Don’t hang your hopes on this guy. Screenshotted this last summer. Lies on both accounts. Does get some things right but all the bad calls mysteriously get deleted…

Tonight was rubbish but everything I’ve heard him say makes sense, which heartens me. I don’t think he wants hoofball but he wants to faff around less and be on the front foot. Either got the wrong players or players with the wrong attitude at the mo.  I don’t think this is the group of players to see out his vision, but I think that’s why they’ve gone for the 4 year deal. There’s a long term plan, even if short term it’s not a good fit.

On radio derby basically said he’s the worst tackler he’s ever seen, so had to come off.

Tidy but ineffective. It’s frustrating cos we all know there’s a bit more in the tank aaaand it’s a similar story to last seasons away games. Up and down the flank, back to centre backs, repeat. Cross occasionally.  Then, and now still, it doesn’t feel we’re brave enough to take a risk on a killer pass or drive towards the box often enough. No coincidence Dobbin and Sibley brought more of that and we looked a little more likely towards the end. Think this’ll be the main thing that separates a decent campaign and a promotion one. Feel sorry for collins cos he works his socks off but is often fighting the whole back line for a cross. Can’t be too disheartened in the grand scheme of things. Last season we probably lost this one 1-0.

I think it kills them that in their moment of long awaited glory and our lowest standing for decades, we’re actually the happier fans. We’re Teflon at the moment and they’re desperate to twist a knife that doesn’t exist. Though most of the knuckle draggers on Twitter probably can’t comprehend any of that.

Thought he’d be wasted at right back but first 15 mins especially he did a great job of getting involved in attack with NML and his tracking back at pace saved a certain goal when otherwise clean through.

He’s a great player but there’s still a question mark about where he’s best; in the middle he’s very busy, wins lots of fouls but, despite having a decent shot on him, seems there’s still a bit of a question mark over his creative effectiveness. Long story short, this might actually be a good fit for him, depending on what the rest of the team looks like.

Tonight reminded me of last season when Lawrence was suspended; around the box happier to knock it backwards instead of chancing the progressive pass or drive into the gaps. He seemed to be the only one at times that broke this cycle. I’m not reading too much into it, but we will need to break that cycle and be a bit cannier/braver to do anything in this division.

Do you really hope that? After the last few years we’ve had?
People either have very short memories or are watering down the gene pool.

Isn’t this the fundamental of modern football?
I can’t see the business plan allowing for too much audacious spending, even on wages. The pot we’ve got, if we went big on a couple of players I doubt there’d be enough to even fill the rest of the squad.
im sceptical those signings would happen and if they do you’d hope it’s because the project appeals of a bit of a sleeping giant and a strong chance of first team football.

So today summed up this season really; lots to be positive about, slick midfield play, promising youths, good backing but ultimately lacking up top and end up coming up short… and leaving with an uneasy feeling about our future, still.
on a personal positive, my first visit to pride park again for a few years (yet feels an eternity), with my 5 year old daughter in tow for her first ever game, and she actually enjoyed it. Does that constitute child cruelty, when we live near Leicester?
