It may sound strange, but the points deduction is the thing I’m least worried about. I thought we may struggle this season, as did so many, so to see us with 7 points already has been a pleasant surprise.
I’m really worried about a couple of other things, namely players going forward and future embargo.
If reading everything correctly, there is a big chance that a fair few players will be sold for cash flow reasons, leaving an already threadbare squad looking like toilet paper. The only saving grace is that many of our squad were free agents anyway who had limited options.
Whats more, we will supposedly be under a 2 year embargo. This would mean we would have gone 3 (and a bit) years under embargo by the end. I’m assuming the 23 professionals rule will still apply, but that’s small consolation.
If Rooney walks, along with other staff, I’d expect Walsall to step in. His previous stint gives me hope. It was a better squad, but he turned us round and got us playing good football. He knows the kids we would have to use. Not worried (too much) about this.
It’s the years of hurt to come that I’m most worried about. The next few weeks and months are going to be rocky and will define our future. Let’s hope for decent new owners to come in (ala Leicester) and steady this ship.
I’m also excited to get to my first match of season today. Cheer the boys on and let them know that we’re sticking with this club. COYR

You're right regarding West Brom's style but a midfield that concedes possession as much as Knight/Shinnie will just give them numerous opportunities to launch the ball at us. The best way to stop that bombardment (in my opinion) is to starve them of the ball & cut down their outlets from out wide. Also fear our front men will be totally isolated unless we're just looking to hit it long into space behind their wing backs - we don't have the quality to play through their press now.
There is merit in your point that West Brom will tire second half (and their press therefore less intense) & at that point, we could look to play our natural game. My concern is that we could be out the game by that stage though.

r4derby got a reaction from mike93rh in Two season transfer ban.
This feels a bit like the headlines when the first court case was happening, suggesting we would be docked 21 points etc. It’s an extreme headline, highlighting the maximum sentence.
As Radioactive says, I reckon this gets sorted before the end of the month. However, and this is the worrying part - I don’t trust this management to come through with action on time. Looking at the past 2 years, there have been so many instances of failure to act by ownership, there is a growing doubt that we will get things done on time. Feels like we’re on a precipice and moving closer to the edge!

There’s a big chance that if VAR was used today, Fozzy would have been sent off for standing on their winger. Then who plays that ball to Lawrence?
I agree there were a few bad calls, but it does seem to even out. I still haven’t forgiven Stuart Atwell yet though

It doesn’t matter for even 1 milli-second what sort of “character” Fozzy has..
I have to say, I have just watched the game and honestly, thought that there was 1 penalty we probably deserved and that Fozzy was lucky to stay on the pitch.

to say It another way, if their full back had got away with the same sort of challenge as Fozzy did I don’t think I would be that bothered.

r4derby got a reaction from eezzeetiger in Referees costing us vs Forest in recent seasons
I don’t think Fozzy means to stamp down, he’s not that sort of character. What I meant was the way that it looks to a VAR official who won’t know the characters of each player. He looks down, then steps on the Forest player. I know it wasn’t intended, but that wouldn’t stop them giving it.
He absolutely could, but that would mean a sub and players not in same positions etc

Not sure mate. I’d have thought it would be 15% of full sale value, seeing as they paid so little in transfer fee. Or at least I hope!

If we are to accept a points deduction to get things moving ahead again, then 3 points is the most i’d begrudgingly accept.
It should be none, but if the alternative is dragging this out then the small hit might be worth it to bring an end to this shambles.

Living in Nottm, and being surrounded by Forest supporters, they are in such a bad mood with their club. Majority want Hughton out, they’re not sure they will manage to score, even have a shot against us. Many predict a win for us.
Im less confident, purely because it’s a Derby game (in many ways). Forest have lost comprehensively the last 2 games, with Stoke fans saying they’re one of the worst teams to player there in a while. However, Stoke and Wolves are decent sides, so was always going to be tough. Can see a tightly contested draw, 0-0 or 1-1, as per the last few games.
If we can continue playing on the front foot, and get a goal early that our play will deserve, that will be a good start. We also need to not go too defensive too early, and invite them to attack us. Interesting to see if Tom or Festy make the bench/starting 11 at a push. Not sure if change the starting team after last 2 Champ games, they’ve been decent. Maybe Buchanan for Fozzy, after he played in cup.
