Plus he made out like it was all fine and said we wouldn't fail P&S. People assumed Mel was telling the truth. From a guy who sold himself as a fan of the club I can't see where actual fans did too much wrong.

We cheered because we thought he was clever taking advantage of loopholes, taking on the establishment. It wasn’t so long ago he was trying to get ALL other clubs more tv money, that’s the sort of stuff we thought we were backing. There’s a huge difference between that and people thinking we were backing cheating, and unpaid bills, we certainly wouldn’t back the true MM that’s shown himself.

Neville has been one of the keen advocates for independant governance of football. You would think this story would give all the ammo you would ever need for that change to happen.  I expected more from him, especially given the Rooney connection. Well done OB.

Surely our creditors are seething seeing this all playout. There is a deal in place, they will get what they need, but if this farce continues to go on, they surely aren't anymore. Middlesbrough killing the club at this point just comes across as vindictive, particularly as the claim appears to have limited actual legal basis.
The EFL using Derby as a shield to protect themselves is also abhorrent. Again, I don't see how the EFL can continue in its current form after this. They are clearly not fit for purpose, such a body is there to manage and protect the clubs, not use the clubs as a shield to protect from their own incompetence.

I’ve always thought it’s backwards how business owners not just in football can leave businesses in admin or just fold them and walk away owing people thousands/millions. Then a lot have the cheek to start another business in a different name and can carry on as normal, not even bothered about the people they’ve left in the ****. Clearly MM is one of those, if he had any decency he’d clear HIS debts even if that meant selling his own assets.

What have Quantuma done? They didn’t just release a statement on Friday night, they released a hand grenade which has exploded spectacularly, fans have latched onto it creates momentum and within 2 working days parliament are involved. They’ve not spoken because they haven’t needed to.
EFL have nearly spontaneously combusted with their statement last night. Basically implied their insolvency rules are open to interpretation and subject to change, in other words they make it up as they go along ???
Boro come out today citing systematic cheating as the basis for their claim on a set of arguments already settled and ruled upon by disciplinary commissions (ie stadium sale) and also the same arguments as the case they brought to the LAP which was ruled against, no systematic cheating was found in ANY of the judgements in the original IDC, subsequent LAP, and final IDC ruling, all they have is subjective opinion.
Wycombe, while RD gave Couhig the platform to prove he’s a sharp lawyer, they also let him reveal his reasons for the action, which proves they absolutely have no case at all because the IDC did not rule on the Derby sanction, the fine of £100k and the restatement of accounts until after the season had ended, therefore there is no way the points could have been applied earlier, the whole process we also know was delayed by Boro’s failed action, the LAP judgement told us this.
They have all questioned the actions of Quantuma, of course they are going to!! They want to deflect from the weakness of their arguments and all those parties are concerned about how they’re being portrayed. Are Quantuma bothered, maybe/maybe not but it’s not about saving public face it’s about getting a deal done no matter how dirty it gets. They’ve not spoken to Boro and Wycombe because they don’t believe the claims and have a legal way around them potentially, so they weren’t priority, doing a deal with HMRC was absolute priority, while Pauline Latham said we wasn’t entirely happy about her meeting with the administrators, I’m sure I read another post say she believes it has implied Quantuma have a deal with HMRC. In fact we go back to Quantuma’s statement last Friday and that also implies they have a deal in place with everyone (or at least a route forward) except Boro and Wycombe. The events of the last few days have refocused everyone and led all parties to say they’re willing to come to the table to try and sort this out - maybe that is what they wanted and exactly what was needed.
The MPs are now challenging ALL parties to get this deal done and that is the right approach and Quantuma will be under pressure to deliver on their requirements.

Boro and wycombe are colluding. They are purposefully using the word ‘cheating’ because they know catchphrase brexit Britain will jump on it.
The biggest fact that is being omitted from all the stories all along and that Derby have not done nearly enough to communicate is that the accounts were signed off and Mel openly talked in the fans forums how we amortised players. That’s why we handed new contracts to Johnson and butterfield before letting them go.  Then the EFL decided to go back on it and this point is conveniently left out by all involved. And why has no one ever just simply said to the EFL btw lads if you told us 3 years ago to stop using this accounting method, we wouldn’t have. We ever cheated, we did something we thought we could do.

Have the EFL released a statement about how they don't have a vendetta against all the other member clubs. Or is it just us?
    Funny that.
They want us gone. Keep on fighting. People are seeing them for what they are. Mainstream journos will lap it up but those who aren't blinded by greed know exactly what is going on.

Long-lime lurker here (former Ramsnetter and season-ticket holder, back in the day), now riled enough to be more proactive to save our club, and raise awareness with as wide a community as possible (given the paucity of coverage by BBC etc).
Sorry if it's been mentioned elsewhere but, given Quantuma's reluctance (or budgetary inability) to appoint lawyers to fight our corner, is there any prospect of any of our larger local law firms taking any action, either pro bono or through crowdfunding?  David Williams is Chairman of Geldards (located on Pride Park) and is a former Director.  Any other suggestions?
    Up the Rams.

To have cheated them out of a prem place, wouldn't we have had to cheat our way into a prem place?
All we cheated them out of was a rather fantastic night in Leeds, and a bit of a shindig in Covent Garden.  No more, no less!  ?

This was tweeted from MP Amanda Solloway. Does anyone know what she’s referring to about the “significantly complicating the process”? Rooney mentioned in his interview there’s other things that people don’t know about that’s playing a part in all this also?

If Rooney goes get Warnock in. He’d probably work for free if it means he gets the chance to keep us up and stick 2 fingers up at Gibson. That would definitely finish the pube headed wobble gob off.

Friday was when we found out that EFL were holding up the takeover due to the Boro/Wycombe threats of seeking compensation?

Solloway’s response, along with Andrew Bridgen’s post, suggests MPs are hoping to move with some urgency. I think aside from our Derby-centric concerns, the angle of denying HMRC money and other legitimate creditors is strong. It paints EFL as a rogue organisation acting against the interests of one of its members, the wider community - possibly in an illegal manner.

The conservative government will be keen to distract from their current debacle, and if we can be the flashpoint that spurs them on to implement The recent recommendations of overhauling the governance then all the better. We could become a cause celebre to improve their image which they definitely need.

I’ll also write to my local MP (in Sheffield) to highlight that this isn’t just an issue local to Derby as fans are all over the country, and it is also something that should have a cross-party interest.
