It is interesting that this thread has crossed over into the main football forum because of where we are as a club at the moment. (There has been a similar thread in the pub for a long while.)
What I would like to say is that while some posters may find it therapeutic  (or even amusing) to whip themselves and others up into a frenzy on here with their collective bed-wetting, that these posts are being read by those same vulnerable people. People who may not be able to interpret the facetious nature of some of those posts and are taking them literally.
It might make some think twice about the effect of their actions.

Because they don't know what it is and what it entails. It's just a term that football fans have picked up over the years and now use without any real understanding.

    Agreed.
I believe all football debts, like payments to players and other clubs, have to be paid in full regardless of administration or not.
It's quite possible our largest debt in owed to Mel, therefore we'd gain nothing from administration.

Last time I checked there were charges registered to Gabay and MSD. I think the former might have been settled, but as far as anyone knows, the latter relates to a loan. It had been said that it was for two separate loans of £15m each, but I don't think the 2nd one was ever actually taken.
I've no way of corroborating this, but I was told that the cash that Mel has injected recently has been in the form of loans and the club currently owes him £14m. That's not necessarily an issue as it could easily be that Mel will write off that debt when he sells.
Personally, I think administration would be a terrible idea. We could easily lose Pride Park and Moor Farm and be almost guaranteed to be relegated. I think that Mel would find it far easier to sell the club if he kept things ticking over, even if he sold a couple of players to inject a bit of cash - ironically our wage bill now looks to be pretty low so a new owner would have some P&S room once the stadium is open again.
IMO, Mel won't put us into administration.

So it looks like Alonso hasn’t been completely open with his intentions and this would be a leveraged buy out as opposed to a cash deal. Doesn’t mean he can’t complete the deal but it is isn’t ideal and could expose us to further risk down the line. Gut feeling says we probably don’t want him.
Where I’m struggling to join the dots is then some people have taken this to mean Mel is going to plunge the club into administration because he won’t fund us anymore. That is some leap!! This has not been mentioned anywhere, the same people were saying oh we’re not going to pay players wages through to the end of the season!! Players had one month without pay as funds weren’t in place due to the first takeover expecting to go through - there has not been one single problem since. It’s this blind baseless negativity that does my head in.
Takeover could be off (we probably want it to be off) but I’m not going to jump to make accusations that Mel is going put us into administration as they would have no foundation. And as for the club losing money - because Mel is trying to sell the club, because we have Wayne Rooney we are attracting the negative publicity - many more clubs in this division are losing money hand over fist during the pandemic.
We desperately need enough vaccinated to remove all social distancing restrictions to ensure the stadium is open for business again as one of our main sources of revenues both ticket sales and corporate hospitality.

There are 2 parties that would suffer from going into administration.
1 - Derby County Football Club would end up with a point deduction
2 - I will let you work out who would suffer from any financial hit.
If MM did not give a damn about the club I'm not sure he would have kept on covering the wage bill. Perhaps you could offer to step into his shoes to show how much of a damn you give about the club?
Anyway, I will try again, do you understand the implications of going into administration and how do you think MM would benefit from it?

I'm so very very sorry to hear about your baby. People do not talk about miscarriage. We had four. And yet before then, I had not known anyone who had experienced one. There are so many things that we face alone, and which are still fairly taboo.
(I always light a candle for all four of my lost children when I visit a church.)
And I have a lovely son - although I often forget how lucky I am!
The suicide of your bother-in-law is terrible. I was close to doing so last summer.* It is quite extraordinary how the mind can work. And I am sorry for him and everyone affected.
    * And I've never told anyone else that - only you, and the forum!

I’m trying to keep an open mind.  The article is a bit rubbish to be fair.  “We are told”, “understands”, “it’s suspected”.  So much conjecture and no idea if it’s truth or fact.  No quotes.  The article doesn’t even use the old line “sources close to the club”.  No one commented is probably because both parties agreed not to comment on the details of the deal.
The facts that we do know are that the paperwork is done, as per the original press release, and that it’s with the EFL to ratify the deal.  If it fails or goes ahead it’s because all parties, including the EFL, think it’s the right thing.  Either way, we’ll move on.
    Let’s wait and see.

This is where I know you're chatting absolute rubbish.
If you can highlight the 5 "mistakes" Roos has made as I'm incredibly interested as I'm sure you wouldn't say it was a mistake if Marshall did the same thing. In his last 2 games, I can already think of 3 "mistakes" which I know for certain you would call a mistake if it was Roos.
Preston's first he has papadum wrists to not save the shot.
Preston's second he palms a weak cross into the only striker in the boxes path, rather than leaving it out for a throw, catching it or punching it anywhere but their strikers path.
Blackburn's 2nd he palms into our own net.
These are instantly 3 "mistakes" that people would almost definitely criticise Roos for. He's also caused 2 goals directly from an shocking error, Barnsley and Forest, whereas Roos as directly caused a grand total of 0.

We really should do it this time. It's massively in our favour.
Rotherham and Wednesday know they have to win.
I don't think Rotherham will beat Cardiff which means all we have to do is draw. We're playing one of the worst teams in the league, surely we can get it over the line this time.

So we are massively in debt with Morris?
How do you explain this comment then?
How is the club's existence threatened if we owe the owner money? Is Morris really going to put the club into administration and get us a 20-odd point deduction and relegate us and then lose more money when he comes to sell it? Or if he doesn't sell the club he would lose money by being in league 1? If he sells the club he gets his money back and we won't any anything.
So why is the club's existence being threatened?

Morgan Whittaker has always struck me as being one of the good guys. Polite and friendly on social media, very loyal to Derby while he was here, put in a shift for the Community Trust. Imo, a classy footballer in the making.
I hope he goes on to have a very successful career.
Twitter rumour has it that the abuser is a Swansea fan, although why would you abuse a player who is scoring for you? Why would you abuse a player full stop?
Whoever it is, totally agree with bans but more importantly,  criminal charges.

Ultimately when Rooney leaves, hopefully this time next week he will be gone, he can look back at why he failed. For me not bringing in an experienced number 2 (as the season went on he could of swallowed some pride and asked Mac), his tactics and substitutions were ill thought, failure to strengthen the squad in January (genuinely how many would we want permanently) and finally his failure to get the players fighting for him and the shirt.
Stay up he must go - if we stay up it will purely be due to others failing to take advantage
Go down he must go - 6 defeats on the bounce in our position is unforgivable

For those not clicking the link, the headline is about Morgan Whittaker receiving online racial abuse following the game on Saturday. What is wrong with people? In the unlikely event the lad reads this forum, I hope he knows there are thousands of Rams fans wishing him well having come through the ranks at Derby, and only a handful of morons who are sad keyboard warriors and think it's somehow OK to send racial hate off into the ether.

That's a bit harsh considering Cocu and Derby managed 64 points and 10th place last season.
Cocu's miserable run at the start of the season was still marginally better than Rooney's end of season form.  I can't see any justification for believing Rooney will ever be a good manager, anywhere. There is simply nothing to back that up. I also can't understand why anyone would think we should give him another season at Derby to pursue his flailing managerial apprenticeship.
