  1. So, I have decided to run the following competition to win the shirt.

I have sealed in an envelope, the name of a Derby County player from the period 1985-2023 (how long I have been attending matches). The winner will be the person who chooses the correct player by donating to my Just Giving page and entering that name into the comment box.

    Minimum donation is £5.

    Thank you.

If that penny hasn't dropped for you yet then I suggest you try a different 2p machine.

The toy was right on the edge of dropping though 😂

I try not to join in with the hysteria of the fan base and be critical in a constructive way. The tactics today showed me that he is severely lacking the nous to Coach a squad of players at a fairly big club with a fair amount of pressure.

  3. I’ve got the yellow shirt and both the 88/89 shirts, the first kits that I ever bought.

They don’t make them like they used to.
I also recently managed to buy the second Errea/Pedigree home shirt, the first one is the one I’m always looking out for.

  4. So we managed to get a much needed win when the pressure was on, albeit against a very poor side (their number 12 at the back should receive the freedom of Derby 😂).

Crewe away, who are doing well this season will be a test but it’s the next league game against Barnsley where we will get a clear indication about where our ambitions lie for this season. Will we see us try to impose ourselves on a promotion hopeful using an easier on the eye style of play or will we see more of the usual local league direct play?

If it’s the latter then Tuesdays win will be an already distant memory.

The stadium needs to be bouncing from the start to give the players no excuse.

    And stop singling players out!

  5. The football is dreadful, we seem to be drawing parallels with Man U in that respect where a clear pattern of play isn’t evident after all this time.

Time for the players to step up on Tuesday, if the performance isn’t a-lot better then it’s time to accept that Warne cannot get a tune out of his squad and make the change.

Its a shame that it’s too late to get Warnock in, promotion is more important than a long term plan at the moment.

  6. Warne should be given credit for changing his formation, even though he signed players for the favoured 3-5-2.

Also, I saw a statistic earlier saying that Derby were the joint highest scorers away from home along with Leicester.

The football isn’t great so far but I’d like to point out how poor and basic Rowettball was with a higher quality of players at his disposal.

Wilson at 10 could be a real difference maker for us especially at home when teams sit back, he has the quick feet to find the space and pick a pass.

Bird and Hourihane coming back will also help us start to dictate the midfield more.

We’re on a good run of form, I’m certain that we’ll see us at the top end of the table soon enough.

Just please don’t let Cheltenham wake up on Saturday 😂

  7. The tactic’s for this team are so one dimensional and that is the problem.

Set pieces: Why do our players stand in a line? Their defenders were actually holding 2 or 3 of ours at a time to stop them moving.

I think we will be more incisive with Bird and Hourihane in the middle and Sibley at 10, Waghorn is not McGoldrick.

Yes it’s early days still but Warne has got to stop setting us up like Rotherham and more like a side with one of the best squads in League One.

  8. Hi Everyone.

I’m looking for some suggestions on how I can maximise the fundraising potential of a new Derby shirt which is signed by the first team squad. I have been told that it will be done when the players next sign items at Moor Farm.

I have signed up for the Everest Base Camp trek in November 2024 through working for the Co-op and our charity is Barnardo’s.

I’m currently busy trying to reach my target of £6000, if any of you would like to share and donate to my Just Giving page.

    Thank you.

  9. Whilst I generally enjoy listening to Warne I don’t agree with his comments basically telling the squad that they won’t get promoted.

there’s still time for some signings to come in, I imagine he had a negative mindset after learning about the length of time that the injured players would be out for.

if we can’t get out of League One this season then that will fall squarely at his feet.

Get rid of that s**** Billy sharp one and I don’t care what we sing.

Isn’t funny, isn’t actually good banter, just a bunch of pee ricks after too many shandies and a nose full of powder trying to provoke a reaction.

Could be awkward if as Nixon the oracle says, we are in for him.

  11. Offensive players are the most sought after one’s who also cost the most money, maybe we have a player or two lined up but the selling/loaning club are looking at a replacement first.

So many experts on here who don’t know what is happening in the background. we are a League One club on a business plan irrespective of how massive the fans think we are, we can’t just click our fingers and every player that Warne wants comes running.

I always look forward to the start of the season… maybe some people should do the same!

Next 5 away games will be a big say in where we finish...

    Wycombe
    Barnsley
    Plymouth
    Oxford
    Peterborough

If we can beat Plymouth then the automatics really are within our grasp, as We don’t play the Wendies until the last game of the season this is our best chance of finishing second.

  13. So Warne has one of his targets pretty much signed up, it’s just whether he comes this month or in the summer. Limits the guesses to players in the final six months of their contract.

Bring a RB in and that then means Smith can go back to the midfield as an option.

I’d take Shinnie back, you know that he’d give 100% and he should still do a job at this level.

Marriott? No thanks, he can’t be a player that Warne would want. He’d break down too often.

  14. Solid performance but I agree with Warne about the lack of tempo, we allowed them to grow into the game after we opened the scoring.

McGoldrick is too good for the Third Division, I hope that we can keep him.

Sibley was really good, could that be his permanent position?

    Cashin, solid as usual.

Knight has to play in this team regardless of how we’re doing, he showed what he brings to the team once he came on. Swap him for Hourihane v Bolton which will obviously be a tougher game.

If Warne can get a RB in then we certainly have a side capable of chasing down the top two, it’s going to be a thrilling second half of the season.
