If the penalty hadn't been given we'd have still lost the game. A goal was coming. Exactly the same as Saturday.
They had one shot on target which was going to be an easy save before the hideous deflection - A goal was not that likely at all on that basis

I don't want VAR at any level. Even more so in L1, the standard of refereeing is so bad we would spend just as long checking VAR and correcting decisions as in open play.
Yes but the FA can ban people for Diving and should do so as well and fines

Not sure you need to be a tv expert to judge whether there was contact or not?
Dont agree with your assessment of White, when the going gets tough he is non existent and was at fault for both goals. I know he is young but if he wants to be making it at a higher level we need to see more from him, I've seen nothing to impress me so far.
Agree with the rest of your post though.
I agree about White, I have seen nothing from him that Tompson can’t do - to be honest we need to shoot more and the basic formation we have been playing knight can drop back a bit and Sibley can play advanced because he does shoot to score goals

If they'd let us retain Jagielka.
Lawrence hadn't spat his dummy out against Peterborough.
Reading weren't signing 3 players under embargo.
We'd have stayed up.
Amongst other things - and soon Reading will have their 6 points suspended activated which should have been last season to add to the pile

I just listened to the interview by Warne and if I heard him making excuses about the standard of officiating against the club then this would have disturbed me greatly.
Instead he was honest enough to detail what things his team didn't do well enough tonight rather than focus on things outside of his sphere of influence which is to his credit.
That's where I am.
Yes he was very good in his interview- but we are still being shafted he just didn’t say that
-
The answer is no - yet if we had McGoldrick last season we would have stayed up

Combined IQ of 93. The only sport where cheating happens on an industrial scale and is explained by it being part and parcel of the game. If you can’t beat em join em, we’re too soft maybe ?
There’s a difference between things being debatable and open cheating

Watching SKY it's easy to see that football is eventually going to die.
Whatever her name is, Jamie Mackie and Cowley 1 or 2 discussing tonight's penalty, said its a hard one to call, justifying the player cheating by saying White stuck his leg out so minimal if any contact was enough to dive, and praising the ref for giving a positive decision.
THE GAME IS DYING, and this mealy mouthed approval is just helping it on his way.
The Plymouth guy dived, they beat us because they cheated and that is apparently OK. We'll it isn't ok with me, you make your own minds up
I can take losing it’s not that important but I hate cheats and they stay cheats for the rest of their lives - those sky panelist’s were a disgrace to football

Yes the penalty was a poor decision but we can’t control what the ref sees and what decisions he makes. What we can control is the game when leading 1-0.
first half we looked good, chances created, goal scored and solid. 2nd half we looked the complete opposite. We didn’t look competent on the ball and simple passes were not completed. We goofed the ball up top hopefully and lost 90% of our battles. We didn’t get to the 2nd balls and break up attacks well enough. We also showed nothing going forward, not at 0-1, not at 1-1 and not at 2-1. We didn’t even seem able to put an attach together. Zero quality.
a few stats in the 2nd half….
- We only had 40% possession.
- We had 1 shot on target and 1 shot off target in 50 mins.
- We had 2 corners
- We Attempted 143 passes but only completed 83Those stats above aren’t good enough when trying to control a game when leading and then trying to get something from the game when losing & drawing.
As Warne said we need to do much more and not just play for 45mins. Otherwise we won’t even be in the Playoffs….
The only chance our goalkeeper had to make a save was the penalty which balances things a little

if by chance we do get into the play offs, our record against the top teams is dismal, so my expectations are very low
If by chance we win the play offs, then next season could by a disaster. As we not be able to improve the squad and we’d be playing better teams every week
i think the season after next is when we can look forward to some success
Hold on we have beaten 2 of the top 6 drew in 2 and lost 4 - if you can tell me other than Barnsley away where we still could have scored 4 where we deserved to lose or the opponent wasn’t fortunate to win

But Sky calling out players for cheating may go some way to eradicating it from the game. Having them basically praising it is disgusting.
Absolutely - they were actually disgraceful in trying to justify it.
-
Considered thoughts
Roberts - where were you for the first ? White should also have stopped the player
Cashin - lots of games lately where he is just bashing the ball to no one - must do better
our subs - basically apart from at port vale they have little impact in terms of affecting it
Plymouth we’re decidedly average and very fortunate
first goal hideous deflection
second goal penalty plain and simple cheating and there is a lot of it in division three - I hate cheating because that is what you are forever
that’s nine penalties given against us this season and probably only were there two fouls it seems in all of them
if we make the play offs I would like to play Plymouth
nothing worse than being cheated at anything.

