Appreciate he might not be as exciting as some of the names rumoured, but perhaps he could be what we need? Everyone lost their mind when Colin Kazim Richards signed but he was exactly what that team needed.
Just saying, if he signs then why not wait and see before writing him off...

Honestly wouldn’t mind him, he scores goals and that’s something we’re desperately missing right now. 1 year deal I don’t think is an awful bit of business. Person aside he’d be a quality signing for league 1

Well actually there was an uplift wasnt there…. Quite an epic one which at one point had us all dreaming of catching the running away with it top 2
but then the toils of having the smallest squad in the league took its toll
funny what people chose to ignore and remember

    An absolute class act.
I hope he doesn’t get the Keogh or Roos treatment.
Some players just pass through, but he has really taken the club to heart. Let’s not forget how thrilled we were to see him sign a new contract last summer. He has built up that kind of connection with the club.
This season probably hasn’t gone as he would have expected, and today’s minute of madness probably underlined that.
But that doesn’t diminish years of great service. I hope he stays in the fold in some capacity. If not, he goes with nothing but complete respect and well wishes.

I think PW is exactly the right man for us at the moment. With a very limited budget, under-performing players and players that aren't 'his' I think he did pretty well.
If we can have a proper run at next season I feel we could really have a chance of automatics if we can keep hold of Bird, Knight, etc.

Just watched PW’s pre-match Pompey. Highly verbally intelligent as always and a lovely tribute to the fans and Pride Park at the end which moistened the eyes. It’s not over yet I know …but regardless of whether we get play-offs or not, what are the 3 stand-outs which will stick in the memory for you for League One 2022/23; they don’t have to be positive, just stand-out and season-defining. Mine:
    1. David McGoldrick - sublime. I used to watch Charlie George like a hawk and still marvel at the memories. Didzy is up there with Charlie for me. Wonderful feet and vision and contribution which will stick in my memory bank.

    2. Standard of Refereeing: All I’ll say is that it has on the whole been like one long episode of the League of Gentlemen & Inside Number 9 rolled into one. Port Vale at home!?! What did we do to deserve these refs? They are caricatures of themselves.

    3. Max Bird away at Cheltenham - 2nd goal - “he must have a foot like a trac-shun-En-gin!” …What a goal.

If the season ends on Sunday 7th so be it. I’ve really enjoyed it and we have next season. 🐏

    Who is getting carried away?
Read my post again - I said we still have work to do and we have to expect Peterborough will push us all the way.
It’s taken us most of the season to find what, sorry? Didn’t we go unbeaten from October onwards for several months and play our best football of the season during this period?
In any case, surely time to gel, time to find consistency and so on comes with the territory when you’ve assembled an entire squad in a matter of weeks and hired a permanent manager towards the end of September?
All I am saying is Warne and the players deserve credit for recovering our position when everything seemed to be against us.
How would it be too little too late? Our fate is in our own hands and we can still conceivably finish 5th or 6th and go up through the play-offs. If anything, we are rediscovering our form and energy reserves at just the right time - we only have a maximum of 5 games in the next 35 days.

Record between the teams currently in the Playoffs, with the game between Derby and Sheff Weds still to be played.
    Barnsley - 10 points
    Derby - 8 points
    Bolton - 6 points
    Sheff Weds - 5 points
Rank outsiders? Really? A win on three final day and we go into the playoffs with the best record in the mini-league. Even with a defeat, we wouldn't have the worst record.

I'm not sure anyone knows what your point is. How many players have a better goal contribution record than McGoldrick vs top 9 sides?
5th best away record in the league (season) and 4th best (last 6 games)

Clarke-Harris, the league's top scorer has the same number of goal contributions against the top sides too, but in 15 games rather than McGoldrick's 12. That's also in a side which scores more than Derby.

