If your main takeaway from this is that we shouldn’t be losing to you because you’re not very good then I suggest re reading it. A few have pointed out your position last season but the majority has been aimed at Warnes football stinking the place out.

You look a good young team with a good young manager. A million miles away from where we should be.

As I heard Romesh Ranganathan say today , hope is a p**** in disguise.  For me, a summer (?) of hope has rapidly deflated to reveal an ugly mess. In that sense, it feels very similar to the summer Cocu and Co. rolled in, because the difference between the expectation that had built and the grim reality once the season started was huge. Many differences in tbe context of course, and the scope of those expectations.
Others have given detailed observations about the concerns about the individual players, system, tactics etc, so I won't repeat.
I suppose my point is that after a humbling reset we are again in shock at how a long preparation period that promised so much has achieved seemingly very little and in fact we may be starting again with formation, tactics etc.
We are supposed to be a stable club intent on progress. Its baffling how we got here.
Compare this to, say Reading, who are a chaotic basket case and have started well and seem to be recruiting as well or better. Comparison is the thief of joy of course.
Have the club mis-managed expectations? They need to sell us the dream to some extent of course, but this seems a spectacular shambles.
Hopefully, all will become clear over time and good honest people will be open to their mistakes and rectify them.

Even without EFL restrictions I can only see the club operating within it's means. Considering the horrendous financial position that Mr Morris left the club in, it's totally understandable that the current owner isn't going to allow the club to spend more than it earns. Supporters will have to get used to that, and Warne presumably has bought into it.

Reading between the lines our budget has already been consumed on our existing squad and we aren't going to get any players in better than the ones we already have with the pittance we have left in the kitty.

Warne has pretty much echoed everything I thought about the last 3 games. It is not as if he's trying to cover it up with the usual manager phoned in answers (new team, time to gel, we go again etc etc). That would hack me off. Genuinely feelings, a good self awareness around the club. Nothing wrong with this. All the issues I think we have in the squad, Warne identified and knows what we require.
I have a feeling the penny dropped a little bit for him this week. At Rotherham if he had a bad run, he'd get away with it because there's little expectations. Coming to a much bigger club, with his pretty mediocre home record from the back of last season through to this season, fans are going to naturally become more frustrated. Bigger wage bill, bigger facilities, you have got to perform. As much as we want to believe it, time isn't on a manager's side.
We replaced an upcoming future manager, who wasn't getting much stick from our supporters because of the good reputation he built, with a more experienced outside name. If we was struggling near the foot of the table, I think Warne would get more credit. But because he's come in, with a squad which looks competitive on paper, there's more demand on him to succeed.
The main thing I want from Warne short term is to start winning more matches against those top 8/9 teams. We was dreadful in the majority of those matches last season and it ultimately cost us. His record against the little teams near the bottom have rarely cause us problems, we seem to beat these comfortably.
It's always been a niggle in the back of my mind. Why did he never keep Rotherham up, was it down to purely budget or his record against "better sides". I just want him to prove me wrong and get us firing.

Be better asking how NML missed three sitters all well in his stride, rather than one that was nudged behind the path of Birdy.

I am pretty sure Warne is an alright kind of a guy. I remain far from convinced he is actually a good football coach. I did listen to him this morning (and his post match reflections) and he seemed a lot less chippy than he came over last season. Personally I think that an improvement.

Warne seems like a good guy, who wants to work in the 'right' way, from a people management and philosophy way off the pitch.
The problem he's got is that he isn't in an industry that always rewards people who do things the right way. He is in a ruthless, results based industry in which being a good guy can sometimes be perceived as a flaw as much as anything else.
I hope he brings us the success we all want. If not, Clowes will find someone else.

Having thought about it for a few days I think of course it's too early to tell about Warne and this season but the pressure is clearly already mounting. I've been a little concerned about Warne not thinking this job is different to Rotherham in interviews he's given. The job is clearly different, and the level of expectation with the amount of fans is significantly different. I'm not quite sure he has wised up to this!

Personally, I don't like his brand of football and think it's too one-dimensional. It's quite easy to defend against and we don't really have the players to execute it properly. He seems stubborn and unwilling to change which is a problem for any manager.  I'm also not impressed by the forward signings and re-signing Waghorn off the back of a testimonial kind of stinks as either terrible preparation and/or execution.
I think if after 10-15 games we're not in the top 6 DC needs to have real words with Warne about his performance. We've been on a downward trend for a while now and it's currently showing no sign of abating, if anything we are getting worse, not better. A big concern though must be how costly it'd be to get rid of Warne and the coaching team... are we even in a position where we can afford to buy him out?

Since arriving at DCFC, Warne has always been a bit 'over talkative' in media sessions. Could be wrong, but I don't remember anyone being too critical of his interview style when we were on a winning run. I would just add that I don't enjoy his interactions with the media, but that's just my opinion.

why have the players picked the captain?  It’s daft. (They may well have picked Fozzie whom they all no doubt love and respect but on field captain is not his thing. )
Warne should pick the on field captain - off field as well if we have two. It’s an important decision and part of his job. I don’t think he liked the idea of telling Hourihane that he is not suitable

What puzzles me is this idea that it takes ao many games for the players to ”gel”. Both Wigan and Blackpool have had big disruptions to their squads, but Wigan played like they had been together for 12 months or more, and judging by the comments Blackpool are similar.
Thinking back we have regularly started seasons slowly while the players get up to speed, all the tome being stuffed by teams who are up to speed from day one.

I disagree. I was at the game and watched it live. Bradley wasn't winning balls at either end of the pitch and he was hesitant in playing out from the back.
Not doing anything might not be making mistakes but I think it is his job in the centre to organise the defence and lead by example. I saw a lot of that from Fozzy last night and very little of it from Bradley.
Nelson's distribution was dreadful going forwards and far too often he turned back and took the easy option.
