If I was Mel I would have the accounts submissions double and treble checked by a senior partner of one of the big accountancy firms, we do not want a professor from the university of wallaballoo being wheeled out by the EFL to trash our accounts, sorry Mr Pearce but we need to ensure every figure and word treble checked.

You can bet your bottom dollar the EFL will be having a panel of “experts” poring over them.

They already were checked by one of the big firms in Smith and Cooper but has Kieran Maguire says they have set themselves up has a higher authority than the financiall regulatory body. Also what we did was not illegal so the EFL are on very dodgy ground so have to be vety careful.

This exactly or from other premiership clubs because I would suggest the other EFL clubs will not want to play ball with us in the transfer market due to the constant negative narrative spilled out from the EFL

EFL clubs would do business with Erik Alonso if it meant bringing in some cash in the current climate. So do not worry they will be more than happy if Derby come calling.

My favourite post on that forum is:

Rooney getting praise for keeping them up is like Arsenal's on pitch celebrations for finishing 8th

? At least they’ve got something right

I feel a little sad for Ploppy

Let's dedicate a song to help cheer him up

Does this mean anything to you guys?  I posted on here a few days ago but we have this thread on our site now.  If so its gulp time and really hard on the fans...again.

    (7) Derby | Sky Blues Talk       No link but search skybluestalk.   Suggestion that it is 4 pts deduction for season just gone.  No idea if this is true but hope not.

It means someone is telling porkies... EFL would have to appeal and then a lap impose that.

Taken from a post on the Wycombe messageboard today

"For what it's worth, a friend of mine who has friends within Derby's first team squad tells me they are all very concerned. The club aren't telling them anything, most of them think they're destined for League One this summer as a result and, given most of them have contracts which include significant pay cuts for relegation, they're almost in open mutiny. Wayne Rooney is being kept away from media over the Euros as they don't want him getting questions on Derby's plight..."

OK they are concerned... so are we all

They are being told nothing.......Neither is anyone else

Pay cuts for relegation and mutiny.... They signed the contracts and are under contract... Get on with your jobs.

Rooney not doing media.... Rubbish he would just say the same as always...... Takeover and charges dealt with by the board I cannot say more.... I am the manager till told otherwise.

Do you mean the Kieran Maguire who everyone was slagging off a couple of weeks ago.

The very same I am not his greatest fan but both on Radio Derby and the podcast he was very good at explaining  what has happened and what may happen. It is well worth a listen.... I would suggest fans from other clubs especially a certain one and his deranged followers  on a Bristol forum take a listen and educate themselves.

Well I don't I hang out on a Derby fans forum for the upbeat light hearted japes.....

I just find it amazing that people are so blinded that they cant admit that what we have done is wrong....its as simple as that, we bent every rule possible to breaking point, broke a lot of rules and are getting called out on it, so thanks to the shambolic running of the club we should suck it up and take the punishment.

We have been found guilty of a technicality hence a fine of 100k please tell of what other rules we broke.

I suggest you listen to the Rams review podcast so you get your facts correct.

  8. Just listened to the radio box experts say the resubmitted accounts hinge on 12 million pounds worth of shares that were written off when Mel took over and counted has income.

If they allow that and there is no particular reason why they shouldn't then we easily comply. If not then it maybe tight either wa.... being as this is the EFL then they will make up a rule and backdate it.

Couldn't see this commented elsewhere. Apparently according to The Athletic, Callum Minkley chose not to renew with us because we wouldn't promote him to the senior squad for next season. https://www.derbycounty.news/transfers/report-Derby-youngster-callum-minkley-rejects-contract-offer-will-leave-club/

He's 20 and many will say centre backs develop late, but I don't believe that. We've had a few promising players in that position the last few years, but haven't brought them through. Interesting to see if/where he ends up.

I would hazard a guess the advise he has received is not the best if this is the case. After playing nine U23 games last season I would say he is no position to ask for 1st assurances.

I liked what I saw of Minkley but there was no way he was ready for regularly being around the first team.

If a player comes on as a sub with 5 minutes to go and his teams 1-0 down, player scores two goals to win it 2-1, that player gets MOTM.

He may not have played all season but regards Bielik, what he did in the games he did play is what kept us in the Championship.

Byrne and Shinnie very close behind but it has to go to Bielik. Plus him winning this may make him want to stay at the club.

If you want him to stay vote for someone else we usually sell our player of the year.

. On next season's season tickets, how can they say until they know more about the EFL appeal and possibly ownership?

I would also add it is not possible to sell season tickets until they know how many they can have in the ground come next season.

At the moment and hopefully it stays that way we can open the whole ground if not they are back in the circle of refunds and how to accommodate a smaller number if any.

Matt Slater from the Athletic says having spoken to numerous people involved in football finance, the consensus appears to be that no sensible person would by the club until after it’s been into administration. Currently it has too much debt. Administration means screwing jobs, local suppliers (25p in the pound) and losing any goodwill as well as a 12 point deduction that would probably end in relegation.

One thing wrong with this is sensible people do not buy football clubs.

  13. He is 21 and never really pushed on to a first team start or regular bench appearance he only made it this season due to injuries.

He is a decent finisher, gives his all and I can see him dropping into div2  and doing well but he could also go the way of Zanzala and probably JHI and disappear without trace.

I believe there is one appeal for the losing party, it isn't a case of they could appeal but we can't. Just like Wednesday appealed their 12 point deduction and ended up with 6.

Derby can and would appeal I heard on five live the other day and are confidant that even if they had to resubmit their accounts they would fall within the FFP limits.

Ask Wigan fans if we should trust the EFL test.

There is a difference between the Wigan situation and ours... That is Trevor Birch who is now at the EFL and in charge of the test.

Birch has facilitated quite a few successful takeovers of clubs Chelsea, Leeds and Swansea to name a few he is well versed in sorting out the good from the bad in these deals and is very meticulous.

This is probably why it is taking sometime to approve or block the deal. I am not saying Birch could not get it wrong but his past history suggests he is a pretty good person to be judging this.

    Rotherham deserve nothing .

We got knocked out the FA Cup during the pandemic fielding a reserve team .

This love on for Rotherham and Wednesday stinks.

Wednesday should had a 12 point deduction as they were found guilty.

    Derby were cleared

Just tidying up a few of your points.

I understand the tone of their conversation and the fact Rotherham do well to keep bouncing between the championship and L1 despite their Bamford of a chairman.

However Dawes was wrong to say what he did I agree.......at this point of the season teams are where they deserve to be.

I was really angry last night when he was interviewing someone from Rotherham and he agreed Rotherham deserve to stay up more than Derby to the guy .

He really needs to stop this sort of stuff .

I would never ever ever agree with an opposition supporter against Derby County.

The bloke also said to him it’s  rumored on Twitter that Rooney  might play Saturday and that if hadn’t retired from playing Derby wouldn’t be in this relegation position and on that I agree

He wasn't a Rotherham fan he is  the local reporter covering the Sheffield and South Yorkshire clubs.

The point he was making was that Rotherham are working to the limit of their capabilities has a club and playing staff, where has Derby and Wednesday have a far higher ceiling.

Efl investigated Derby over what happened with Mel and his handling of raising finance using the club, they didn't approve but lost the case.

Now efl are investigating alonso over his plans for Derby, which according to the Mail, might involve refinancing the club.

Why would efl sanction something like that by allowing Alonso to pass the fit and proper director test if it involves refinancing the club.

There is nothing new in the way the deal allegedly is being structured has said earlier in the thread the same method was used at Burnley and Man Utd. It is also fairly common in the business world of buying companies.
