7 shots on target (4 of which required diving saves from their keeper) is nearly twice the divisional average for away games (3.9) and nearly 25% higher than the team with the highest average, Oxford (5.7), so I'm not sure what your expectations are in that respect, but they seem to be allot higher than any team in the division is capable of.
 

the compensation rules are a joke to be honest. Cat1 academies shouldn’t be able to steal talent from other cat1 academies so easily. Since brexit and the rules for signing overseas youngsters it’s only  exasperated the problem over here. Now the big prem clubs just hoover up all the local talent in the hope of 1 day of selling for a fee or they may turn into a star. Amazing really how Birmingham were able to get so much for Jude Bellingham, his families affection for Blues was probably they’re only saving grace.

I agree, his parents and no doubt he’ll have an agent will have a big say.
But, I can’t blame the lad, he’s living the dream at the moment.

I’ve been quite critical of Warne but he’s just spent weeks out with a serious injury. Warne probably knew he could only get 1 start out of him this week in his return to fitness so risked him against a tougher in paper Blackpool team than Cheltenham? 

Fornah
Hourihane     Bird
4-3-3 has to be the way to go, Fornah is that presence In midfield we’ve missed for a while, he’s just always there. Bird is our best midfielder on the ball and as much as people love to hate Hourihane he contributes 10-15 goals and assists a season and no other midfielder in our squad is capable of getting anywhere near that.

Slept on it ‘balanced’ thoughts
positives: 
1) first home game of the season I feel like I can say we never looked like losing. We were so in control we could have played for 900 minutes and not conceded which, even against weak opposition, hasn’t felt true this season before. 
 
2) Nelson looks better and better as the weeks go on. We’ve got a fantastic CB at this level and a player I hope can make the step back up with us when we need it. 
 
3) Nyambe is such an intelligent footballer but with all the physical attributes Warne would want from a player. Been a pleasure watching him. 
 
4) Forsyth is Forsyth. How he keeps going with 0 knees and a resurgence at left back after 2 years at CB. When Cashin looks like the weakest part of a back 4 (and he isn’t weak at all) you know you probably have the best defence in the division… 
 
5) Fornah showed everything you’d want from someone in his position yesterday he mopped absolutely everything up. Was always there when they broke the lines. My dad who doesn’t really comment on players in the game turned and said ‘that big lad in the middle is tidying everything up’. 
 
6) Barkhuizen has the pace but also some technical ability to go with it which makes the attack feel like it’s a little bit less kick and rush. 
 
7) we did dominate the match. Which is what I’d asked to be seeing at home. 
 
Negatives 
1) no one in the final third showed any sort of real quality at all. 
 
2) don’t want to single anyone out for having a stinker but there was one player who’d have been frustrated with his performance I think. A bit sloppy.  
 
3) I’m all for keeping the ball and recycling it if nothing is on (I’ve called for this and want to see it) but on some occasions, as Warne would say, the players needed to be a bit braver and trust their team mates with a firm pass forwards to them in the middle. Trust them to control it and move it on even if they have a few players around them because that’s how we’ll pull teams apart who are happy for a point. 
 
4) the balance up top isn’t right. I’d rather see a focal point with NML and Bark either side of them with an actual creator playing behind them rather than having 2 strikers. 

The last point which is neither positive or negative is that we held a team off at arms length who would have snapped your hand off for a point. Can we do this firstly away from home? Can we do this against a Barnsley or a Bolton etc?

No but it gave us a fantastic chance to score from from the penalty spot 👍🏻

Baring in mind I was very critical after the Portsmouth game, after a few days of reflection Saturdays performance was nowhere near as bad as some are making out. Even after rewatching the highlights package, we had all the best chances in the game. Granted they hit the woodwork twice but one was a howler from our keeper and the second Collins lost the ball sloppily and it resulted in a chance for them. Cashins header inside the 6 yard box was a far better chance than either of them and should have resulted in another goal. 
 
The pass accuracy stats seems to be the latest niche stat to beat the management team with. 4 days earlier we completed 600+ passes yet on Saturday we were struggling to kick a ball 5 yards to a team mate without it going astray. Is that the fault of the manager or inconsistencies of players playing in the 3rd tier of English football? 

Bout time Warne starts throwing things around the dressing room at half time.
 
Some of our passing has been worse than sh1te. Simply not good enough for people paid to play this as their job.
 
Really disappointed with how sloppy we’ve been. Capitalised brilliantly on a honking mix up from their defence but didn’t put them to the sword. 

First Saturday game of the season for me yesterday due to family commitments,  was back in the pub by 60 mins, not a left a game that early since the rowett era. It’s just boring as was the GR era, Warne is killing this club, his time is up for me.
