45% is a really good sign that the club is being well run. He has also mentioned that the EFL are looking towards having a clear % of turnover limit for all  clubs. That's the way football needs to be going forward, so no more unaffordable contracts and clubs relying on wealthy owners to make good silly losses. Player salary levels also need looking at to! In some cases they should be halved at least.

I've found his interview to be a very good listen actually. Well done to him.

It will be interesting to hear what he has to say. However I don't expect anything new re the admin and MM era. That's privileged  and sensitive information and it would not be ethical to discuss it. It would be like me publicly discussing the sensitive stuff I know from my previous employer and the inner workings of the business they were in.

I'm mostly interested in how the club is doing now, with the new ownership and sensible approach DC has, and how it will look going forward.

As far as I'm concerned, DC has appointed him, and as he is a sensible businessman I'm happy with that.

I would ask how competitive is a club living within its cashflow means can be, and is it possible to be both sustainable and top 6 competitive both in league one and the championship. Also his thoughts on player pay levels etc.

So Nyambe is now doubtful for tomorrow. Seems it was a good decision to pull him off and try to protect him for the run in which will be challenging for all. Everybody would be criticising Warne if he kept him on and he broke down!!

Still poor defending for the goal though. Ho hum, we go again!

I know several Ipswich fans, and they are all fearing what will happen when the financial outlay of last season raises its head....

I find the vitriol against Paul Warne, and the general toxicity among a vocal minority here pretty disappointing. We are in second place! Performances have been variable to say the least, but we have scraped out some results, and nobody can expect us to win every game. The late equaliser yesterday was very disappointing, but that's football, and it happens in every division every week.

We have made the team better by signing Adams, we have CBT to get going, and we have a solid back line with options when injury and suspension strikes. We also have some attacking flair, which perhaps could be doing more.

Teams like Shrewsbury are always going to come to Pride Park looking to stop us playing and claw out a point. So really we just need to be more clinical and sort these teams out. Hopefully the addition of Adams will help. 

Looking forward to tuesday and hopefully 3 points, plus if we win on saturday lets see what the table looks like. We need to get behind the team, stop the moaning and the boo boys can go elsewhere please. Football in League one is not pretty and it never will be.

Maybe the club have decided they don't want betting in the stadium? I remember David Clowes saying in the summer he could easily have a betting company as a shirt sponsor, but he was not keen on it.

I suspect there are several options to move things around if needed. Barks actually prefers playing down the middle, NML would do an honest job if asked to (He holds the ball well too..) Sibley is actually at his best (If he turns up) behind the striker. Thats 3 options just to start off.

Plus of course we should have Washington and Waghorn back hopefully before the end of february, but they will need to be managed carefully. I imagine there might also be the chance of short term deal for a free agent. Lets wait and see.

Excellent news, best bit of business this window I think. Great young player, and I hope he will develop loads more.

If its £2.5 million plus a loan back that's a very good deal for I think. He would have gone at the end of the season and we would have got £800k in compensation. So cash flow up front, hopefully to fund other stuff, decent player with us to the end of the season. 

Just hope the other stuff is a young up and coming striker who can develop further with us.

In those aerial photos you can clearly see the two remaining walls that seem to be the only parts of the BBG that are left. The wall on Vulcan street to one side of the entrance towards the popside turnstiles, and the wall behind where the Ossie stand was. I think the wall at the Ossie end was originally part of the Leys works, as it has bricked up windows in what is now a wall?

If there is any truth in that, which is doubtful, then I imagine there will be a couple of outgoings too. End of transfer window can be a lot of fun!

East midlands rail affected by strikes on saturday, curious how are folk going to be getting there?

One good thing is that buying CBT who I think will be a good player, given some time to settle in, it will release Barks to play down the middle as a number 10, which is actually his preferred position. So we then have Barks and Sibley who could be actually playing in their preferred position, behind Collins? Sibley seems to be a bit of mystery, flashes of greatness, then nothing for ages. I suspect he will go in the summer, or even maybe if a cheeky bid comes in in the next day or so..

On saturday there were a couple of times when a pass from the centre circle straight to Collins on the edge of the area was wide open, but it went to the wings instead. A back to goal striker who holds the ball like Martin used to do would be a great tactic! Sibley and Barks would then be great runners. Mac part one tactics....

I thought Thomson looked very good today, very mobile, always looking to tackle and win the ball. He deserves a run in the team I think.

The Cheltenham player that collided with the post right at the end looked like he really hurt himself. Anybody know how he is?

I'm also unhappy with the performances, but fully understand that getting the result is what counts, and am pleased we got it. I still don't believe booing the team off at 0-0 is helpful, and we don't need such fans. Looking forward to Charlton next week, my first away match.

Just back home. Well that was a match with lots too talk about. Awful first half, got worse when they scored. Was considering taking up pottery classes on saturday afternoons at that point. Very good substitutions, and the whole outlook of the team changed. Tommo needs to start more often, his energy and biting at opposition's heels are much needed in this division. CBT showed a few good touches, but needs to settle in.

Despite the poor performance, we scraped out a win, which is how to get promoted!

I wish the moaners and boo boys would shut up, and just get behind the team. Booing at the half time whistle, not helping anybody. I've never booed a Derby team in nearly 50 years, and wont be starting now, particularly when we are 1 point off second place, and 3 points off the top. Some people need to get a grip!

It was great to see him on the pitch again, he did a nice circle around the pitch, and everybody was singing his name, lots of hugs from Derby players too. What a gent, and a model pro. I hope he does well after retirement, would love to see him back at Derby either coaching or maybe on Rams TV.
