I know the North stand is completely closed for this but it seems like loads of blocks all around the ground are closed also. Just a few blocks available. Very sad.

Even when support was up these types of games were lucky to get past 8k. Can see it being a 3 or 4K tomorrow. Me and 3 others who couldn’t make Huddersfield are going and we have the voices of 2000 men so expect some atmosphere.

Yes it was, 16249. Stoke had 9000 odd i believe, Sheff Utd 29000

Even when we got 11 points we came down to 32,000 or so almost week in week out the season after. Both clubs are in contrasting positions at the moment! So no suprise in the difference

Unpopular opinion but Bird offers absolutely nothing to our team. Receives the ball too square never on the half turn so his only option is ever backwards. Could do with a day watching Thorne’s highlights. Not a battler nor a passer or progressive player. I despise the fact that we get a free kick and the takers first instinct is to look behind him.

Morrison may well be able to pick a forward pass. We can only hope. Decent result today but Huddersfield will be down there with us. 2 points lost for us and a point gained for them.

I’ll keep saying this for the next 2 years. But I honestly think Liam Thompson will overtake bird in that two. Just needs to take his chance if and when he gets it.

    Not the best is it

I actually think considering all that’s happening to Derby that’s putting people off, the economic impact of the pandemic on some people, the fact some people won’t want to be in big crowds, and people like myself who are away cause it’s august (I myself know 5 others who would be going today but are on holiday or elsewhere) …. Considering all that, I think over 20k is good going.

I don't see the point in protesting agree with you there, but i do see the point in letting him know exactly what we think of this tbh. I don't think letting him know how we feel in person is the same as a protest which as you say is pointless seen as he wants out.

O yeah to be clear I completely get why people are in that mindset and what to air their opinion, so not criticising that at all  - just personally don’t see the point in doing it outside the ground as an organised protest. I’d say just do it before kick off, half time and after kick off in the ground. It’s just never ending this is isn’t it ??

Listening to Radio Derby, still none the wiser about what was said last night other than Mels trying to sell and please don’t protest. Seems more and more last night was just Mel trying to tell everyone how bad it is for him. I hope others have more info the this Jim bloke

Yeah I wouldn’t say I know anything knew to what I new on Tuesday. I’m not really sure what I expected mel to say anyway in all honesty. I guess just some positive news about signings would have been nice!

Can anyone remember during the Mac years when we had a ‘What the opposition are saying’ thread and it was full of opposition fans gushing over our team and the way we had built the 2013-14, 2014-15 sides?

I wonder what those same fans are thinking now.

Incredible how we went from that to this. Only one man responsible for it all.

Was literally thinking about the view from the outside thread earlier and what it would be like now. It’s depressing to think where we thought the club and that team was heading after that play off final defeat.

So what the F is Mel winging about not bringing enough through :S

I think again this is why the club should of released minutes. The way Punjab rams on Twitter reported the academy comment and the way the rams trust talked about it this morning on radio Derby came across completely different. Punjab rams made it sound like mel was unhappy with the amount that have come through - whereas on radio Derby he talked about it like Mel was just talking still about the importance of bringing through youth and how that’s been a plan over the last few years. Rather than him stating the amount through hasn’t been good enough.

So as things stand the team could look something like this on saturday??

                          Marshall

    Ebolsele    Cashin    Forsyth    Byrne

               Bird                    Shinnie

    Jozwiak        Sibley        Lawrence

                           CKR

I’d actually put Thompson in alongside shinnie and see how he does.

I'd agree with this and say Mel is wrong too. If his analysis was correct no-one ever would have bought Sunderland, Newcastle, Leeds or us in the past... Pretty sure most ownership groups are aware that keeping the fans onside is an important part of managing the club. Maybe this is just his way of saying he doesn't want to hear it in the ground as the fan base seems to have lost all patience and tensions are running high. I think the bigger danger is the gates becoming so low we become a less attractive proposition for potential buyers.

Agree with all of this - but I do again think on the last part the same logic can be applied. Any investor who has done their research can see in the last 20 years when Derby ‘does well’ the attendances shoot up and you can fill the stadium or near to if the fans have a club to be proud of (and the prices aren’t too ridiculously high). I think any new investors core aims would of course to be successful on the pitch but to get those fans back in (the two largely go hand in hand) I remember it was something stevie Mac said when he first arrived, that he wanted to get the stadium full again because he knew the support is there. Any takeover should give renewed optimism and you’d imagine the attendances would bounce back up a little. Then it’s up to the team to get the rest back in - because no one likes to see a half full pride park.

Cant verify if this email is real, but not liking the threat by Morris that if fans protest he may just walk away and leave us in the poo.

In the interview on radio Derby he didn’t mention Mel walking away, he said it might put off potential investors. Personally, protests against football boards are nothing new and in many cases most takeovers have gone through anyway - I mean the new investors would be seen as the heroes so as long as they run the club correctly they have nothing to fear. Think Mel is wrong on the impact of protests.
