if Smith stays at right back knight further back with Sibley behind McGoldrick -Cashin can wait whilst Dobbin is unlucky not to start but the others have done well

I imagine playing for Pearson can be 'amusing' too. I see that Weimann is back to normal now he's stopped being a striker!

I genuinely feel sorry Weimann because he can do a job elsewhere he gets shunted around the team to fit someone else in for the benefit of the team but not his benefit - we did the same when he was here and we have done the same to Jason Knight

With my missus and her family (yeah, I know) supporting Forest, I feel I usually have a good grip on what’s going on there. I have to say though, I’d have been fuming with Cooper for that semi final.

First leg Forest competed in the first half and were unlucky to be losing, let alone 2 down. Man Utd gave them a chance by starting to rotate before the hour mark and took Rashford off. What did cooper do? The exact same. Took off front line players when that was the time to try and get in the tie. Ended up losing 3-0.

Second leg, tried to defend the entire game. Ok, so keep it tight early to not go 4-0 at the start, fair enough. But they never stepped up from there. Then when Man Utd started to rotate again, what did Cooper do? The exact same again! White flag up.

Absolute pathetic acceptance from half time of the first leg that he wasn’t even going to try.

The white flag bit is the bit that annoys me more than anything - it costs a lot of money to go there and get in to support the team then no attempts to win the games over 180 minutes - appalling in my eyes and taking complete advantage

Obviously living in Bristol I’m lucky ?enough to speak to lots of City fans and they are delighted to be finally rid of him.

Immobile and sulky are words used.

I loved CM at Derby but I’m not sure we could accommodate him in the current squad.

I’m worried he would get frustrated and start gobbing off.

I would have said not playing or being involved would annoy most players - most of what I read of the Bristol city fans view points obviously to a lack of pace but not about anything negative in terms of anything else and whilst they have had 3-4 younger forwards come through their reserves to add to their options and clearly they want his wages off the books whilst they also say he would be a great signing for a league one club - I don’t disagree and we are a league one club with only two centre forwards who can’t play all the games we have

Last time he was sulking (contract negotiations) I remember the ball came to him (he didn’t want it), he scored immediately, did a sulky celebration then went back to sulking. But no I don’t think he’d sulk.

Maybe he was sad that he was having to leave? Anyway scoring the goals is the bit we need

Good point made by Leigh Curtis - by following the rules and not making signings simply for the sake of it, we may be looked on more favourably by the EFL in the summer when the business plan is reviewed…..easing the restrictions will be crucial in giving us a chance to be competitive next season..

Absolutely work within the restrictions but don’t expect any help from the EFL

If they have no chance of a first team game, why would you send your youngsters to a totally decimated U23 squad to play games. Don't get it. Can we play them if required or is it back to the EFL with a request.

Maybe we would be considering signing them next summer - who knows whilst at Arsenal the youngsters are probably on a lot more money than we would be prepared to pay currently - it’s nice that they want to come here to be fair

  8. For me it’s not the way the EFL have treated us so much it’s how they have treated other clubs who are in similar strait’s because consistency is totally missing with a climate of totally changing the so called rules and interpretations.

The worse thing - the absolute worst thing was the EFL allowing a situation to occur where we were being blackmailed with the very existence of our football club because of the actions of the owners of Middlesbrough and Wycombe football clubs.

Yes and that is after the EFL trying to force them to sell him for £5m - 'in accordance with the EFL business plan' imposed on Brum.

Think the EFL even charged Brum with breaking the terms of the plan !!!  (Eventually sanity prevailed and no penalty applied - I think)

I think that was Adams that they tried to force the sale and Birmingham refused and good on them in that respect as they doubled the amount 3 months later from a bid from Southampton

I've done a deep dive on him, it was actually two seasons ago when he was at Portsmouth. They felt that he was technically a good footballer, but struggled to have an impact on games.

He's since remained at Spurs, been a part of their first team, albeit appearances have been sparse. Mourinho was actually the first to integrate him into the first team picture. He's only made one appearances this season, despite being on the bench a couple of times, he played DM against Arsenal last week in a 2-1 win (U21 level).

He looks in a similar mould to Liam Thompson. I'm sure he will prove to be a good player to have, but the last position I expected us to make a move - unless, of course, Bird is out until April (for example).

Even if Bird was out that long we still have Hourihane Smith knight Sibley and Tompson which is very decent and Rooney can play right back or even midfield and we still have Chester who could play right back - if we use up our options in midfield we may not get a centre forward - I think we are struggling to get an experienced one who is any good anyway.
