Thought they got caught out when watching it at the game, seemed to be an overload of Wycombe players, not watched it back though. Maybe it was them pushing everyone forward with last kicks of game, lack of focus, poor management, or credit to Wycombe is needed, not sure but I thought very poor defending all round.

One thing i noticed v Orient and again today, Ward can't defend..yes he can put crosses in the attacking third..but he leaves a massive gap when we are defending.
When fit, I'd play Nyambe all day long..and stick to a back 4...if we don't keep Nyambe, i worry about us achieving promotion.

A bit 'toys out the pram stuff' on here from a few tonight.
Until the last minute it was a standard recent performance. All very scruffy, but probably the slightly better team and nicking the result... then we balls it up.
Hopefully it's the kick up the backside we need because top 2 is on offer.
Wycombe are a horrible team. Niggley, time wasting and just launching it every single time they could. We played down to their level and way too many players were poor.
No disaster but a wasted chance to climb that table.

Until the last week it has been a long time since I had been at a Derby Match. My Dad has said I’ve probably seen some of the best football so far this season. So, this thread is starting with genuine positivity from me, as my brother Daniel (B4) would also have done. This match means so much more to the Beavis family than any result. We want everyone to wave their scraves and flanges (not literally, ladies 🙈) and raise the roof for both DCFC and Daniel. Please share the details of the applause far and wide.
I’m reliably told I need to predict a 3-0 win to Derby.
My dad, Andy and I, will be in the east stand, stairway 35. We’ll be having a drink before the match and at halftime. Please do come and say hello.

I agree. Obviously we later found out he was hamstrung by the Rooney thing and other factors during his tenure, but in a parallel universe, I'd be fascinated to see what'd have happened if he could have turned form a little more and stayed on. The way he was trying to play was actually very progressive.
Because I could see what Cocu was trying to do, heavy emphasis on fluid positional rotation, methodical progression by dominating possession etc., I vouched for him right until the end, as I felt it was failure of execution, rather than intrinsically poor management. Until it got to a point where his position seemed entirely untenable did I concede maybe he needed to go.
I feel like i'm in that same position with Warne now. Ideally I wanted Rosenior to stay, but the moment that decision is made, I felt like I should back and get behind the new manager. I knew we wouldn't be seeing fast-flowing, attractive football, nor would we be seeing youngsters utilised as often as under Cocu, or even Rooney. Warne has his strengths and it's pragmatic football that's especially effective at League 1 level. That's why i'm not judging him on academy inclusion, or style of play- just the bit he's supposed to be effective at: achieving promotion.
We're still in the hunt, in this respect, and results do generally seem to be improving, and there's enough mitigating factors such as injuries for me to give him a bit of leeway. The result against Barnsley seemed to be the culmination of his efforts so far: for once we were that slightly nasty, physical team that completely outmuscled the opposition- that was pleasing to see as it was success measured by the metrics I've been judging him on since his arrival. I don't care about a loss in a cup competition we were never going to win, and could probably do without the extra games, given our squad size. Those sort of games happen, and I'm not bothered by the context or who played etc. - it all seems relatively trivial in the grand scheme of things.
Because promotion is still on the cards, I won't turn on Warne yet, if that starts to fade then what I will say is that Warne hasn't got much else to fall back on. But i'm not there yet, see where we are in the league table come Christmas and I might be harsher on him.

    1967Ram reacted to angieram in B4 - for ever a Ram 🐏
I have some very sad news this evening.  Daniel (B4) died earlier this week. He was just 38.
As you know, he has been battling numerous health conditions for a long time, but always remained cheerful  and was the most loyal supporter of his beloved Rams, home and away.
He was at the match at Crewe and gave his full support as always.
Daniel leaves behind a grieving dad, mum and sister. Our thoughts go out to them and we only hope they get a little comfort from knowing how well loved Daniel is by all who know him.
Here are a couple of photos that his dad agreed could be shared. I'm sure many of you have others, as Daniel loved a selfie at the game.
David is hoping to arrange a more fitting tribute in time, but for now please raise a glass in his memory and a good Derby win today. I am sure that's what Daniel would have been doing tonight.

