Sorry but as a supporter of 50 years I will not put one pence into Derby County until it's sold and this shambles of a club is sorted out with new owners. Mel Morris as just about ruined the club I loved.
i get the frustration ziggy. being a Derby fan isnt the easiest!
things will get better, they always do

Southampton in the playoffs 2007 was arguably an example of how to take perfect penalties. Those who stepped up and scored gave the GK no chance, even if he went the right way. Considering the occasion, nerves of steel.
this. every player who walked up i was sure was going to miss, but then hit an unstoppable penalty.

The last two games have given me a slight bit of optimism and eventually I'm looking forward to the season starting.
The situation we're in isn't great but the week leading up to the season kicking off was always something me and my old man looked forward to. This is my 6th pre-season without him and I'm not going to let him down now. This week I'll get more and more excited as I tick the days off leading up to 3pm Saturday.
Win or lose, it's going to be good to be sat in the ground watching a league game again with my fellow DCFC supporters.
agree. nothing like preseason optimism. always really excited before the season starts. then normally shot down to absolute misery after a few weeks!
for me this season, anything above bottom 3 is a good season. after today really looking forward to seeing some of our youngsters play

we are ducked i reckon. cant remember any another team being so worse off so close to the season starting.

But it is alleged they have altered the max wage down to 4.5k per week from 11.5k. Hence no signings.
why has this changed? and if true we wont sign anyone. £4.5k is alot of money to normal folk but nothing for a championship player.

The only player in our squad who might be a 20 goal a season player is Sibley but he's never played. That's 100% on Rooney. I want him gone.
this is something i cant get my head round. id be building my team round sibley if i was rooney

Teemu Pukki signed for Norwich on a free and has banged in loads of goals. If only we had signed players like that instead of the costly Marriott and Waghorn.
what norwich did was get a player in who complimented their system. ie their scouting department did their job. instead of the scattergun transfer policy weve implemented over the last 6 years
what didnt help us tho was changing managers, all with a completely different tactical approach to each other

This does however bring me back to the point I raised when he left. Any transfer of a young player from a championship, league 1 etc to a premier league club should have to include 50% of any loan fees should they play elsewhere up to the age of say 23. It's always likely to get the selling club more than they sold for originally as they always seem to wind up on loan to a championship team
excellent point. im guessing clauses like this would be negotiated as apart of the transfer. quite simple really. i wonder why this never happens

Only problem with that is Stoke would require a bit if cash to let us sign him, and he'll be after more than the c£11.5k pw wages we'd be allowed to offer him
thought with over 21 you dont pay compensation if out of contract?
Who will be our first signing?
