Had a good chat with one of the back room staff, basically said it’s the same squad and try to win it in the first hour and then take players off. He said they haven’t got 9 subs. Praying that there’s no replay.  Spoke briefly to Warne, he said if I can play centre half I’m in with a chance.                                  Then as I was typing this  Cash came and had a chat, his family live near us. Right back to the bar.

Not up to speed with a lot at DCFC, no excuse living out of the area I know but having just tuned in to the game tonight I see our Krystian. Having read the thread I probably have all the answers I was looking for. So what was the point of me typing this……none really….. as you were.

    It'll be rate.
Pearson managed to blow up a promotion chasing team into a relegation one within 3 months, so far warne has made a middling league 1 side into a middleing league 1 side.

I’ll be one of the first to admit I wasn’t exactly enthralled by the idea of having Wildsmith as a number 1 when he signed. I’m sure many others will be in the same position.
I was expecting and hoping another keeper to come in and that Wildsmith would be a good back up, but obviously that never happened.
I think he’s been excellent this season and is yet to really make a glaring error. For a keeper that’s spent most of his career as a substitute, I think he’s stepped up brilliantly.
He’s been one of our better additions this summer, I feel like he deserves some recognition for how he’s started his time here with us.

I was incensed with some of the refs decisions at todays game.
Watching the highlights I can totally understand why the first penalty was given and why Collins was sent off.
Too easy to concentrate on the ref - we have to be better than that.

Is that a serious question? Went in at HT 1-0 up at home against a team of limited ability, we simply shouldn't be losing games from that position. Maybe don't give away a frankly ridiculous penalty and maybe don't get sent off for violent conduct and that'd help. Both incidents were utterly brainless and cost us the game. Needed calm heads and we got headless chickens.

We can blame the ref all we want but when your supposedly experienced center half decides to randomly slap the ball in the area, and your supposedly experienced striker gets sent off for being a petulant idiot what can we expect? Even their second goal came from an individual error.
Should have been at least two up at half time and should have managed the game better. If we'd put ourselves two up the ref being a joke wouldn't have mattered.

I think it would have been a very different game if Curtis had played - we missed him enormously.

Personally love the mind set this builds; PW has clearly been on team-building management courses.

I've heard that Didzy suggested PW looked like he was wearing more than just his bobble hat. He apparently said " Boss you look a right two hat in that."
A scuffle broke out resulting in Didzy getting injured and missing yesterdays game. They've since kissed and made up after Didzy stitched the bobble back on said hat. It became detached in the scuffle.

You lot need to up your game, stop blaming the refs and assistant refs and suck the ball into the goals.

The 4231 with bird and Hourihane as pivots has been committed on before. Too passive, not enough energy, no enforcement.
Liam Thompson is kind of similar in being deep lying, short tidy passes type of player. Why put all 3 of them on the pitch at the same time?

Unfortunately Liam's subs and tactics in the second half have probably lost us the game. Game has been to open, and the midfield battle has been won by them. Plymouth have deserved this, well done to them, they play some great football, easily the best side to play at PP so far. Oh well, you live and learn I suppose. Still criminal to throw a 2 goal lead.

The circumstances are kind of irrelevant. If you go 2-0 up at home you quite simply should not be losing the match.

Very important. I had started to get the feeling we were believing we tire in the second half even though we are nearing full fitness. We just look mentally like we fall back and expect to get runover in midfield as soon as the second half starts.
All the talk of a short pre-season and how we like to start not fully fit in the first game anyway. That was fine, 2 weeks a go. Not now, and I think mentally that will do us a world of good.
Might be the turning point of the season. We need this mentality away from home too.

There aren't half some bedwetters on this forum, talk about being melodramatic.
Two months ago we had basically no players, now we're absolutely dominating teams, having 20+ shots every match against teams that come out specifically looking to defend first and attack second.
Have a bit of patience - Rome wasn't built in a day. All that's needed are tweaks to the system. It's not like we're creating zero chances and struggling to get hold of the ball.
We're already vastly improved on last year where we struggled a lot, especially away from home. If we keep this dominance up over the course of the season I'm sure we'll be at the right end of the table.

No, not deja vu as we’re not losing 9 away games on the bounce. We’ve drawn 2 without conceding.
It’s frustrating we haven’t scored and won those games but I don’t feel it’s time to panic yet because of those frustrations. There is plenty of the season to go, if there’s still a problem scoring goals in a couple of months then yes it makes sense to start questioning if the coaching team is doing the right thing(s).
The ideal scenario for this season for me would be the team gelling instantly and us storming the league, worst case once the club was saved would have been back to back relegations, my realistic expectations were a season of “steadying the ship”…which is kind of where we are currently and things could get far worse or they could get much better. I’m happy to wait and see ?

Can you think of a Derby side that created so many chances over an entire season and failed to convert them? I can only think of 04/05 where we hit the woodwork 15 times but even then we finished 4th.
My point is nobody is this wasteful for long. Either we start scoring or the chances dry up altogether, but this, this does not last an entire season.
