Tamworthram got a reaction from HorsforthRam in Derby County versus Northampton Town (H) Match Thread
I don’t think anyone (in their right mind) is getting too carried away by last nights game but, @ossieram does have a point. No one else has beaten them by more than a single goal in the league this season. I’m not going to read anything (good or bad) into our next two games but the game against Barnsley (unbeaten and the best away record in the league) will be the chance to prove we have improved (hopefully).

I watched the game, and other than having a few attacks, I wouldn’t perceive it, as they “battered” us.
Maybe I just don’t buy into the modern world of exageration when people use words such as shocking, horrendous, amazing, worse game of my life, nightmare etc etc.
It was a game of football and we dominated position, then they dominated position, they didn’t “batter” us.

Hopefully nobody is actually getting carried away after last nights performance but, let's enjoy it whilst we can rather than resurrecting the same old Warne out agenda.
One small point of order, we don't actually play this Saturday. Perhaps you meant a week on Saturday when we play Barnsley. That will be a much fairer assessment of if we have improved rather than the next two cup games.

What is "a good number of fans"?
Even if you'd seen 30 people doing that (which I doubt) that'd only be 0.1283% of the number of Derby supporters who turned up at PPS last night.

The most important thing Warne needs now is consistency. If we played like we did last night, he’d have next to nobody wanting him out, even if we did come off 3-1 losers to Stevenage.
We have showed on a couple of occasions that we can play good football and get good results, if we just revert back to poor football and poor results, it’s even more frustrating.
He deserves credit for the victory last night in the same way as he deserves criticism for games like Saturday. If we just perform hot & cold, we aren’t going to progress. Hopefully it’s something to build on.

just drive to the nearest playground and offer the kids some sweeties. What could possibly go wrong?

Apparently, we had precisely zero trick-or-treaters this year (the Memsahib was at home whilst I was wallowing in the glory of our victory at PPS). Looks like I'm porking out on Haribos for the next few weeks.

basically, tell the world that there was a Hamas commander in amongst the innocent you slaughter. Simple. Nobody will ask for evidence.

I agree. Peterborough are a dangerous team and it looked to me like we made a conscious decision to sit in a bit and protect the lead.
I'd have liked us to be a bit more cavalier, but we could have handed the game back to them on a plate if we'd done so.

I don't think they "battered us" in the second half. Yes, they were the better team and had the majority of the possession but I don't remember a whole host of good goal scoring chances. Perhaps I'm miss remembering.

We weren't playing like that when warne took over Roy,all we did under rosenior was play side to side, endless pointless passing football, this was nothing like that.
Last night's performance was a vast improvement to that style.
Swift and accurate passing, the ball going through the middle as well as the wings and 4 lovely, technical finishes.
You would have enjoyed it if you had been there,I did and I've been a critic of our gameplay not being slick or enjoyable enough.
Credit to warnes management team where it's due,the changes last night were effective and there was a lot of attractive football on display.
Let's hope it continues.

Who felt last week was better? I hadn't read that, at least on here.
For me, we had eleven players out there last night with good control, both when playing and receiving the ball. Made all the difference.

Last night's performance was still night and day compared to last week. I know a lot felt last week was better, and I guess it was, but I didn't come away from that game thinking we'd turned a corner or found something, whereas last night, there's definitely a blueprint there. Just see if we can capitalise.

Well that was absolutely dreadful, pathetic, embarrassing etc etc from us. The worst performance we have put in for a long time which is pretty much the thoughts of the entire fanbase.
We set the team up with players playing out of position, despite that the lack of clear plan or seemingly effort was staggering and something I am not used to under our manager. We usually try and press high, but today we didnt do that or sit back with any sort of organisation. We did nothing but allow your players unbelievable amounts of space to just waltz through and around our team time and time again. As for Tyreece Simpson the less said the better, if you are not going to try at least try and buy a foul or something, but alas to no avail. The whole squad and manager come away with zero credit from that shambles.
I do remember this is a Derby forum though, not a Northampton one! You can only play who is in front of you and you took us to pieces, it could and probably should have been 6 or 7. We didnt handle your pace well, you had players on the half turn which we were unable to intercept or get near. Also all the finishes were tidy finishes which I felt our no keeper had any chance. Realistically we looked like a poor L2 side there, let alone a L1 side.
Anyways, all the best for the rest of the season, see you back here for the reverse fixture. I hope you pick up some form and get up the table, hopefully we get some players back from injury and can scrape enough wins to survive.

It would be foolish to suddenly think everything is rosey again after one performance.
But if tonight was anything to go by then maybe Warne has got the ability to change, adapt and improve us. That was the first time I think I’ve really enjoyed watching us this season. Let’s kick on now and go on a run! 🐏

Tamworthram got a reaction from Miggins in Warne Out Out
As I say, it’s easy to say with hindsight but not many can have reasonably foreseen the appointment of someone considered a bit of a league one promotion expert as an horrendous error at the time. The bookies certainly didn’t seem the think so and, whilst I can’t be bothered to go back through the forum, I suspect there weren’t many of us who thought so at the time. Some may have had doubts, some may have been concerned about his style of football and his ability to keep us in the championship but I doubt many considered it an “horrendous” error. Even now, if DC’s expectation and budgeting were based on us getting promoted within three years (none of us really know), he may be disappointed but not yet considering it an error to have appointed PW. I just hope PW and DC talk about and can see how we’re going to improve because I don’t think many of us fans can at the moment.
Regarding making DC pay, you phrased it as you wanted him to be punished (as I read it). I’m not saying PW shouldn’t be sacked but, if he is, we can’t expect DC to keep dipping into his own pocked and I would expect some of the compensation would have to come out of the clubs reserves and future transfer budget (assuming we have built some up).

Tamworthram got a reaction from Miggins in Warne Out Out
How do you propose the man who stepped in and saved our club (a hero in your own words) should pay for his "horrendous error"? An error (if that is what it turns out to be) is easy to see in hindsight. Was it really such a horrendous error at the time to appoint a manager with three league one promotions out of three attempts? We all know PW doesn't have a good record of keeping teams in the Championship but, without the benefit of a crystal ball, it was probably reasonable to assume that he knew how to get teams promoted.

Tamworthram got a reaction from Miggins in Warne Out Out
A slightly misleading stat as 3 of those games were against lower league opposition in the cup. If you look at league only defeats then LR lost 33% of his games whilst PW only lost 24% last season and 27% in total (if my maths are correct).

If I’m well enough that is !

Some (so called) supporters are verging on hysterical in their attempts to get Warne sacked. Will we never learn? How many times must we go down this road of appointing, losing patience, sacking a whole team of coaching staff at great expense to start the cycle off all again. If you can’t support the Club just 14 months after near extinction, even if in gratitude to David Clowes then frankly I think you should stay away (put politely)
