So let me get this correct - one club can hold a complete stranglehold on another club if both clubs don’t agree on a solution because the governing body won’t have anything to do with resolving it - ultimate BS don’t you think? - so we can have an obvious claim against QPR under that then !

And Villa, escaping to the Promised land shouldn’t make them immune.

I find it hard to get my head around us getting sued by Boro and Wycombe in this way, but not putting a claim in against QPR for similar that occurred in 2013/14. I know I've read before that Mel Morris said he wouldn't pursue such a case, but is it too late, or would the administrators take it upon themselves to do so on behalf of the club and the creditors?

On the downside, of course a legal case like this would normally take a long time to deal with, and time is one thing we certainly don't have at the moment. On the other hand, can cases like this be taken in tandem so if we lost the case against Boro and WW then we would win the case against QPR for what I'd imagine should be a similar sum to help make the club more saleable?

Forget QPR, Villa posted a £68m loss when they beat us at Wembley. And based on Boro’s claim why can’t we also sue Wolves amongst others?

Take them to court… the EFL will be bricking it then.

I do understand your point and let’s say we agree to pay over millions of pounds to the owner of Middlesbrough football club for what becomes an agreement then we would expect the Middlesbrough players to put claims in against Derby county for lost promotion bonuses and expected contract increases, what would your view be? To pay them as well? - it’s never ending and has to be stopped at source which is where the EFL are failing. I want what is best for Derby county but paying anything to Middlesbrough and Wycombe on these supposed claims is a dreadful thing to do.

Their claims should be against the EFL who are happy to stand aside as it keeps them out of the firing line.

Did Bournemouth beat boro by just 1 point while over spending . I havent checked but if thats so then yeah your correct . And yeah im dcfc through and through but the fact is gibsons claim has merit but not to the tune of 45m and sending Derby bust . The only way out of this is for Derby to pay the gate receipts from the play offs or cease to exist . With that in mind and i hate saying it i would pay that and move on .

Why isn’t Gibson going after Villa too then? Same season, same claim.

He’s purposely going after Derby because of Morris, is it really worth liquidating a club for the gate receipts of two play off games?

The EFL need to learn from this and stop clubs overspending and getting away with it through promotion.

  5. Brilliant performance from the lads, this is a proper bunch of players who quite rightly get backed by the fans.

Lawrence, two superb goals and leading from the front… please don’t leave before next Saturday!

Ebosele, joint MOM for me and he’s only going to get better. I assume that we’ll receive some derisory bids for him too.

If (and it’s a massive if) we can keep our players then we have a massive opportunity in what is a 20 game mini season to stay up and in turn give a big middle finger to Gibson.

Possible but at present what is the stadium without the football team? I actually hope in the future we do utilise the potential revenue the stadium could generate a bit more.

Bring the stadium bands back, it's been 15 years since Red Hot Chili Peppers played there, would love to see a return to this along side the football of course.

Zach Parker is potentially fighting Andrade on April 23rd at Pride Park.

Does anybody understand why Nixon is claiming the club cannot be sold until the Boro and Wycombe claims have been sorted

I would assume that no bidder would want to buy the club with (nigh on unlikely) possible legal action looming for the figures currently being discussed.

Gibson is probably only doing it to delay the takeover past January which in turn makes us more likely to be relegated.

  8. He’s done pretty well in appalling circumstances.

A couple of points that I feel he should change though.

Give Davies the armband. Nothing against Lawrence but Curtis is unquestionably the best leader in that dressing room.

Put round pegs in round holes. don’t just pick your strongest XI, play your strongest team.
That strongest XI doesn’t include Morrison for me.

Daily mail is stirring up trouble, usual rag newspaper stuff to fill out its pages.

It's unfair to blame administrators who are qualified in this sort of thing and will not do anything unethical or illegal.

Potential owners will have been versed on these things.

Kirchners aware of the club's full financials and still makes the trips to watch games.

Hes aware that hmrc would put the club onto a repayment plan.

The only other thing hanging over the club is the legal claims by Wycombe wanderers and Middlesbrough, I believe a good lawyer for Derby can crush those claims plus appealing to the efl as if these cases were won it would set a dangerous precedent.

Let those two claim off us… we’ll pay it out of our money from QPR and Villa.

Problem is we may get less than £10 million in a fire sale . First charge on any assets goes to Msd. So Hmrc still get nothing, in fact more likely to get nothing from a fire sale than a planned sale of players at higher prices.

    Oh dear!

I didn’t think that they would get too much of the pie when HMRC are involved.

Even more reason then to arrest Mel if he won’t pay up.

  11. Let’s take a deep breath!

If this story has more truth than clickbait in it then there is an easy solution that I’m sure isn’t mentioned (I don’t click on scummy press links).

Get to January and reluctantly sell our assets of Lawrence ( not much because of his contract), Bird,Knight etc

Clubs will be queuing up to pick the meat off the bones but we should be able to find maybe £15m? Derby won’t be sunk over £5m surely?!

We’re going down so the only priority now is taking to a League One pitch next season.

How many points will we get from these 3 games? I agree if we win one it will be great..im going for 6 points ?

After the Barnsley performance and what Davies said about the training issues I don’t see how we’ll suddenly beat the two runaway teams in this division.

  13. No chance.

we’ve only won 3 games so far and those of you thinking that the new owner will splash the cash in January are very optimistic in my opinion.

Once the bills have been settled I can see a period of prudence, a reset if you like.