I actually think we're incredibly consistent - there are certain types of games we do well in, and certain types of games we do badly in.  There's obviously been a bit of up and down with form etc - the good run last season vs the slow start this season - but by and large, you can tell how well we're going to do in a given game by how the opposition set up against us.

I think he is a sub.
He comes to life when the game is stretched.
He was poor to average first half v Wolves as they doubled up on him and denied space.
As soon as the game opened up second half and the midfield stopped helping the full back, he ran riot.
I think the same is true of Sibley to an extent.

1967Ram reacted to sage in You might not realise it but Paul Warne's doing pretty well
The criticism has died down for various reasons.
We are playing better football in the last 2 games, so some of people's concerns are being assuaged.
We've won 2 of the last 3, as BC says, 3 points shuts people up.
Also, many who weren't happy are tired of the kick back, especially post Carlisle when we didn't play well but won and those commenting got the result thrown at them.
From my point of view, I'd like some more control in games, but Nyambe and the return of Bird and Barks have improved matters. It wasn't personal for most critics, it was based on what we saw.
As Maynard Keynes wrote, when the facts change, I change my mind.

It's still a daft thing to say. If he's got a problem with the way home fans have reacted to recent home performances then him and the players should have done a better job. All he's doing here is reinforcing a 'well we struggle at home because of the pressure the crowd puts on us' narrative, when what he should be doing is working to dispel that by having us play better football at Pride Park.

1967Ram reacted to SK47 in I Feel As Fans, A Lot Of Us Have It Wrong.
After watching Paul Warnes Cambridge interview regarding the Josh Vicars situation, I can't help but feel we have it wrong about what we value in a manager.
I understand football is about results and success, but sometimes, seeing a managers humility and connection as a humanbeing with the players, especially at times of trauma, beats the lot for me.
I've been critical of Warne, as have a lot of us, but I would love nothing more than for Warne to get us promoted. I know his "let's be mates" mentality can be a bit cringe, and his 352 does your head in, but you can tell he really cares about those around him, and I would much rather be in the trenches with a man like Warne than someone coming here for a quick cheque.
I'm crossing everything that things go right on the pitch, but regardless of that, I just wanna commend him for the person he is.

    Salute to you Mr Warne.

My wife passed away at the end of January from a very rare blood cancer. I cant describe the pain and heartache i feel every single day, and the massive void she has left in our lives will never be filled. I can understand exactly how you must be feeling at this moment, i too have been there,  so  make sure you tap into the help and support available to you from friends, family and those at DCFC. God bless you Josh and keep strong.

Very sad news for Josh and his family, the support from his colleagues will be needed at a difficult time like this, sometimes there’s more to life than football. 😔
Perhaps something could be arranged by fans to show support at the home game? Applause at the 31st min or something?

I'm a bit surprised there are no comments on Cash's interview. I thought he spoke really well about their support for Josh Vickers.
That's a lot of responsibility on a young player to come out and articulate how difficult it has been for the players.
He is future captain material,  without a doubt.

A big thank to the Rams fans who took time to fill in Oxfordshire County Council's survey into the public's attitudes to our proposed new stadium. Many fans from all over the country helped out with the survey which we won comfortably. This week the Council's cabinet voted to lease the land to the football club. Now we move on to the planning permission stage with Cherwell District Council before Christmas and we wait for detailed plans to be published.

The 11 point record doesn't bother me. Any football fan you chat to will want to talk about it and listen to stories about it.
One fan I met couldn't believe that I had a season ticket and went to every game. He said after about 10 games he would have stopped going and probably never gone back the next season either.
Its a badge of honour for me among friends who support massive clubs and have seen them play maybe once or twice in the flesh that I kept going and still do.
Worst team in history? Yeah we were. The fans showed they were anything but and we should be eternally proud of that and own it as a club and a fan base.
