with that.
Remember that thread asking about if we're still a draw for players? Interesting to see what Nelson said the Cardiff players were saying about PP, "imagine playing here every week". Answers that one doesn't it!

Have we gone back in time a couple of months?  Is today 1st April?  First, Bournemouth sack their manager.  The one who took over after a 9-0 defeat and the ex-manager had criticised the players and then went on to keep them up with games to spare.  Then I read that the Community Shield is now being played on a Sunday night - further proof if ever it was needed that the football authorities really couldn’t care less about the fans.  And then I come on here and read that Darren Moore has been sacked.  The same Darren Moore that recorded their highest ever points total, dealt with the abhorrent racist abuse he received with calmness and dignity, and achieved promotion.
    All 3 are absolute madness.

There's also Khace (pronounced Chase I think) who is going into next season U16s. From what I've seen, he can play both full back positions comfortably.

As someone that moderates this forum, here are my unwritten until now thinking.
Away fans are welcome on this forum
    BUT
If you join and in your first posts be abusive, throw personal insults, bump old posts taking the piss, you will get banned immediately.
To be fair, that applies to anyone, Derby fan or Forest.
What they must understand is this is a community, members have built up online relationships where they have that understanding.
Fans, Derby or not, that come on, join in with discussions and ease themselves, almost earn the right to have a bit of a laugh and take the piss within forum rules are fine.
We did at one point move fans into an away fan group that only had permissions to post in Football Forum but it was unfair to those who can contribute sensibly.

Indyram reacted to Caerphilly Ram in Haydon Roberts - signed for Bristol City
The posts of some people on this board don’t automatically equate to “the majority”. I for one would like to sign Roberts on a free and retain Sibley, Knight and Bird if feasible. I also accept that players will inevitably move on and if one, two or all of those 3 do leave we’ll have new players to support in their stead.
Roberts as a player has attributes we need in the squad, can cover a couple of positions, is young and has potential, signing him on a free would represent sensible business. I also think as it looks to be another summer of high numbers joining the squad, signing Roberts negates some of the settling in period other recruits may need as he’s just spent a year here.

If you want to access his impact, see what happened to the team that was flying and on a long unbeaten run, after he got injured.
You could probably apply all of your criticisms to Jan Molby from the Liverpool team of the 1980s.

    I’d agree with this.
How much would it have cost us to sign players like Bogle, Lowe, Cashin, Festy, Bird, Knight, Sibley etc? We’d sure as hell have to have bought players in to cover their minutes from the last few seasons. What costs have been saved?

Then we can look at transfer fees which probably isn’t as good as we’d hoped but I think money saved for decent quality championship players, during a time people were still spaffing £11m on a crocked midfielder more than makes up for that.

And what would we have done in the last 3 years whilst we’ve not been able to sign anybody. The academy has kept the club going.

We get back on our feet, back in the Championship and the academy will flourish again.

I believe Wassall going is the best thing. He’s been there 14 years and a fresh pair of eyes will be great.

I think he is on the Amalfi Coast isnt he in Italy. He has gone up even more in my esteem as this is my no 1 location aim for first summer hols without any children and he is obviously a true romantic soul. Not a quality that is usually discussed on a football forum!

Ah, come on. Davies was the last manager to get us promoted to the Premier League, and when he got there found out a) he didn't have the squad or the tactics to compete and b) there wasn't any money to buy better players.
Yes we were awful that year, and yes Davies didn't exactly cover himself in glory with some of the things he said when he left.
But he isn't a worse Derby manager than Nigel Pearson.