How on earth are we the favourites with some bookies?
Due to the amount of money involved ?

I am sure the Plymouth supporters will be hoping that they can benefit from a deflected shot, an offside goal awarded and a last minute slip from a youngster for their goals as at pride park whilst we are unable to run around in midfield again due to having no pre season with any players, let’s hope for a good game

Yesterday must have been a real bummer for Rams fans. OK it favors us and say Bolton also but they'll be no gloating from this end. This league is tough - for want of better words - it's a real nasty division to get out of, maybe like ourselves you thought it'd be easy and we'd make it back at a first attempt. You know, big club names that were successful in the 1970s and got League Championships to their name. Unfortunately It doesn't quite work like that.
I understand the hurt of scores like yesterday, nothing disingenuous, teams like Derby County or indeed Bolton / ITFC don't really deserve or seem out of place to be in this s*** league but it's been a mess of our own making. Make no mistake it's tough to make it back, don't take it the wrong way or anything but suppose Derby don't get a promotion this year, it could take maybe another 2 or 3 seasons - maybe more - to achieve it. That's the reality.
That's not a criticism, just from someone who knows what a task it can be - or is - to escape League One status and make it back to Championship level. You got Plymouth Argyles in your next game if correct, guess a number of our own fans shall be rooting for you as we got to take any and all points Plymouth may drop in the final weeks run-in. It's the only way other club names will get an opportunity.
In all probability Town and Rams won't get an automatic promotion, I'd like to avoid you in a play-off situation, our record is beyond lousy and I think a two-game event would favor yourselves as past experience dictates we just won't make it.
I see Davey McGoldrick is scoring plenty for you. He didn't do much for us in that capacity although spent a lot of time on the injury roster. He's become almost a new player of what some can remember. I wish you well in team endeavors for the Plymouth game.
Of course we think everything is easy - no full time manager until October - 5 players under contract a week before we kicked off - not allowed to pay transfer fees - not allowed to pay agent fees - not allowed to give contracts over two years long - not allowed to give higher wages under a imposed business plan - no player between the age of 22-29 due to the above and most sold to survive. Playing players out of position due to big gaps in the squad - yes we all thought this season would be easy ? actually yesterday’s game against Shrewsbury was a decent one to watch - if it helps we haven’t seen a good side this season which is why some sides collect regular wins because it’s hard not to win if you actually play football. Yes we have been in the third division before and yes we know what is needed to get out of the league via promotion and we have a serious chance of doing just that with our rag tag band of senior professionals who were without a club and a few untried youngsters. You probably should be more concerned about the amount of money spent and the contracts some of your own are sat on within the large squad you have assembled.
yes McGoldrick doing ok for a 35 year old centre forward and we have similar in Collins a journeyman centre forward as his only cover.
If it helps we actually have no concerns at all but we are all very well tuned in to our situation which clearly you are not.

Strange season in the premiership and the Red dogs have had a lot of luck especially in some of their 1-0 wins where the opponents missed massive easy chances and having the World Cup break to totally re organise instead of losing 4-0 every week
-
Everton should have won that - they stopped trying to score and let Forest continue their long ball game
-
Wildsmith
Rooney. Forsyth. Cashin. Roberts
mendiz smith knight Hourihane Barkhauzen
McGoldrick
-
I enjoyed the game !
disappointed with the resulta few observations - Rooney did well as did smith until the harsh penalty from where I was - mendiz Lang does very little from the bench this season (start him) Dobbin is that enigma of a player - poor goal conceded from the free kick both the wall and possibly the keeper - two nice goals by us - it’s a point move on

Big E doing the business once again. Confirming his commitment. Think we've got to the stage where we're the number one priority now and we send our fringe players to Greece rather than the other way around.
In breech of the EFL FFP quite obviously then

Who are we playing - Shrewsbury- it’s Cotterill so the ball will be in the air so Roberts will start and the ball will be by passing midfield if we let them have it. If we are winning late on I fully expect to see Davies on the pitch adding to the numbers. I am not expecting a game of football to break out so hopefully we start very very well.

I base my thoughts on the five goals they were given against us - two of which were big deflections one was offside one was a complete muck up from Cashin and one a cheat for a penalty - sure we haven’t played well but we have put out very limited team selection in my opinion as well
