Thought Collins was absolutely superb last night, would be ecstatic to see ua go for him in the summer. A real stand out player for them in the middle of the park last night.

Interestingly the “decent long range shot” you mention was his worst moment of the game for me and showed his severe lack of football intelligence. We’ve managed to win the ball high up the pitch creating a 3v2 in our favour, instead of drawing a defender out and playing one of his team mates in, he’s toon a shot on from 20-25 yards and missed the target. We’re seriously lacking in goals from around the pitch, Didzy has scored our last 4 or 5 goals, if we’re going to be successful in our quest for the playoffs it’s vital other players start pitching in with goals, but that means making the right decisions when opportunities present themselves.

Oh 100%. I’d quite happily sell Jason Knight in the summer as well, a great engine but severely lacking in end product. Played his best games this season at RB

Thought the tweak in formation worked better last night, especially after half time. Looked more like a 3-4-3 last night which meant NML was playing 15-20 yards further up the pitch. Swap Sibley for Barks or dobbin and this could be a decent set up to finish the season with.

On the back of a an away win, so I'm not seen as reactive to a poor result, I'll nail my colours to the mast regarding Warne.

Lovely bloke, good people person, but a very limited football manager in terms of how he sees the game.

Today we played a team cut adrift at the bottom of the league, one win in the last 23 if I heard Owen correctly, yet we owed our goals chiefly to their unbelievably naive, schoolboy level defending.

We are not seeing the best of our squad, because we have a manager who believes football is chiefly an athletic pursuit, rather than a game of skill, and cunning, with athleticism allowing the skill and cunning to prosper.

We've appointed a smiley Charlie Hughes, basically.

Playing midfield under Warne at the moment is a thankless task, watching balls from the back hoofed over your head into the channels, waiting to pounce on the oppositions mistakes to win those second balls, all the while not wanting to leave the back door open.

We don't have the squad to play his way, so we'll limp on till the end of the season, a make do and mend team, even if we somehow end up in the play offs, even if we end up winning them, until he gets the summer, and further windows, to put his stamp on the club

By which point, I'm not convinced that a team Paul Warne has crafted will be one I particularly want to watch, week in, week out.

I sit/stand in this block, been in there for about 14 years. The age dynamic of the block has changed in the last 18 months, some regulars dropped out post Covid and it’s been replaced with younger lads. You’re right, the standing just happened at some point last season, personally I prefer to stand. Atmosphere has been largely improved in that area in the last 18 months as well, really hope the club doesn’t spoil it by trying to clamp down on standing.

All very close? Theirs was two yards!
Hourihane marginal but I think offside, Diddy looked onside.

This may sound slightly odd but I feel the timing of our goal went against us. We were under the cosh and about to ring the changes just as we scored. Naturally PW hesitated on the subs, would have been a bold decision to sub Collins just after he equalised but in truth, he wasn’t having a great afternoon. After a few minutes the game settled back into its natural pattern and they were creating chances again, terrible marking from the set piece and it’s 2-1.

Is this lad one of the best interviewers ever? His questions are interesting, he speaks well, his facial expressions beg a good answer, and the players obviously rate him.

It's not even that Warne is using a 'traditional, pragmatic style.' It's just better football, by a long way. We play quickly, we score goals, we press the life out of teams. It's a great watch.

We do need one now mate.
If there's any long term injury to Cashin or Forsyth we're gonna have Davies or Stearman having to play 3 games a week which neither of them are up to.
Infact to be honest, neither of them look up to 90 minutes.
We need a Right back and a striker too.

I've asked you to provide evidence to back up the above statement, which you haven't provided, probably because no other lg1 or even championship players were in the Poland squad. Please don't make up stories knocking Derby players, if want to make a point please back it up with proper evidence. For what it's worth, as a life long Derby fan, I'd have gone to Blues for one season, if it meant having a chance to play in the World Cup Finals.
To be honest, I don't believe that Bielik fits the mold for a PW player, he doesn't display the energy that PW demands. Even Hourihane has started to put a shift in, after weeks of training with PW. Bielik is much more a 'quarterback' style of player playing quite a static role.
The evidence would suggest that Bielik's wages are in excess of £20k per week, Blues will be a high proportion of this and Derby need to spend those wages more wisely.

Warne spoke of the possibility of getting him back to Derby, confirming that we have a recall in the loan this January - HOWEVER, said that he wouldn't want any prisoners and wouldn't bring him back if he didn't want to come back. Lo and behold, he's not returned and the club have confirmed he will be staying at Birmingham for this season.
I don't think it's a conspiracy to suggest that he has decided against coming back to Derby to continue playing in the Championship.

At this stage my preference would be to sell him, even if it was just enough to cover the last instalment to Arsenal and get his wages off the bill.
This may sound crazy but I wouldn’t bring him back into this squad now anyway, he’s made it quite clear he doesn’t want to be here so why jeopardise the squad unity by bringing him back. Now there’s no questioning his ability but if we brought him back we would have to completely change the team set up to accommodate him. A team that’s 16 invested with 5 clean sheets in a row would have to change to suit him, there’s no way he could slot in for either Bird or Hourihane he’s just not mobile enough to play in a 2.

I would hate to see us being Bielik back against his wishes, whilst he's a Derby County player, we have to respect him as a person as well.
We appear to have a happy camp, why potentially disrupt that by throwing a player into the mix that doesn't want to be here, nobody wins out of this situation.
From what we're led to believe it's not the club he has an issue with, just does not want to play in League 1, that's his call.
Personally I think when you make that kinda call, whilst players like Knight and Bird that are clearly not League 1 players get their heads down and get stuck in despite being down here is not any of their faults, how can you ever justify bringing him back in even if we go up?
Oh you want to be apart of this team now?...Nah. Sell him in the summer and wish him well.
