Patrick Rams reacted to kash_a_ram_a_ding_dong in v Huddersfield (H) Match Thread
Yes and I'm sure there are still many, especially amongst our older fans, who are still wary of mixing in crowds.
It is a faff not just turning up with your season ticket and going into the ground and it's not Ideal that you have to try and locate your old seats on the dcfc website which is a bit of a nightmare in itself.

I agree with Mel’s academy comments and although I appreciate I’m in the minority I would rather watch Cashin develop than Wisdom make his customary howlers, see Bird kick on rather than have another Butterfield at 4m and give Ebosele a go instead of Anya at a combined cost of approaching 10m (fees and wages).

Let's be fair, Rooney walking and being replaced with, well, anyone would be the best thing to come out of all of this.
This is going the way of Bury, and fast.

Patrick Rams reacted to G STAR RAM in The latest from the club via Chris Coles
I remember when Jim Smith took over Derby, the fans were not positive then either.
Maybe this season will be a reset. Wage bill down and if the fans stick with us we may find that this time next season we will be on a more sound financial footing.
Who knows, along the way we may even enjoy watching some of our own youngsters progress through the ranks.
By a club of this stature, do you mean one that has been in The Championship for the last 13 years and, as it stands, is still in The Championship and on the same amount of points as every other team in the division?
I remember in the infamous 11 point season how our fans won admiration for being the 12th man, maybe it is time that we stepped up to the plate again rather than sitting here crying like spoilt little babies who cant get what we want.
After 17 months without being a match, I cannot wait to be back in Pride Park on Saturday getting behind whichever players pull on a Rams shirt. Unfortunately, I think there are plenty who have missed an opportunity to vent their anger who are equally excited.

I wasn't knocking Jagielka... He has been an excellent player. I'm sure he'll do a great job for us.
And I am painfully aware of our current predicament.
I was merely lamenting the days when we would be signing players that would thrill us.... Charlie George, Franny Lee, Saunders, Eranio, Baiano and so on.
That's all I meant.

Patrick Rams reacted to Carl Sagan in What are the rules for going to PP?
What utter nonsense that the fans park is closed "for safety reasons". People are enjoying their ability too much to restrict freedoms.

That's a shame! I was lucky enough to be there.... There are a few advantages of being an old git!

Rooney (in a Derby shirt) isn't fit enough to wipe those blokes behinds

As long as the team give 100% I will applaud their efforts whatever the result. Perhaps protests against off the pitch issues should take place off the pitch especially if the lads are doing their best.

No expert on drama admittedly but in what way does adding ‘just saying’ to a post add dramatic tension? It seems to do the exact opposite.

If you have the internet you can get Radio Derby all day everyday, except for the actual game when contractual reasons prevent. The BBC Sounds app and a wireless Bluetooth speaker does it for me.

Patrick Rams reacted to Tamworthram in Who will be our first signing?
I think most of us do but, sadly, it only takes a handful of noisy folk to express their frustration to make it sound like a lot.
A few things are certain: Regardless of the result, regardless of the performance, I will not be booing the team, Mel or Rooney. I won’t join in any “witty” songs about Rooney and I won’t be leaving early. I rather suspect (and hope) the majority will react the same.
That doesn’t make me a better fan (I’ll do plenty of grumbling and moaning to myself) or mean I don’t blame Mel or that I rate Rooney but I’ll do my best to support the team and accept the fact that Rooney is doing the best he is capable of and Mel is doing his best to sell the club.

Patrick Rams reacted to Sidd10 in Who will be our first signing?
I think 1-0 down and things being ugly will largely depend on the team. If it's as young as Sunday's friendly, i don't think it will. But it Captain Tom decides to chip a penalty down the middle to a keeper who just stands there... then maybe it could get ugly.
But that's nothing new, the players that have always had stick will continue to receive it. If Bird dares pass sideways he'll have the moans and groans, if Roos doesn't claim a corner he'll have the moans and groans, if Forsyth misplaces a pass etc etc.
Can never understand why people don't just get behind players.

Patrick Rams reacted to Curtains in Who will be our first signing?
I think going 1-0 down can happen to any team but doesn’t mean the game is lost .
The fans need to be patient this season.

Get some perspective bud. Think of the context in which he's operating. Think of the money he's spent chasing our dreams.
You'll never forgive him? You want him booed? Poor show IMO.

Patrick Rams reacted to LeedsCityRam in The Bookies aren't always right
In fairness, if you swap us & Barnsley thats actually a really good prediction. They got the bottom 3 & the top 3 spot on (although not right order). Over-rating Forest was the only other rick.
As to the topic, pretty depressing to see but like others have said, those odds will change if we land a few of the trialists. A siege mentality, a good mix of youth/experience & a settled style of play might see us surprise a few ?

David Mellor, big Fulham fan, then switched to Chelski once the ££££ arrived.
Chelsea averaged 11k fans at midweek games pre the Russian takeover.
I rest my case M’Lord.

I would speculate that it's more a case of protecting them.
Imagine if one of those gets injured a week before the season... We'd be even further in the poo.