They will be challenging for top spot in league 2 next season.
It is way over the top but I like the story, I think they bought the club for the right reasons and seem determined to go as far as they can rather than a short term publicity stunt.
In my opinion the EFL need to wake up to the benefits of social media and putting their product out there instead of sitting in the corner and doing what they are told by the premiersh*t.
They consistently undersell the product they have and maybe having a glimpse into how Wrexham generate interest and money may bring them kicking and screaming into the modern age.
I also hope, by the way, that Notts County get promoted.

Sibley's best performance for a while, before he got his beak smashed in anyway, and the front three are really starting to look threatening and cohesive. Just need the goals to back them up now!
Didzy might well be up there with my favourite Rams to watch ever. He's just a delight!

This win is huge!! Massive!! More importantly it is 100% deserved!! This was an excellent performance, best we’ve played away for ages. Ok first half, controlled. Second half we went for the jugular, scored two great goals, could’ve scored more, a goalkeeping error made it more nervy than it needed to be although he’s made two unbelievable saves in this match. Closed it out well in the end and Dobbin should’ve made it 3.

Performances, Didzy is a genius but the midfield were excellent second half, the back 3 were awesome, I thought Davies was done but he was mega tonight. Mendez looked like he had some swagger back, Sibley always a threat. Can’t really fault anyone. Still can’t get over the Wildsmith save first half, huge moment.
It’s one game. We MUST back it up but this team tonight showed that if we get in the playoffs (I believe we will now) we can be a real danger and we have a good chance. We’ve also shown that if Didzy gets injured we’re screwed, but we know we have a small squad.
Also, “Warneball”, just what is that? It must be fluid attacking football because tonight I saw hardly any long ball, only fluid attacking play especially in the second half.  He deserves huge credit tonight he really does. He rolled the dice with the team selection and it worked, his tactics were absolutely spot on and playing football like that second half I can’t understand how anyone could think that’s dour one dimensional football.
Also those who went enjoy the journey home or your night out in Exeter. You deserve it!!!

The people who used to use "xG" the defend results under Rosenior now never mention "xG" under Warne. I'm not a fan of "xG" but I did check the other day and noted that one site has us ranked 3rd in the league for total expected goals and one site has us 4th for "expected results based on xG".
It's called picking and choosing stats to fit your narrative.
For the record I backed Rosenior and was disappointed that he left, and I back Warne too. Both have done a decent enough job this season with the resources available.

The normal form table of 6 games shows Sheff Wed on 4 points from those 6 games including 3 points from the last 4 games against those the so called dross, Forest Green, Cheltenham, Lincoln and Oxford. You could make the same statement about Darren Moore, incidently, we picked up 13 points from those 6 fixtures.
It's very easy to produce stats, to 'prove' an argument, just like my stats, which are unbalanced.

As bad as our run has been, I hadn’t realised Sheff Weds had completely collapsed, level with us over 8 games in the form table and below us if you bring the games down to 6.
Shows how it can happen to anyone in this division, even those that 10 games ago looked near invincible.

At this stage of the season all that matters is 3 points, especially as the side is obviously short of confidence following recent results. Be lovely to play to play slick, passing game but that is not where we are at the moment. Paul Warne can’t win at the moment in many fans eyes. We played both Plymouth and Peterborough off the park in the first halves, only to be outdone in the second, when opposing teams changed their tactics but we were unable to respond due to the shortcomings of our very small squad ( I.e. lack of a strong tackling midfield and pace). Today we swamped midfield to keep things tight and I believe the plan was to play on their fullbacks - Mendez-L was prominent, Sibley was not.
It wasn’t a great watch but I’ve seen this type of game numerous times at this time of the season - it’s tense and free flowing football is difficult. Can I remind people that our comical 2nd goal came from another Paul Warne wish - pressing high up the field.

At this stage of the season I will take another 1-0 bore against MK Dons as long as the 3 points are in the bag. He can entertain me next season, when he has more of a side he wants.

In vokes they have the best target man in this league by a country mile and fozzy hardly won a first header. Korey Smith won't facer a tougher test than McCleary and obita on the left and faced a constant menace from them 2 all game. Win the next 2 home games and this game will be forgotten
