If he wants to go says a lot that he's gone from being willing to run through walls for this club to that.

Why not sell him? Where Warne is playing him is doing him no good. Wouldn't be surprised if his head had turned - he's got his career to think of! FFS what next?

Good job we didn't spend 6 months waiting for a head of recruitment to start, only for him to recommend ex Rotherham players and the league one team of the season 2019

Rambling reacted to Rampant in Derby County v Oxford Utd: Player Ratings
Wildsmith.....one excellent save low to his right in the first half, a more routine but still decent one in the second. Questionable effort on first Oxford goal but it was fair old thundering..... 6
Nelson.....at fault for their first. Not sure if he'd prefer being part of a back four..... 5
Bradley.....doesn't have the excuse of adjusting to a new system like Cashin has as he played centrally in a back three at Luton. An ardent Hatters fan told me two weeks ago that Bradley's legs and confidence went whilst with them and it appears he's spot on. Their dip in form apparently coincided with his return to the side due to injuries..... 5
Washington.....offers energy and mobility and appears to make decent runs. Fluffed a glorious chance to rescue a point late on but was in the right place which, in this Derby side, is at least a start due to its rarity..... 6
Cashin..... totally unsuited to being one of three centre halves, a problem easily solved when one of the other two is yet to convince and the other is Sonny Bradley. Often exposed down their inside right channel. Did produce one excellent saving tackle. Should have seen red for an obvious pull back - itself an undisciplined act given he was already on a yellow..... 5.5
Ward.....only played a bit part before going off injured. Offered a faint semblance of a threat down our right but didn't produce a stellar cross. Only usually has one target in the box to aim for so crossing needs to be top-drawer..... 6
Wilson..... has a trick, isn't afraid to run at the opposition and has beautifully bright boots. Needs to add a final ball of quality more often although he did put in the best cross of the night which in itself wasn't saying much..... 6.5
Smith.....may find himself covering CM and RB from the bench before too long..... 5
Waghorn.....lovely first time finish should see him start on Saturday..... 7
Bird.....as unsuited by this set-up as Cashin. Our classiest midfielder and the one who we should play through where possible. Rarely has a striker running through to find with his passing ability. A much better player than he's being allowed to demonstrate alongside Smith and Hourihane in this current system and with no pace up front..... 6.5
Hourihane.....a couple of excellent deliveries from set pieces but simply doesn't dominate games as somebody with his supposed ability should be doing..... 5
Forsyth.....not at his best but maybe a return to CB in a back four would suit..... 5
Méndez-Laing.....at this stage last season NML was more often than not terrorising the opposition full backs. He now plays in a position where he can't do that. If we continue with three CB's and wing backs then he may as well play at RWB but then why bring in Ward and Wilson? ..... 5
Elder.....barely involved so a six by default really..... 6
Collins.....cut a frustrated figure tonight. The usual effort but, alas, the usual outcome..... 5
Thompson.....I've been banging the Thommo drum for a while. He offers a buzz around the midfield in a Shinniesta way and has greater technical ability than I think he gets credit for. Has to come in for Smith or possibly Hourihane and be given a chance to galvanise our listless midfield. Would possibly bring the best out of Bird too..... 6.5

I started looking at the PPG record of our managers since Clough was replaced in 2013, with results in all competitions counting. Some such as Mac (both times), Lampard and Rosenior started off very well. Others such as Rooney, Clement and Pearson started off badly. However, every managers record started to level off around the 15-20 game mark, with just a couple of exceptions.
Looking at each managers overall PPG record from game 21+, here are a few observations:
Mac 1 - Hovered around 2 ppg, up until the final 10 game slump, 'when heads were turned'. Clement - After an initial purple period between games 20 to 25, form slumped with only Cocu and Rooney having worse ppg records at 33 games Mac 2 - Form nosedived just as quickly as Clement's did Rowett - After a purple patch in his 30's, he reverted back to norm by the end of the season Lampard - A steady 80 points a season record dropped to a steady 73 points per season record which was starting to increase when sacked Cocu - Despite a purple patch towards the end of the 19/20 season, he reverted back to norm for his last 10 games in charge Rooney - Form dropped over a 15 game period, and it stayed there until he left. Warne - It's been downhill since that 20-ish game run came to an end.

