Nigel Clough would have taken us up...eventually.

Wolfie20 reacted to Tamworthram in Paul Warne
Why would most players good enough to play at league 1 and 2 level be necessarily prone to poverty and have to turn to football as their only way to avoid it?

I think that it's unlikely that we'll get any young keepers or defenders on loan from Premier teams as they all seem to favour this crazy playing out from the back at all costs system.
Liverpool, last night were cruising to victory until they starting messing about a the back and got caught, it seems that every week on Match of the Day, you see goals conceded or should be conceded by teams playing around at the back. LR insisted on this practice which was the reason that I was happy for him to go.

If Sam Rush hadn't sacked Nigel we would be in the Premier League now and wouldn't have had to go through administration

Wolfie20 reacted to Foreveram in Attendance
There was less away fans in the second league one season so the amount of home fans actually increased a lot more than the 19 per match showed.
There will be a large increase in the amount of away fans this season so with the amount of season tickets sold attendances should be up this season despite one or two on here saying there could be a massive drop if we kept the manager.

He was the only one like that of course - not the experienced players. How was he ever to get better in the position? He’s another victim like Knight and Bird of Warne’s midfield black hole. Even good players like Hourihane are made to look poor because of how they are played.
Knight, Bird, then Sibley, all gone? Of course they’ll end up at lesser clubs…

Wolfie20 got a reaction from Kathcairns in 24/25 Sky TV Coverage
You would assume (though don't bank on it) that the EFL would have canvassed all 72 clubs before agreeing to this deal. If that's the case then it's the clubs themselves who have sold the attending fans down the river and the lure of extra money has probably meant more to them than what best suits their fan base.
It would be interesting to know how each club voted.

Wolfie20 got a reaction from Anon in Premier League the most exciting in the world?
When the original plans were announced for the European Super League, along with probably most football fans in this country, I was delighted with the negative responses from the 'football family' (what an absolute joke that is) which brought pressure on the Big 6 to withdraw.
I have now completely changed my opinion and now reckon it would be the best thing that could happen for the game in this country. Remove Man City, United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool from the current PL and you wouldn't see overseas subscribers to SKY for dust, decimating their revenue. There would obviously be a period of uncertainty for many of those clubs left behind but examples of weekly wages of £20-30k in the Championship for quite average playrs are completely unsustainable - take away the current golden riches of the PL and hopefully some degree of sanity would return.
Probably will never happen though.

Yet you consider the likes of Wellbeck, McBurnie and Wood to be possibilities? Hilarious!

Wolfie20 reacted to Simmo’s left foot in Retained List
Give the guy a chance, he was not fit, and took a while to settle in! We have seen a little of what he can do, and I'm sure with a full pre season he will be an asset next season.
Any chance to have a dig with some people...

Most of our changes in style were forced by injuries or suspensions, will that happen in the Championship too?
