Lets be honest, the clean sheet was a touch fortunate. They did hit the post and accumulated 1xg to our 1.2xg, as well as having more shots.

The 3 goals were good quality, but the problem is that there is just no pattern of play to either our attacking or defending. We just completely rely on moments of brilliance from a NML or Bird for example. It's identical in that regard to Didzy last season. We are basically the man utd version of league one. No identity, no pattern of play, fairly boring to watch, heavily reliant on moments from individuals, and just getting enough results to keep us near the top.

Like that moment of individual brilliance from Collins against Cheltenham.

I feel like there’s little point debating it anymore. Those who have concerns about Warne have set their stall, those who are willing to give it more time have set theirs and the pages of to and fro across the forum make it very clear there’s little movement in those mindsets and not much by way of persuasion being considered.

I’m not arguing in support of Warne or saying he should be everyone’s choice for manager, it’s the proverbial p*ssing in the wind at this point, with many holding valid concerns which they’ve expressed many times over.

Results and performances are the only things that will make a difference to those entrenched in either view, and even then, as @TomTom92 said in another thread yesterday, I think it’s plain that Warne just isn’t for some people and regardless of what he does or doesn’t achieve there’s plenty who’ll be glad to see him go when the time comes. I just hope he gets the team promoted and whoever does replace him, whenever and however Warne leaves, perhaps proves less divisive of a character.

Amen to that but you won't stop the constant Warne bashing all day every day by some on here.

Wilson didn't pick the wrong starting line up, Warne did.

Wilson didn't make the ridiculous decision to take Nyambe off, Warne did. (Nothing about his body language suggested he couldn't have lasted the last 5 mins).

And, and I accept I may be alone in this, it wasn't Wilson's decision to sit back and try to defend for 25 minutes having gone a goal ahead against team whose away record is extremely poor and leave CBT on the bench when we were crying out for some spark.

It was however, Wilson who let his man go. So that's 3-1.

I'm with @DavesaRam on this. It was poor management yesterday.

Anyway, this thread is for positives. It was a better performance than against Cheltenham. South stand was noiser. Adams is great. Bird has turned up since Adams did. It wasn't so cold. I got home about 10 mins earlier than usual as the traffic didn't seem as bad as it can be. The ref was excellent for the first 15 seconds.

    Nyambe was injured wasn’t he?

Get him in, I say. Local guy, with previous ties to our club.

You want to get him in now?

Absolutely. More idiocy from a truly inept tactician. Rancid football - predictable and ponderous in attack . All the clapping the fans and trying to become the next Ian Holloway with media friendly antics  cannot hide the fact that he is a truly terrible coach . We should wipe out Shrewsbury ( themselves an appalling team ) with the players at his disposal .What does he actually do all week ?

What a great post you certainly know your football

Well we didn't manage to attract a striker bar gambles on TJJ, Washy and Waggy so most of it gone before them? Now who knows, didn't Warne say he didn't want to offer more for Smith?

That the position our restrictions have put us in.

i get what you're saying but wheel and deal , sell Cashin and Bird if it means getting a few in that will matter, why is everyone so hung up on keeping our two academy products, would Brentford or Posh not sell and spend the money or reinvest etc ....Both of those players are not irreplaceable no one is in fact ...Bird could well be walking around PP at the end of the season waving goodbye when we could've used that money wisely, but here lies the problem for me...Warne does not seem to sign wisely so I'm with you , lets stay as we are and try and try and get up with what we have ................may well be in L1 though next season

Personally don't think it would be wise to sell bird or Cashin at this point in the season could backfire massively if we bought in a couple of duds or someone who picks up a season ending injury

When has he said tactically he got it wrong?

When ? What faults has he admitted to ?   Im not talking about some vague collective responsibility line - I'm talking about analysing a poor performance in terms other than blaming the players for being below par.

That's fine just carry on with your one sided agenda/argument

He never takes responsibility.   If we perform poorly it's players below par, losing their battles, not doing the basics.

I don't buy it - one week Bird can pass a ball and the next week he can't?    Yes players will make mistakes within a game, misplace a pass, let their man go, lose a tackle - but if it isn't working for them consistently within a game it's probably not them but something within the game that the manager could change.

I've heard him take responsibility in many of his after match interviews