I know it’s early days and we as fans only seen a few clips of Brown but he looks like a real handful
If we didn’t know who he was or he was our new 1m signing,  on early and somewhat limited viewing so far  I’d be quite happy with him in our first team squad and think could make a real impact

Whereas I felt the opposite way .He was hampered at his previous club by a small budget and the clubs location and standing but still assembled a promotion team on 3 occasions. He's now surrounded by a good fitness and coaching set up with experienced people assessing recruitment and a great owner.
I like his outgoing personality and think his motivational attitude is refreshing,as all his signings have vouched for.Think he'll get the best out of his squad and ,once we've resolved the possible Knight or Cashin sales then we can go and bring in the additional 3/4 impact signings we need to take us to the required level. Not too far off now!

What I liked about last year is that most of the first links to players was when their signing was announced. More of the same please.

Rambling reacted to Caerphilly Ram in Haydon Roberts - signed for Bristol City
The posts of some people on this board don’t automatically equate to “the majority”. I for one would like to sign Roberts on a free and retain Sibley, Knight and Bird if feasible. I also accept that players will inevitably move on and if one, two or all of those 3 do leave we’ll have new players to support in their stead.
Roberts as a player has attributes we need in the squad, can cover a couple of positions, is young and has potential, signing him on a free would represent sensible business. I also think as it looks to be another summer of high numbers joining the squad, signing Roberts negates some of the settling in period other recruits may need as he’s just spent a year here.

Would still rather us operate mostly in the free agent market, at least at first, there’s a strange amount of quality in there this year. Lifted restrictions is ideal for loan fees and paying compensation on young players who might get offered contracts though (Roberts), hopefully we can offer some longer contracts too, brilliant news

What great news that is, no restrictions or embargoes in transfers and fees but sensible investment that will be monitored by the EFL accordingly. Great news!!!

Unlucky guys, I genuinely couldn’t see you slipping up but sadly that’s how it goes. Hopefully Posh can do Wednesday now and if we do similar to Barnsley we won’t have to worry about the hoardes of Rams or Owls fans we’d face at Wembley because I don’t think many Wanderers fans can afford two trips to Wembley in one season. For what it’s worth it may not be a hardship for you leaving it another year to get up. You were limited in the players you could sign and late in the season it’s showed but give Warne a chance to build and you’ll certainly be pushing for the automatics next season and with a much stronger situation behind you. We’re also being pretty pragmatic about the play offs and it may also be a year early for us too so we may be challenging again next year also. Not much coming down so if it is Wendies going up it’s all to play for for both of us. Hopefully we’ll make it, on our day we can beat any of the others so we’ll just wait and see. Sorry you missed out this time but best of luck for next year, you’re far too big a club to be kicking round this level. 😉

Football is being destroyed, I have NEVER left a game before the final whistle and I’ve been going to watch derby many many years , time was the last ten minutes of games was the best bit more often than not , you know what ? I would rather see us going all out in a blood and thunder finish and losing a goal on the break than this shxt, it’s week in week out and it has to be stopped no matter who is doing it and yes I mean us too , if a player stays down long enough to stop the game then he is off for ten minutes before he can return, that simple rule change ends it , I am sick to death of nail biting exciting games being destroyed , gripe over
great crowd , players gave it all and that’s all I ask for ducking love derby

A day of massive contrasts but to still be in charge of our own destiny ar the end of it is the main thing.
The atmosphere pre-match reminded me of the Brighton playoff semi...full house & a real crackle of expectation. Lot of new lads in our block in East Stand that I noticed & area was much louder than usual. We then launched into them that first 20 mins & should have been 2-0 up at the end of that period. McGoldrick's effort that hit the post was desperately unlucky but Mendez-Laing showed a total lack of conviction when presented with a chance from 15 yards out in space.
Their goal was totally unexpected & it totally knocking the stuffing out of the team & the fans. We were then chasing shadows until half-time, couldn't retain the ball at all, starting sitting deep & were pretty fortunate not to be further behind, Wildsmith pulling off two great saves.
Second half we started playing football again & eventually got the reward we deserved from Collins' smart finish. The last half hour hastened the start of the fake Portsmouth injuries & like others on here, I'm sick of the total predictability but especially the referee's compliance of it. It needs a major crackdown for next season...my suggestion would be an immediate & automatic stretching off of 'injured' player to nearest spot off the pitch & play restarts asap with team in possession getting a throw in whilst player is getting 'treatment'. Sooner they realise they can't soak 2 mins out of the game & that the attack will continue (if attacking side had the ball), the sooner it will stop.
Obviously disappointing to not have won & it does continue our poor record against the top half sides. In the context of our season though, it has to be seen as a good day overall as Peterborough conspired to drop points too & look in bad nick. Onto Hillsborough, COYR
