As much as I loved Collo’s I voted for Ebou’s.  Not only do I love a volleyed howitzer, but it was unbelievable technique to strike across the ball the way he did, and to generate the power with hardly and back lift.

  2. What I don't get is, all their fans crying that there's a conspiracy against them.  Like if these decisions went their way they'd be pulling a Leicester and blowing the fabled Top 6 out the water.  Even if they'd gotten half of the 'supposedly' dodgy calls in their favour, they'd still be sh!t, just sh!t with a few more points.  But instead of pointing the finger at the fat bar-steward of a chairman, dross players or the crappy recruitment team, they're deflecting.  They should face up to the fact that they've blown close to £300 million to go backwards, instead of believing that the EPL are scared of them becoming the next Premier League powerhouse, and somehow sticking it to the elite  It's not the 70's anymore...

Where he had them on the brink of the Championship play offs before coming here you mean?

This is a point a lot of folk are missing.  Rotherham were doing well before he came to us.  Now I know a lot of folks will shout "But they'd only played 10 games!" which is a fair statement, but how many times have we sat here and after a tricky start to a season said "I'll give him/I think we should give the man 10 games, and see where we are"?

I can remember when the rumour was first mooted that he was coming in and Rotherham fans were asked their opinion on his style and plenty of responses were that he had them playing better, more expansive football than they had at anytime under him.

I thought the Cambridge CB Rossi was decent. Like a young Alan Hansen.

Same here, he was excellent in the 2nd half.  A potential unearthed gem for next season?

My nerves were shot by the 97th minute, instead of running round the house like a lunatic on the final whistle, making sure the melty Red Dog dick-head next door could hear, I just collapsed in a heap and exhaled for what felt like an hour…

I think you’re doing Darryl Powell a disservice. In his one season as a division 2 player for us he was dominating the midfield with van der Laan.  You’re comparing division 3 Ebou to division 1 Darryl.

In division 3, Powell would have been a huge standout.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the Football Genius, but I'd say Ebou is, technique wise, a better player

This programme was a hot tip on this thread a few months back. If you're enjoying that, you might also enjoy an earlier RTE series on the same theme "Love/Hate" which is being shown on ITVX. I'm into series 3 now, and it's good, perhaps a bit grittier than Kin, but I've not yet got it ranked in my top 5, though it might go higher.

Kin is the best show of the year for me, really loved it.  I'm very grateful for ex Ram John Brayford for recommending it...

  7. I might be too late to warn you all but if you're thinking of watching Passenger on ITV/ITVX DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!  Started off well enough, but rapidly went down hill and ended with an episode so lacking in answers me & Mrs R have been patiently waiting for episode 7 to appear for a week!!!

Whack on Baby Reindeer on Netflix instead, really dark & disturbing true story, that is laugh out loud funny at points.

Lol. I guess it depends how long you've been watching us play? 😄

How do we do the mute thing again???  The fact you're still not happy at any part of this situation is enough of a reason not to have to read your doom-mongering crap ever again...

Don't think Bolton will overturn a +5 GD from here.

So two opportunities to get 3 points - surely we can't mess this up!

I think Ebou could be our modern day Darryl Powell. He played more than 200 games for the club, many in the Premier League and in a World Cup finals yet had no more technical ability than Adams possesses.

I’d say he had less.  Ebou is good on the ball and can play an accurate pass more than 15 yards.  Darryl was never one for spraying balls about

  11. Wrexham's win over Forest Green was quite the Rams reunion with Marriott scoring his first goal for them, by running off his marker Richard Keogh, via a move involving George Evans.

Good defensive midfielder but I question his technical ability at Champ level, won't be playing against free transfer from lower league midfield setups there.

Don't necessarily need it in the right balance of a midfield. Currently, he would be the only one I'd consider playing and every one else would be new. Need a player who can cover ground and be as aggressive as he is whether it's him or not. Win it, cover spaces, give it simple.

Warne ain't as daft as he sounds though, if we can't keep Adams, he will have ideas of alternatives. and you can guarantee they would be a similar athlete.

Let's cast our minds back to when everyone thought John Eustace was crap and didn't offer anything to the side.  Then Mac 1 comes in and he's the most important cog in the machine.  Nobody is asking Ebou to be Zidane, but for what he's being asked do he's very good at.  Ever since Warne came in we've struggled in midfield to pick up scrappy 2nd balls and break up the opposition's play, he's tried Bird, Hourihane, Thompson, Fornah & Smith, and none of them have done it anywhere near as good as Adams.  It's also very hard to coach into a player.

Feels like he’s having it out with a fan here🤣

Considering he's talking to me, that's not the case at all.  Long story short, me, my lad, and a few of his mates waited for the players after the Bolton game for pics, and I waited a bit longer than most for a pic with the gaffer, but I guess he was either still basking in the post victory glow at the bar, or he'd popped off early.  Fast forward to Saturday and my lad's mates were again waiting outside and one of them told him I was a Derby fan of 40 years & I was gutted I'd missed him a couple of weeks ago.  Warney politely asked him for his phone, asked what my name was, and hit Record.  Top bloke...

  14. His first few games I thought we'd signed an absolute dud, but his form after Christmas improved significantly and coincided with a good run of results.  Northampton was a blip for a lot of players so wasn't overly concerned with him coming back in on Saturday.  Having him there ensures Cashin & Nelson can carry the ball out and sit wide to help the wingbacks.

However if we were to go up, I think we'll need an upgrade on him.

I doubt Umbro would allow that to happen, they’ll be trying to clear as much stock as possible before they go.

The club shop need to lower their prices in the supposed "massive" Umbro sale then.  Still asking £30 for the home shirt, and £35 for the away & 3rd.

My favourite shirt of all time! Probably because I was only 10 when we beat Palace. The age where footballers are more like actual gods to you.

I paid well over £100 for this shirt a couple years back in proper mint condition and just wear it all the time and made it way less than mint condition!

If that's the case I feel extremely lucky I found a mint one in a Swadlincote charity shop for £8...

It's a toss up between this and the first season at Pride Park, just amazing kits, but even more amazing memorises.
